Wonderful info!
I half expected to see Heather sneaking from bush to bush, in the background, while Leon was going over the training plan. 😂 Seriously, great interviews especially asking about the snickers! I’m sure that question was on everyone’s mind, so another great job Heather! 🫠
Thanks to everyone for sharing their knowledge
Our pleasure!
Looking forward to receiving my first order PH fuel
Is there a rule of thumb for amateurs in regards to electrolyte intake, as it’s quite dependent on multiple factors, e.g. race day climate?
Especially signs if you overdo electrolytes?
Such an interesting video! Proper fueling is so important and yet so individual …

Interesting that PH's case studies show predominantly energy gels and drinks as fuel. I expected more solid food like bars and chews. Do the pros tend to avoid bars or just not PH's product of choice?
It really comes down to a mixture of personal preference (e.g. Leon's Snickers) and practicalities - gels and drinks are just more efficient from a size and weight point of view
how do you train your gut to cope with that level of Carb intake?
We have a video coming out in this soon so keep your eyes peeled 👀
Did she say 3 bottles on the bike with 900g of carbs in them??
I think she meant 90 grams. But i also heard 900 wich is very odd.
Leon didn't pee during the entire race? 8 hours long? I pee 2/3 times in a 70.3 in 4hrs!! Maybe I'm drinking too much then....
Probably...you can lose up to 2-3% of your body weight in sweat and not lose any performance. So if a 70kg racer...that is 1.75kg or 1.75L. Doing a couple simple sweat tests should help you dial it in.
Are you taking electrolytes on with that fluid? It could be that it’s essentially flushing through otherwise
@@markthrelfall3577 yep my go to for a 70.3 bike leg is 2x sachets of SIS beta fuel each in 500ml and a 950ml bottle with 2x PH1500 tablets in! And just some SIS gels on top. I’ve never not had a wee in a 70.3 😂
@@markthrelfall3577 does mixing electrolytes with water ease the urge to pee?
When is a company going to start supplying this stuff at a reasonable cost? It’s way over blown considering there really isn’t that much science involved. In fact none if you can read the already established science.
These people are eating crap and jacking up on caffeine, very unhealthy. You need to take a look at 80/10/10. If you want a long term winning career and a major advantage in racing.
The crap = sugar = fast energy = winning
Yet they keep winning at an incredible fitness level, try again.
