Hi Curl Friends! 👋🏽🥰 I’ve been dismissing some of the bullying I’ve experienced due to talking about my own personal experience with getting curly cuts. Not only have I read and heard things on my own but I’ve also been sent stuff from others. 😢 It’s never okay to bully anyone for any reason but especially over THEIR OWN HAIR! It’s unreal to even have to say that! 😑 I’ll be honest, it took a lot for me to speak up about my experience with curly cuts because of the obvious. However, I didn’t think I’d be treated poorly over it. 😤 Please know I’m not bad mouthing curly cuts. I actually think they are beautiful! I’m just choosing to move in a different direction right now based off of my own experiences. So I’m not suggesting you stop getting them at all. What I am suggesting however is that you always do what works and is best for YOUR HAIR. 💯 Thank you and I welcome your thought and feedback. 🤗 Xoxo Shelly 💖
This is how i know they (bgc) simply don’t know how to run a business. How incredibly simple would it have been for them to just say “because of the nature of curly hair we recommend stretching the hair to really asses and evaluate the state of your ends in between curly cuts to ensure hair health ” or offering blown out/ stretched cuts for trims and shaped cuts in between or instead of curly cuts (this has been the standard for years, it is absolutely possible). Like they just completely threw away an alternate money revenue stream because of their inflated ego. I have lost a lot of respect from them over this lack of accountability and no longer watch their content since i believe it is a fact that these curly cuts are not healthy for the hair. Too many of us who don’t neglect our hair have presented too much evidence for me to believe otherwise. Bless you for speaking on this❤.
Preach Sis PREACH‼️‼️‼️ Like how hard would it have been to just tweak their recommendations? Instead they they dug their heels in when the evidence is overwhelmingly clear that curly cuts do not fully address all the split ends etc. I’m also now feeling that some of the hair care routine recommendations are misguided. Lastly, I hate how mean and nasty they (mainly the one with blonde hair) treat other women of color. It’s so uncalled for! Thank you for your comment. I wish I could like it a million times over!!! Stay blessed Sis! 💖
AfrikanHairGod spoke on this recently, and mentioned you, and showed how gorgeous and healthy your hair is! Don’t worry about these people. They’re worried about losing their livelihoods now that they realize the service they’re providing is doing harm, or, they’re in denial that these cuts are doing harm.
I’m super thankful he’s continued the conversation! 🙌🏽. It needs to be discussed and our other curl friends deserve to be aware of what could happen to their hair. I refuse to stop talking about this until we get valid answers that make sense. Lastly, thank you for your lovely comment and support. It means more than you could ever imagine Sis. Especially right now! ♥️💯
Definitely here for this ! They need to go back to the drawing board to respectfully address all of these new complaints popping up instead of blaming their own CIK stylists and worse, the client's themselves... considering all them dollars being thrown into curly cuts...they need to go back to the drawing board because all of this is very dismissive to their clients feelings and concerns... exactly why even as a wash n go girly i never bought their course- i saw down the line, their leadership wasn't going to be supportive enough, it felt like just selling courses and making up new terminology
Whoa you said a mouth there! Where’s my mic 🎤 so you can drop it! 😆 I agree with you Sis! What’s frustrating is stating that some of us who have been getting curly cuts have real and valid concerns and are feeling extremely dismissed! Every time the question is asked, the blame shifts to either the CIK or the client. Mainly the client. Also, they keep saying it’s the sheers or that the client has holes, a mullet or a baby crown etc. However, what does having a hole, a mullet or a baby crown have to do with massive split ends after getting routine curly cuts??? I just don’t get any of it and you’re so smart that you moved differently with your crown! 👑💖💯
Before the ends even came into question, length retention was my concern! I was getting my hair cut back to the same length every 8 weeks. I was told my hair was healthy too but was not able to retain any length for the sake of “maintenance and shape” I blew my hair out this morning and will only get trim or get trims on blown out hair from now on. Thank you for confirming my suspicions.
I’m so excited for you Sis! Like I literally smiled so big reading your comment! I would be willing to put money on the fact that our hairs health and length will be so far ahead by implementing this approach!!! Please keep us posted on how your hair is doing. 💖
You are being so KIND Shelly 👀! And we know your hands didn’t do it because many have sent photos of what their hair , ends looked like. It’s really unfortunate that the group is still encouraging and saying it’s possible to remove all split ends with curly Cuts and maybe it is but I didn’t have that experience! I would really respect them if they said let’s step back and investigate why clients are experiencing split ends after receiving routine trims! They have said it’s possible depending on the experience of the CIk stylist. I am confused are we just to assume the CIk stylist is going to? It would be nice for them to come out snd say we are looking into why our clients are experiencing this ‼️ There are so many questions I currently have with their entire process ‼️
Thank you beautiful! I ain’t studding them at all! I got bigger fish to fry! 👀😆 Thank you so very much for your love and support Sis! It’s truly appreciated‼️💖🤗
Sis you ain’t ever lying! It’s just crazy! 😝 Btw, I’ve read some of your comments on how your stylist cuts your hair and it sounds so perfect! I wish my curly cuts were done the exact same way. I bet if they had, I wouldn’t have had the issues I had. 😅
Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm now suspect of people who come out with a new curly hair "system" (followed up with books, courses and products) that tell you that everything you knew about hair is wrong. I've been natural since 2007 and back then it was Deva cuts (cutting dry hair, curl by curl) and "the curly girl method" (no sulfates, silicones, mineral oil or petrolatum). I purchased the original book by Lorraine Massey and wanted to get Deva cuts (but no one in my area was licensed in that type of cut). The no raw oils, butters, etc and CIK curly cuts (and teaching a specialized system of cutting for stylists to get "licensed" in) seems like the same system as before. Just modified and rebranded for black women (esp. with tighter curls). And over time, I think women who followed both have found issues with it, in some form. I tried both systems of styling (though not of cutting). But quickly discovered that no sulfates was not for me. I also tried the no oils, butters and no leave in routine. But that method required me to wash my hair every 3-5 days, to keep it from drying out. And, after awhile, I didn't want to keep up with doing that. In the last few years, I've decided to be more flexible with my hair and focus more on what a product or technique is doing to my hair (or not) over time, than a rigid system of rules. And I go to a stylist now who cuts my hair in a straightened state (before I was self-trimming for many years).
Yup I hear you Sis and all your points are well stated. 💯 All of this is very interesting and so very sad at the same time. I truly believed this new approach to my hair I had implemented was the truth! It’s all just been so disheartening to find it the exact opposite for my hair. 😞 Now I carry the weight of being accused by some of doing the wrong thing by sharing my personal experience etc. This whole situation has just been draining and awful! 😓
Shelly I have a very similar experience. I’ve been getting regular curly cuts for over 3 years. When my stylist blew my hair out for a color service is when I first noticed the splits. I thought, surely, my eyes must be deceiving me. After not retaining ANY length over the years, I got sick of my stylist and decided to go back to styling my own hair. I blew my hair out and the splits were splitting, honey. I gave myself a proper trim and my hair has so much movement, it’s growing, and looks really good. I don’t want to blame it totally on the curly cut, but I think that my stylist wasn’t very good. Unfortunate. I’m excited to watch your journey as I am on the same one. I also subscribed 🎉
I’m like you sis and don’t want to blame anyone but I’m thinking curly cuts are not addressing all the ends of the hair. 😅 Would love to hear how your hair continues to thrive! 😍💖
Oh my gosh!!! This is exactly how I found out about my split ends. My stylist blew my hair out and I took a picture for the before. When I got home and saw my hair blown out I noticed my ends were horrible. She told me the ends don’t really matter since I wear my hair curly. I stopped getting the curl maintenance cuts and just let my mother cut my ends.
Very true but I went to 2 different tight curl specialist. One actually teaches the cutting technique so I would honestly be surprised if that were the case. 😅
Hi Shelly, I came from Narada’s channel. New subscriber here! We have got your back over there. Both of you! So happy you shared your truth! Your blown out cut looks beautiful 😻 xx
I’m so glad you share your journey in such an authentic way. I’m a hairstylist and I was in phase 2 of CIK. I loved the relearning of some principles, but I’ve struggled as a professional stylist on solely doing curly cuts on my clients. I’ve also felt as a stylist that serves tight curly individuals that I get bashed if I just don’t buckle down and only do curly cuts. Personally, I got my first curly cut this year and I’ve been 20+years natural. Before CIK, I was trained that you can’t properly address split ends in the curly state. Curly cuts are for shaping. I loved the shape of the curly cut and will get another one. I probably will get my hair cut blown out once in the fall. I always tell my stylist not to create layers. As a hairstylist, I also don’t do a lot of layering for cuts unless the person is primarily doing silk presses because I’ve found the layers throw off the curly shape.
Sis, first off thank you so very much for speaking up. Your words hold a ton of weight because you are one of our experts! 💯 Second, I’ve had several curly friends slide into my DM’s and share their pics and or experience and what you’re is spot on! Third, Instead of those discounting what several are saying, I wish we could just have a mature conversation. I think there’s room for both methods at the table. Curly cuts for ultimate shape and blown out cuts for ultimate hair health! I’d love to follow you on IG if I don’t already. If you’re okay with that please let me know your IG account. 💖 Thank you again because your words and voice are invaluable!!!! Xoxo ~Shelly 💖🤗😘
I get what you're saying about deciding to cut your hair in a blown out state. I am thinking about going that way too because my length is gone after my curly cut and I'm not reaching my length goals.
Yeah and it’s very frustrating!!!! I’m over all my length getting snatched with those types of cuts. I’m excited to welcome and retain my much desired length! So I don’t blame you Sis!!!
I have really enjoyed your channel and Instagram posts. You have been inspiring us over 50 ladies so much. We appreciare you. I wish that particular group was not so adversarial. Unfortunately much of their education gets missed due to behavior of the messenger(s). This is not their 1st instance of bullying in the natural hair community. As always, keep on doing what is best for your hair. Be blessed!!!!
I don't have any personal experience with curly cuts because I have never had one. My comment is about wash-n-go styling, cuts on blown-out hair, and retaining length wearing a wash-n-go. I've been wearing almost exclusively WnG styling since 2008 when I discovered Kinky-Curly products from watching an OG RUclipsr called Str8isis use it on her hair. I had worn a WnG off and on previous to that but didn't like it because of the gel that was available at that time. There was a learning curve but once I figured out how to use the Kinky-Curly system I was happy with my results. My personal experience has been cutting my hair in a blown-out state two to three times a year as needed. I've always restyled every 5 to 7 days by shampooing, conditioning or deep conditioning, and styling. My hair is tailbone length and healthy. So it is absolutely possible to grow your hair out to waist length by wearing a WnG and using your current routine. In my experience wearing WnG styling doesn't hamper length retention as long as I keep up with a healthy haircare routine. There have been times when for several months I didn't gain length due to being lazy and allowing tangles and knots to build up in my hair for two weeks before restyling but that was my neglect and not the method of haircare. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised at the end of the year with the new cutting technique.
Ugh I needed to hear this because I’m feeling a little frustrated and discouraged about my hair Sis! I’m starting to realize my hairs health might also have been impacted by the hair care routine advice I was following. Mainly being told we didn’t need leave-ins or deep conditioners since we were using humectant gels and shampooing/conditioning regularly. 🤦🏽♀️ I recently reimplemented them back into my hair care routine because the stylist who blew my hair out to cut it said my hair felt very hard, rough and dry! 😑 So I’m trying to get my hair to bounce back but my fear is some uncorrectable damage has been done. Only time will tell. However, I’m excited because I feel like I definitely will reach my length goal sooner this way. Plus my overall hair will now be healthier once I do! 💖🙏🏽 Thank you for your awesome testimony on trimming the hair while straight. Super encouraging!!! 🥰💯🤗😘
@@shelly.v.247 Be encouraged. Most likely your damage is temporary.🥰💜 I don't use leave-in or deep conditioner with every wash. I've learned when my hair needs them and when it doesn't.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m interested in seeing what your ends look like a year from now and hope it turns out well. Hate to hear that you’re getting bullied for sharing your experience. I’ve been getting curly cuts for a couple years now and they have been working for me and usually address my split ends as they should, but it hurts to hear that’s not everyone’s experience.
I’m curious too and can hardly wait to see the outcome and see if there is a difference. 😅 Also, I absolutely love hearing that curly cuts are addressing all of your hairs needs! That’s the perfect scenario Sis! 🙌🏽 Lastly, yeah it’s a shame that people feel it’s okay to bully others because they don’t like their personal choices. That’s still just so crazy to me! ☹️
My stylist cuts my hair stretched out, but not blown out and then once it is styled and curls are dry she goes back in and finalizes the shape. She is proficient in a variety of different curl cut techniques and decides which is right for your hair type and needs.
My stylist does something similar. He stretches it gently with his hand and holds the end to trim off. He has curly hair and he can cut straight, blow out or curly. I never experienced any craziness with severe damage on my hair. But then again I don't ask him to cut it into a curly afro type shape so maybe that's why.
I’ve been getting curly cuts for over 7 years. My hair is WAY more healthier now than when I would get my hair cut while straight. With that being said, I wear my hair in a wash n go 100% of the time. In addition I don’t manipulate my hair and I style my hair with the same 5 product. I’m sure that has some bearing on the overall health of my hair. I’m sorry you are being bullied that’s not right..especially on platform that is suppose to be uplifting and educating black women with natural hair. Everyone should do what’s best for them. I think curly hair is very trendy now. You have to be a bit leery of these stylist..as everyone is trying to jump on the train without the proper education
Well stated Sis! I think it’s a personal choice and everyone should do what’s best for them. I do believe all the points you made can also impact the health of one’s hair. So I’m curious to see if my hair changes for the better by getting blown out cuts. Only time shall tell. 💖😅🙏🏽
Omgoodness I don’t know how I missed your comment but I’m so weak right now! 🤣 Shoooooottttt me either! I’m ready for my length to be next level Sis! 🤣💯
Thank you for sharing! I just recently shared my experience with curly cuts and how it destroyed my hair. I ended up having to do a big chop. Since that experience, I blow my hair out and get my ends trimmed only.
You are so welcome! I just watched your video today and I sent it to several friends to watch too! Thank you for sharing your experience and being brave enough to speak up! We need more people actually showing what can happen! ANYONE SEEING THIS COMMENT, PLEASE GO SUPPORT OUR CURL FRIEND AND WATCH HER VIDEO. What she shares needs to be heard‼️💯 Thank you again Sis and I can’t wait to hear your hair flourishes moving forward! 🙌🏽♥️💃🏽
@@shelly.v.247 thank you so much! I was growing my hair out when it happened and became very discouraged at the time. I may try to grow it out again but my main goal is to just have healthy hair.
@@shelly.v.247 I’m upset with myself because I drank the koolaid !! My hair is dryyy dry !! When my mom said hair looks like it has no vitality that was it for me !! Confirmation !!
@@ebonypainter9274 It sounds like we are in the exact same boat right now. It’s so frustrating but we will get it all figured out. I’m just glad we are openly discussing it now! 🙌🏽
Thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve been following Rosie for at least a year. So when she did the video on the issue she was having I was like ok I’m not the only one having the same problem. Minds you I got my last cut in March and it hasn’t been easy (even though my routine hasn’t change ). I have blown out my hair since September 2021 so next week I guess I’ll see what I’m working with. As for the push back you’re getting I think it sucks. You shared you’re experience and people can’t accept that ?? We are not in high school and that’s why many don’t want to transition to their natural. I don’t believe their one way to take of our hair and people should be more open to different way.
Say it louder for the people in the back sis! You just said a word! I don’t believe there is one way to have Amazing curl hair either! You’re so spot on with stating that! 💯 Please let us know how your hair turns out. I pray it’s okay! 💖🙏🏽
Remember, everyone deserves to be treated with dignity. Bullying is hurtful and harmful, and we should always strive to be understanding and supportive.
Hi Shelly! Found you from @curlscoilsandthings YT video. So glad you're sharing your experience openly because this is something I can say I've experienced if too much wasn't cut. However, I've also had enough cut and had very few problems with my hair. I think the stylist matters and we as consumers have to be responsible as well. I can see both sides, and you have every d*mn right to share your POV. I love your shape and boo to these people for bullying you. That isn't ok at all, especially from other Black women.
Hey Sis, I completely agree with you that the consumer has to take some responsibility too. That’s why I have gone out of my way not to blame my stylist that I worked with. Especially since I vetted them through CIK. Also, the last one I worked with actually teaches how to cut curly hair. So I felt like I was in really great hands especially with her! I still feel she did a great job because she gave me the shape I asked for. 💖 Either way, I’m just thankful to have figured out what was going on with my hair so now I can work on fixing it. 🙌🏽 Lastly, thank you so very much for sharing your thoughts. I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective. 🥰
So sorry for the bullying you've experienced. Thanks so much for sharing your story. I've experienced many of the things that you mentioned in this video. I've been getting curly cuts for a year and a half faithfully every 3 months with a CIK stylist. I've noticed that my hair is more difficult to detangle and I haven't been able to retain any length. Everytime I went in for a curly cut I walked out feeling like all the growth I had achieved was gone and then some. You have validated what I've been experiencing. I'm leaning toward getting my hair cut after a blowout as well. I feel like the cut will be more accurate and I'll be able to finally retain length. Your personality really shines and I'm so glad I found you. You've gained a new subscriber.
Aww thank you so very much Sis! 💖 Yeah it’s extremely frustrating to say the least. I have similar frustrations when it comes to the length retention aspect too. I feel like my hair length should be way further along than it is right now. If I can make a suggestion around getting a blown out cut? Try to find a curl specialist that feels comfortable cutting not only curly but also blown out hair. If not, go to a stylist that really knows how to cut. Have them follow the current shape of your hair (provided you like it). I did that and my shape was still shaping afterwards. Lastly, I’m sooooo glad you’re here with us! We are so very happy to have you be apart of our community! 🥰♥️🤗
@@shelly.v.247 Thanks so much for the suggestion. I do love my shape I just haven't been able to retain length. I'm going to ask my current CIK stylist if she is comfortable cutting on blown out hair. If she's not then hopefully I can find a curly specialist who is.
I love you and Rosie! glad you are sharing your experience. I can't believe ppl are bullying in this day and age. Ridiculous. I get my hair cuts on blown out hair because I wear a lot of stretched styles
Love the hair shelly , and you also have a new subscriber. So i big chopped again back in sept 2022. I found a bgc hairstylist in my area , and have since then gotten one curly cut so far. I really want to thank you and rosie for bringing this to my attention . I have a curly vist coming up in june , so i will have a talk with my stylist about it and i may start to incorporate some trims on blown out hair . Also the people that follow bgc are really extreme 🙃 and are bullies . I noticed this back when i was in the curl group that you had to pay monthly for , and while i loved it for the content . Which in my opinion was amazing , they literally go in depth about the structure of hair and everything . But the people were nasty and so rude , and judgemental so i left . I hate that you had to endure the bulling , its disgusting and disrespectful. I honestly think thats the reason i dont dabble in community of anything online because alot of people are extremist . I take in the information thats valuable and i forget the rest . Also please keep me updated on how trimming on blown out hair works for you ❤
Hi 👋🏽 💖Sis and welcome!!! 😍🤗 Thank you so very much for subscribing to my channel. I truly appreciate you and your support! 💯. I know exactly what you’re saying and I rarely come across anyone who says the opposite about that particular group. It’s really sad because they have a great platform and I learned a lot from them too. As for your hair, I’m so glad you’re going to partner with your stylist and devise a plan for how to proceed with your hair. Knowing what I know now, I’d separate both types of cuts. Curly cuts for strictly shape and blown out cuts to ensure all the split ends are being addressed. I say that because personally I just don’t see how they can all be addressed with curly cuts. I’ve heard several stylist say the same thing. However, there are those that say you can. My experience with both types of haircuts let’s me know I’m on the right track now for my hair. I will definitely keep you posted on how everything is going. I’m very curious to see what my ends look like during my next trim that’s scheduled in August. 💖
I’ve had mixed feelings about this method but what I realized for me and my house. We love wash and gos and modified curly cuts) but….we use bond builders because from experience the manipulation from weekly or bi weekly wash and gos and the unevenness of the cuts ( I feel like ends rub each other in haphazard ways ) we qualify for bond-building benefits! Now, yes that is an extra expense but we love the style and although our hair isn’t as happy our scalps are rejoicing! I just think we have to keep it real about all the manipulation we ar putting our hair through with these methods, especially if you have fine hair but bond-builders changed the game for our ends over here. Great video
I think you raise a valid point about the manipulation and the need for bond builders. I use them as well and will continue to use them due to the damage I sustained. Plus I think wearing WNG’s in general break down the protein bonds in the hair to some degree. So I’ll probably continue to use them. I personally don’t do any sort of curly cuts anymore because after my most recent haircut my hair is now all one length. So it translates into curly extremely well. It has alleviated any need for a curly cut tweak to my cut. Which I think there’s nothing wrong with getting a curly cut as long as the ends are maintained properly each time. As a result my ends are now really thick and I think they will be less compromised over time. At least I’m hoping that’s the case. 😅 Great points and thank you for sharing‼️💖💯
Hello Shelly . I just been you for a short time and it’s been because of the curlmix coaches Tammy Moore so I said she must be good . And watching you I really enjoy watching. I love your hair
Aww thank you beautiful and welcome aboard 😍. Also, I literally just met our girl Tammy in person today and was a jewel! ✨🙌🏽. Thank you for trusting me and for supporting yo girl Shelly! I truly appreciate you sis! 🥰😘
Remember, actions often speak louder than words. It's crucial to lead by example and demonstrate respectful behavior towards others, showing that bullying has no place in our interactions and relationships.
First of all, can we talk about your hairstyle?! 😍 I still can’t believe how you can be bullied on something that isn’t working for you. And you’re proving it with videos and pictures. Layering styling products shouldn’t create damaged ends, because it doesn’t make sense. First they say it’s raw oils & butters and now using ‘too many styling products’ should damage hair? But you’re doing the basic steps of cleansing, conditioning & styling? And now this is breaking hair? No, there must be more to this.😅 Many are sitting at home, wondering why their tight curly hair isn’t growing or is having a hard time at the ends. I’m pretty sure you & Rosie are helping some getting their hair investigated further. ❤
Hey Curlfriend! *I'm at **09:40** in your video* I know you are not suggesting anyone get their hair cut blown out, but your video has me wanting to blow my own hair out and take a look 👁👁 I got my first curly cut on 6/15/2022. My curly stylist does not cut on blown-out hair. I have been using CurlMix since 5/2022. I've been predominantly wearing a wash-n-go hairstyle for a little over one year. My WNGs look amazing. I want to see what my hair looks like blown out.
Hey Sis, I honestly think any of us who have been getting curly cuts should consider having their hair assessed. I know it’s an unsettling thing but knowledge is power! Please keep us posted on what you decide to do. I pray your hair is still okay! ♥️🙏🏽
Very interesting Ms Shelly! I’m following the whole wash condition style and curly cutting ‘system’ if you will. I’m finding what you’re saying intriguing bc I’m experiencing some of the things you’re talking about. However I haven’t gotten a blown out cut in YEARS! I might try that once to see how my ends are fairing. Thanks for the video, you’re amazing 🤩. Also, I’m sorry that you have to deal with all the unnecessary bullying, it’s crazy on these internet streets. You have my support 👍🏾 keep doing you
Thank you so very much beautiful! Please listen to your hair. My DM’s have been filled with women experiencing similar things. I was shocked when I blew my hair out after over a year. I wasn’t ready for what waited for me. 🫣 Please keep us posted on what you end up doing etc. 💖😘
Hi Shelly! I follow you on IG and interact often on your lives and in comments. I’m so sorry about the bullying. When will ppl learn to respect the opinions of others even if the disagree. It’s ridiculous. You’re much kinder about it than I’d be. Anyway, I’ve only had one curly cut. I wore straight cuts for years and my curly shape was unflattering. IMHO, I think the sweet spot is a straight cut to remove all split ends and then once styled curly, adjusting the shape. Just my opinion. 😊Keep doing you, Shelly ❤️❤️
Hi beautiful and thank you so very much for subscribing and supporting yo girl over here too!🤗 For some reason this question strikes a nerve which is even more concerning! I think you got it spot on. Curly cuts for shape and blown out for hair health. Your methodology is actually spot on IMHO!!! 💖🙏🏽
I really enjoy your channel. I stumbled upon your page while looking flowers of all things. Now I see that curly cuts are the subject of the month....whew!!! I also get curly cuts. I have been satisfied for the most part because I don't get my hair straightened. Because the hair is being cut curl by curl, and not all curls are the same length I wouldn't expect for it to be even once it's blown out. I hate that you and others are being bullied because of voicing opinions about your hair. That's just mean. I have been natural for over 40 years and there is always some new nonsense in the natural hair community. Continue putting out the great content.
So glad RUclips connected my channel to your search for flowers Sis! lol 😂 Interestingly enough, my hair looked beautiful with my curly cuts. However, I noticed over time that my hair started to become more and more difficult to detangle and style. The ends started to also feel like Velcro when wet. I would have never known the extent of the damage in my hair had I not blown it out. Were my curls uneven??? Of course! Like you you said, that was to be expected. But gurrlllll the split ends were ridiculous!!!! I’ll never fall for the new flavor of the month again! I’ve learned my lesson‼️💯😝 Lastly, thank you so very much for your comment. I truly appreciate you watching my video and sharing your thoughts. 💖
The Rezo Cut is bomb! 😍I love the look but I think for myself I feel a cut on blown out hair is essential for hair health. A curly cut is awesome for shape! Just my opinion for my hair. 💖
Hi! I noted on your 1st video I just found your channel. First, sorry to hear about the bullying. We get so caught up in these 'rules' which are really more like guidelines, folks fail to see what works for some may not work for all. This was such an interesting video. I have always got my curly hair cut on blown out hair. I've been natural since 2018, so not long. I tried a curly cut once and really didn't care for it. I have not had any issues and have always been fine with the shape. Do you and what works best for you. I'm here for it.
Hi beautiful! 💖 Sis you’re so lucky to have been getting cuts on blown out hair from the beginning! I started out that way but then I found BGC’s and switched from my stylist if 15 years to someone who specialized in tight curls. The next few months and year will be very interesting! Also, yes forget the rules just do what works well for you! Lastly, I love that you’re here and thank you for subscribing! 🤗💯😘
Hey Shelly! Thank you for sharing. I do currently get curly cuts and I have found my hair to be more challenging to get through when styling but I also do have color and I’m thinking that is factoring in. I’m seeing a new curl stylist next week so hopefully we can figure some things out.
I came from Narada's channel. Sorry that your hair got damaged. So frustrating. Yeah I get curly and straight cuts with the same stylist because consistency is a thing I desire/need? I'm neurodivergent so I can't be jumping from stylist to stylist...I'd rather do it myself if he's not available.
I’ve always gotten a curly cut so I’m curious as to what my ends look like presently. You mentioned you lost a lot of length after your curly cuts - I feel that way as well. So I changed my maintenance schedule for my dry curly cuts from 12 weeks to 16 weeks.
I tried switching to 16 weeks too Sis per my stylist recommendation but my hair just got worse and worse. Detangling became more challenging and so did styling. @AfrikanHairGod just did another video about curly cuts and his experience and it just confirms we ain’t crazy! There is something going on that’s not ideal but we are all still trying to fully figure it out. I pray your hair is okay! ♥️🙏🏽
Very interesting! I just started this No oils and butter process (7 months in). Before this, I was getting blow out cuts. Then rocked locs for 5 years. Now I’m back rocking my natural curls. I’m think every 6 months I will do a blow out cut to keep a close watch on my ends. Thanks for sharing your experience. SMH at the bullying but not surprised. 😢 Subscribing to your channel and maybe we can share info/collab sometime in the future.
Thank you so very much for subscribing to my channel and yes indeed! 💖 I wish I had known before I started getting curly cuts too. I’ve honestly had a lot of interesting hair experiences since starting the whole no oils and butters thing. However, I wasn’t a big oil & butter user prior. I think the biggest takeaway is being made aware of what could potentially happen and adjusting your approach. Sounds like you’re doing just that and I love that for you! 🥰
My pleasure Luv and it’s a very cool experience to get a cut done that way. 😍 Also, if you haven’t already done so, you may want to check out Rosie Amelia’s videos on her experience with Curl Cuts too. Just so you go into it fully aware and prepared. 🥰
Shelly I really enjoyed this video and that you so much for sharing 🥰💙.. I only get trims on blown out hair .. I never had a curly cut (May do it one day just to see how it would look 🤔) .. I really like how your WNGs always look beautiful! 🥰💙
Aww thank you Luv! 🥰If I ever get another curly cut I’d cut my hair blown out first then follow up with a curly cut for the meticulous shape. However, I feel really thankful because my hair looks just as good if not better with the cut on blown out hair as it did with the curly cuts. Not to mention, my ends definitely feel way better now too! ♥️🙏🏽
Thank you beautiful! It’s not the actual cutting itself. I believe it’s what’s not cut and left behind which are unaddressed split ends. They start to snowball over time and before I knew it my head was chalked full of them! 🫣
Be sure to create some workout content for us! I’m a new natural, over 50 and want to compete in a figure competition one day. Nutrition is no joke. Thanks for sharing. ❤
You got it! I’ve been slacking big time but as I get back into the groove I’ll definitely share that part as well. Super excited for your goal of competing! That’s such an awesome goal! ✨💪🏽💯
So sorry you had to endure this. I’m naturally curly since all of my life kind of-at 67 years old, because my hair never would hold a straight perm. In the past 20 years I have bounced from a barber to deva cuts, to a lady in my town who has her own cut style, well Original Moxie who is great, to another curly stylist in my town who follows her own curly cutting style, as well, but all great curly stylists. Then since covid and due to not having my $$ in a row, I have cut it myself a couple of times, well several. I have been putting off cutting for about 6 months right now, but I have been wanting to try a straightened cut for a couple of years but felt like I might be betraying the “movement” so to speak. I also watched Rosie and saw the disappointed look on her face. All that to say that when I return home from vacation, I am going to get my hair blown out and assessed by a stylist that I have heard is good with natural and/or straight hair. They say that she is very flexible and is very good. I was kind of appalled to hear that only seven people were “certified” by the wash your damn hair thingy that I never followed to a T, but I did go with the no oils or butters for the last idk maybe 2 years. Sorry for the rambling. I’ll stop now. Lol.
Haha well I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited to hear your next approach to your hair. I think not only will it safe you money but also be great for your hair health. Just make sure whoever trims it follows the current shape of your current cut. 💖
Haha thank you beautiful! 🥰Ain’t no body got time to be trying to lay edges all the time! 🤣 I smooth them when I’m doing my wash and go and that’s usually it!
Okay….I heard, “Let me land this plane….” and I was Done!! 🤣 You are naturally funny which I LOVE!! You have got me thinking about getting a 2nd trim (I’ve been natural for 19 months/Big Chopped 6 months in). But, I’ve never blown out my hair since going natural. I have not used a blow dryer (on high setting) or flat iron and really don’t want any heat damage. Should I just wait and self trim on twists when I transition to twist outs in late Fall? Anybody have any insights???
Haha 😂 you got me over here laughing! 😆 Do you have a stylist or do you just maintenance your hair on your own? I wouldn’t recommend using heat unless you can go to a professional that knows what they are doing. Meaning they have receipts of blowing out hair and it reverting back perfectly. If not maybe consider stretching your hair naturally with twist, braids or a flexirod set etc. Then check your ends that way. Hopefully that all makes sense? 💖😅
Hey beaut! I’ve been following these unfortunate circumstances. Sorry that you and Rosie had to go through this damage (and others) but I am happy to see that you are both strong and doing well in your routines. I didn’t follow BGC because I’ve always loved my hair regimen, and I also love oils and butters (In formulated products however). I have been using the kinky curly system for years and since you mentioned that you use the knot today, what do you think about adding the kinky curly perfectly polished hair oil to your routine? (As the system doesn’t contain any oils)🌻
I can't believe I'm witnessing a day when someone is being bullied for doing what's best for their hair and their hair goals. If you choose to get straight cuts, what is the issue? SMH....
Exactly! It’s crazy! I think the issue is that I didn’t get a straight cut in private. I openly talked about it. So that’s where the bullying began. It’s so unfortunate Sis. 😞We are all free to do what’s right for our own hair. 💖💯
I'm having such a hard time getting in to see my stylist that lives near my home, and the other one I see is about a 2.5 hr drive. The drive I don't mind but, scheduling is still a factor (more on my end) for that distance. I get in to see my colorist with some regularity and I am seriously thinking I may let her blow out and cut my hair and just follow the shape as best she can🤣🤣🤣 I don't want to do a color service without a cut. It won't make sense for the health of my hair nor the style. But I can definitely see that there could be value in alternating or adding in a straight cut amongst the curly cuts or vice versa- blow out straight for an ends check and maintenance if needed and curly cut to maintain the shape. If there is clear communication I think it can be a win win situation. Thankfully my curl artist could do either, and she would be able to honestly let me know the pros and cons of each. I can only imagine that out where you are, that may be a difficult task, so you are left with seeing multiple stylists. Your friend did a great job though and I believe she fully understands what you are trying to acheive.
I think it’s a win win situation because you seem to know exactly what it is you need and want for YOUR HAIR. I love that for you. Now it’s just putting all the pieces together to make it all work. 💖
Trust your gut. If you think it's the curly cut, it's the curly cut. Also, in my experience, even if your hair is on the longer side, you can still achieve shape through styling methods (lots and lots of bobby pins 😉) that mean you don't have to sacrifice length for shape.
I agree! 💯My gut tells me curly cuts are not addressing my hairs health only it’s shape. So far my shape looks great with the cut I got on blown out hair. My stylist did an amazing job! 💖🙌🏽
I just used Papaya Slip as my base, but I was afraid to use it as one and done, so I topped it with Mop Top. It’s a great combo so far-feels and looks great on day one.
Oh I love it! I wouldn’t have thought to use PS as a base gel or a one and done. I’m not sure my hair would be silky enough for it. Adding the mop top was so creative too. Nice work sis! 💖
@@shelly.v.247 lol. I actually tried the PS as a base because I wet my hair to wash it and realized I didn’t have other bases that I normally use. My first time ordering direct from Innersense, and it’s taking forever. Back to Ulta next time.
I do curly cuts. I feel it's my job to tell ppl how much split ends they have and I have to comply with how much they want to have cut off. Some know they have about 2 inches or more of split ends but tell me they do not want to lose length. I understand their reasons but I make sure they know they have more to go! Honesty goes a long way. And I am DevaCurl certified (since 2015) but I have always done a mix of what I learned from what I learned in school and what I learned from my Curly Hair grandma's. In the end you need common sense. A strand by strand cut is not going to work if your hair is way toasted or if you want a specific cut like a "wolf cut" or layered. U gonna be there forever n miss spots. Also, I advise more stylists to practice on their 4c friends and if u don't have none start getting them. I have 2-3c thick hair so I had a lot to learn and learn from my own customers too. Remember we are the 1st generation to accept our curls so everyone is still figuring it out. Also, I tell my ppl no earlier than 4months, check your curl, if u think u can hold out another month do so but u definitely gonna know when u need a cut. Just be real with the health of ur hair and have a stylist that Knows. Ppl rely on how many likes or certified.. that don't mean s*. Look at their work. See if they don't just do 2c all day. Also, be heard. Tell me what cut u want, how short not to take it but you have to be honest with yourself too and don't expect miracles from a trim when u know u needed more than that. 😂 Nice vid btw, and best of luck w ya curls!
Getting your haircut every 3 months exactly is not gonna make your hair grow btw. U just end up to square 1. I just don't know why the hell u still had toasty ends
I truly respect and appreciate everything you have stated. 💖💯 The concerning part for me is that anyone who’s been following me knows I’ve had a ton of hair cut since I started my curl journey. I openly told the stylist to take whatever she felt needed to go. Until I went from being able to touch my bra strap with my stretched curls to barely the center of my neck. Literally I required an edge up after my first curly cut but I was 💯good with it too! My next routine curly cut had about 3 inches taken off. She said she didn’t realize how much she had taken. Even my shape was changed. I’m not gonna lie, I was not happy about it and I let her know it. The next one, I found a great stylist in a different state and traveled to go see her. The cut she gave me required that I get lots of layers to achieve my inspiration hair. She did a fantastic job too. 😍🤌🏽 Each time I was told I had extremely healthy hair and to keep doing what I was doing and do not change a thing. So it’s very frustrating and confusing to end up where I’m at now. I feel like I’ve finally connected the dots as to what happened to my hair. I’ve made adjustments to my hair care routine and I’m already seeing big improvements. Lastly, if some of these methods are relatively new how do we really know the long term effects of them on our hair? My guess is we really don’t. So it’s important for us to continue to share our experiences because that’s how we learn and will continue to grow. 💖🙌🏽 Thank you so very much for your awesome comment. It’s always greatly appreciated anytime a stylist chimes in. 💯 Stay blessed 🥰
I'm a licensed hair stylist with over 20 years of experience. I and many other professionals PREFER blowing out for cuts. Curly cuts don't offend me. To each it's own. The stylists that try to Jedi mind trick naturals into believing that their way is the ONLY way are more focused on protecting their brand and bottom line $$$ Which is smart from a business perspective. But It's also possible to simply say this is my preferred method and I can't speak on methods, products and techniques that I don't practice. But chile that crowd is rough 😂😂😂 I enjoy your content and your pleasant disposition. You hair is lovely and I look forward to seeing your progress.
I absolutely love hearing the professionals weigh in and their opinions on this topic. Thank you for sharing your thoughts because a lot of curly girls and guys feel paralyzed through fear that we are going to jack up our hair if we 1. Blow it out 2. Get a cut on blown out hair 3. Go against what’s considered the way to get one’s curls cut. I personally have noticed a big improvement in my curls since choosing a different cutting method. Blow out cuts are my jam now‼️🤣 Also, thank you for following my journey and watching my content. I truly appreciate it! 💖🥰🤗
I am not part of the group you mentioned but I have followed some of stylists on socials and I wondered about the specific cutting technique they teach. I hate that you went through bullying, that just is not right. I think individuals have to do what is best for them and there is not a 'one size fits all' technique. I have been natural since 2007 and have gotten all types of cuts for my fine strands - C cut, Deva cut, general curly cut, blown out precision cut, etc. At the end of the day people have to do what is best for them whether it is a curly cut, precision cut or combination of everything.
Your hair is beautiful 😮 Pls don’t feel the need to apologize for your own experience regarding a standard that many are following, but is not working for you. I too learned that the hard way after transitioning and following common protocols out there. It didn’t work for me and I had to pivot to what does. My hair is flourishing now and I’m not apologizing to anyone. Keep doing you and be firm about your choices. I admire you and your style. ‘New follower! Michelle
Hi Michelle and thank you so very much beautiful! I appreciate your kind words & support a ton! I’m so glad to hear your heir is thriving. I pray to be there with you soon Sis! 😍♥️🙏🏽
Your hair is healthy and that is what I truly notice, when seeing others hair. I find it cringe to see a women with unhealthy hair lol. Your hair looks good lol you can style it as you please. 🤷🏽♀️ A-lot of curly hair youtubers are now are dying their hair to the point of no return. 🙄 That doesn’t look good to me because it’s basically already dead hair.
Right. ✊🏽 I was called sooo many names by my brother and dad once i first big chopped (I had 1 inch of hair). “mama Africa, Dr.phill, and professor x. Now they just ask me… What do you use ? How did your hair grow so quickly ? I hit waist length in 3 years. 😭 Sometimes it’s a faze but if you like your hair shorter, That’s your style and choice. Haters can hate but that’s how God made us. 🤷🏽♀️ People (majority/average) tend to like looser and longer natural hair. Like i have very frizzy hair but once it’s tamed you’ll see 3b/3c/4a curls. I can pick it out (no definition) and have it look almost like 4C. I can see the difference in how people look at me 😭🤦🏽♀️ I have been told not to wear my hair out in a fro or dry picked out. I think people that stare just find it beautiful. Their racism eats them alive and makes them say a rude comment or the famous line. “I’ve never touched black hair before, can i touch your hair?” Ummm no. Plus you aren’t black so why would you expect to have touched a bunch of black hair textures ? Racism is still so strong here in 2023. Going natural taught me that it is not just other races being racist to black women’s hair textures. Most stares and comments are coming from our own women and men hating on being natural. I’m so proud i put the chemicals down and now love my own natural curls. 😁 Plus i got my own bundles now, I want my hair to hit the flooor! 🤣👀🤷🏽♀️
@@shelly.v.247 so a woman can be type 4. But have 4a in one section b in another c in another so it's not a reflection on the state or health of your hair cause it will all look different in it's curly state so when you blow it out it looks bad .. cause our curl pattern isn't uniform
@christy7516 I totally understand that and you’re correct in what you’re saying. However, my hair changed with this method for the worse. I’ve had texture changes due to the lipid layer being removed. I’ve also been curly before and so luckily I have a baseline for how my hair should look and feel when both curly and straight. What I’m dealing with right now is severely damaged hair. 😓
Yasssssss sis! I actually just posted a quick reel on my instagram page. I showed how I accomplished this look. I’m happy to do it in longer form if you’re interested? Lmk 🤗😘
Curly cuts are only intended if you plan on wearing your hair in it’s naturally curly state 100% of the time. If you ever intend to blow out your hair, even once, you should NEVER get a curly cut. I have never gotten one because I always knew I would blow out my hair occasionally, and I wanted the versatility of wearing my hair straight or curly.
I get what you’re saying Sis but I personally don’t have a desire to wear my hair blown out right now. I wear my hair curly 99% of the time with the exception of a slicked back bun here and there. My concern isn’t what my hair looks like when straightened. My concern is the health of my hair, particularly the ends. Curly cuts for some reason did not fully address my ends. After several curly cuts my ends were extremely split up. Which makes no sense because I got routine cuts/trims. I even had a corrective cut where a significant amount of my hair was cut. So you’d think my hair would have minimal to no split ends but yet it was full of them. For me that’s the concern and the issue. Since getting a trim on blown out hair, my curly hair is easier to detangle and style. Also, when I got my hair blown out for my trim, I didn’t wear it that way. I immediately washed it and went right back into my wash and go. 💖
@@shelly.v.247 hi sis so i was responding to the comment above that said maybe the stylist shears were dull. I feel like the BGC community always find a reason to blame everyone else; their own CIK stylists and clients that have been following their tips religiously rather than maybe think the problem could be with some of their methods
Hi Shelly! I started following you when you liked a comment that I made on another channel.😊 As I started following you, I discovered that you are a hair vlogger and since I am a natural curly girl also, I decided to continue to watch and learn from you. I absolutely love your hair and want to attain the same look. I love the wash n go's but I need to learn to do them. When I tried to attempt to try the style, I ended up with single strand knots and I fear those!! BTW, I am a new subbie!
Welcome Sis and thank you for the wonderful compliments! 🥰 Not that I’m trying to get you to follow me on Instagram but I do LIVES where I style my hair for my curl friends. It’s a great time to learn from each other and ask questions. Please join because I think it’d be very helpful for you. 💖🤗
Hi Curl Friends! 👋🏽🥰 I’ve been dismissing some of the bullying I’ve experienced due to talking about my own personal experience with getting curly cuts. Not only have I read and heard things on my own but I’ve also been sent stuff from others. 😢
It’s never okay to bully anyone for any reason but especially over THEIR OWN HAIR! It’s unreal to even have to say that! 😑
I’ll be honest, it took a lot for me to speak up about my experience with curly cuts because of the obvious. However, I didn’t think I’d be treated poorly over it. 😤
Please know I’m not bad mouthing curly cuts. I actually think they are beautiful! I’m just choosing to move in a different direction right now based off of my own experiences. So I’m not suggesting you stop getting them at all. What I am suggesting however is that you always do what works and is best for YOUR HAIR. 💯
Thank you and I welcome your thought and feedback. 🤗
Xoxo Shelly 💖
i’m so sorry you had to go through all of that! bullying is so rough, especially when it’s from people you used to trust!
sending love your way 💜💜
@@jungled_hudiekd Aww thank you beautiful and I agree💯💖
Forget the haters. They are more than likely jealous of your hair. Don’t even give any attention to those people.
@@bernitacunningham3738 It’s so sad to even think people can be like that. It’s so disheartening 😞
Can you ❤show us how to get this do please
It would be nice for them to come out snd say we are looking into why our clients are experiencing this ‼️
There are so many questions I currently have with their entire process ‼️
I’m feeling the same Rosie. And I beg to differ……you’re the most kind! 😍💯🤗😘
Don't let these immature people tell you what to do. It is your hair. Keep it moving. Love your content.
Thank you beautiful! I ain’t studding them at all! I got bigger fish to fry! 👀😆
Thank you so very much for your love and support Sis! It’s truly appreciated‼️💖🤗
We seem to live in a time where people aren’t allowed to have a difference of opinion.
That the truth Queen 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉God bless you right now 🙏
Thank you for sharing your experience.
All of this is very interesting and so very sad at the same time. I truly believed this new approach to my hair I had implemented was the truth! It’s all just been so disheartening to find it the exact opposite for my hair. 😞
Now I carry the weight of being accused by some of doing the wrong thing by sharing my personal experience etc. This whole situation has just been draining and awful! 😓
Also thank you so very much for all of your love and support! I truly appreciate it more than you’ll ever know. Especially right now‼️♥️💯
Shelly I have a very similar experience.
Would love to hear how your hair continues to thrive!
Found you from Narada! It's ok if you don't want to be shady, he'll do it for you XD
I’m weak!!! Lol 👀🫣🤣…..Also, thank you for being a new subby! I truly appreciate your support Luv! 💖🙏🏽
So sad that women can't support one another!! We think you're absolutely amazing!!!💞
Thank you beautiful! It’s very sad and disheartening! It’s been a hard pill to swallow but luckily yo girl has very thick skin. 🥰🤗😘
As commented on Rosie's page, the culprit may be the quality of the shears. Bad shears can do serious damage regardless of the type of cut.
Hi beautiful and thank you so very much!!! 🥹💖🙏🏽I truly appreciate all the Luv and support because it ain’t been easy Sis! 👀🫣
I also want to say it is not okay to get bullied. That’s unacceptable. You have the sweetest soul and didn’t deserve it.
I’ll have to keep the layering question in my mind when I go to get my straight assessment. Thanks.
Sis, first off thank you so very much for speaking up. Your words hold a ton of weight because you are one of our experts! 💯
Second, I’ve had several curly friends slide into my DM’s and share their pics and or experience and what you’re is spot on!
Thank you again because your words and voice are invaluable!!!!
So very true and thank you so very much beautiful! I appreciate your words of encouragement! 💯🤗
I recently reimplemented them back into my hair care routine because the stylist who blew my hair out to cut it said my hair felt very hard, rough and dry! 😑
So I’m trying to get my hair to bounce back but my fear is some uncorrectable damage has been done.
Only time will tell. However, I’m excited because I feel like I definitely will reach my length goal sooner this way. Plus my overall hair will now be healthier once I do! 💖🙏🏽
Thank you for your awesome testimony on trimming the hair while straight.
Also, I absolutely love hearing that curly cuts are addressing all of your hairs needs! That’s the perfect scenario Sis! 🙌🏽
Lastly, yeah it’s a shame that people feel it’s okay to bully others because they don’t like their personal choices. That’s still just so crazy to me! ☹️
My stylist cuts my hair stretched out, but not blown out and then once it is styled and curls are dry she goes back in and finalizes the shape. She is proficient in a variety of different curl cut techniques and decides which is right for your hair type and needs.
Omgoodness that sounds AMAZING 😍💯. You’re so fortunate and blessed to have such a talented stylist! 🙌🏽
How does she cut it stretched out but not blown out?
Shelllllly!!! I’m tired of being bald headed tooo!! I DONT want to embrace short hair !! I’m tired Chile !!!

Thank you again Sis and I can’t wait to hear your hair flourishes moving forward! 🙌🏽♥️💃🏽
@@shelly.v.247 thank you so much! I was growing my hair out when it happened and became very discouraged at the time. I may try to grow it out again but my main goal is to just have healthy hair.
@@SimplyTamz I’m in the same exact boat! Healthy hair is my priority but it sure would be nice to grow it out again.
Sis you being waaaay too nice !! I know I’m about to be jacked up because I can feel these damn splits now !!
Ugh that’s the worse! 😫I’m so sorry because I know that’s extremely frustrating!!! It literally makes me upset every time I think about it! 😣
Please let us know how your hair turns out. I pray it’s okay! 💖🙏🏽
Remember, everyone deserves to be treated with dignity. Bullying is hurtful and harmful, and we should always strive to be understanding and supportive.
I agree 100% 💖💯
Either way, I’m just thankful to have figured out what was going on with my hair so now I can work on fixing it. 🙌🏽
Lastly, thank you so very much for sharing your thoughts.
@@rockthenatural My pleasure Luv! Lmk how it goes because you know nosy! 😆💖🤗
I love you and Rosie! glad you are sharing your experience. I can't believe ppl are bullying in this day and age. Ridiculous. I get my hair cuts on blown out hair because I wear a lot of stretched styles
And we love you too Sis! I honestly think whether you wear stretched styles or not, I think your approach is key! 💖💯
Great points and thank you for sharing‼️💖💯

Remember, actions often speak louder than words. It's crucial to lead by example and demonstrate respectful behavior towards others, showing that bullying has no place in our interactions and relationships.
Great words and so very true! 💖💯
Totally agree sis! Btw, I absolutely love and appreciate you and your content! You’re one super talented and smart cookie! 😍💯✨🙌🏽
Well said, Sis❤❤💖💖🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you, beautiful! I truly appreciate your love and support!❤️🙏🏽
Please keep us posted on what you end up doing etc. 💖😘
Hi beautiful and thank you so very much for subscribing and supporting yo girl over here too!🤗
For some reason this question strikes a nerve which is even more concerning!
So glad RUclips connected my channel to your search for flowers Sis! lol 😂
Interestingly enough, my hair looked beautiful with my curly cuts.
I’ve learned my lesson‼️💯😝
Lastly, thank you so very much for your comment. I truly appreciate you watching my video and sharing your thoughts. 💖
I love getting my hair cut curly, especially the Rezo cut. But I probably should look into getting my hair cut on a blowout
The Rezo Cut is bomb! 😍I love the look but I think for myself I feel a cut on blown out hair is essential for hair health. A curly cut is awesome for shape! Just my opinion for my hair. 💖
Yes, you go girl enjoy your hair and do what works for your lifestyle and hair.
I will and thank you beautiful! ♥️🥰🤗
My pleasure beautiful. I’m curious to hear how your new stylist addresses your concerns. Please keep us posted! 💖🙏🏽
Hi beautiful and welcome! 🤗 You’re so lucky that your stylist is willing and can do both. 💖🙌🏽 A lot have said they won’t. 🫣
You have beautiful hair!
Thank you so very much Luv! 💖
Subscribing to your channel and maybe we can share info/collab sometime in the future.
Thanks for the video. Very informative. I’m having my first curly cut this month.
My pleasure Luv and it’s a very cool experience to get a cut done that way. 😍 Also, if you haven’t already done so, you may want to check out Rosie Amelia’s videos on her experience with Curl Cuts too. Just so you go into it fully aware and prepared. 🥰

Your hair looks great! Thank you for not doing your edges. Proof your hair can look great without doing edges.
Do you have a stylist or do you just maintenance your hair on your own?
I wouldn’t recommend using heat unless you can go to a professional that knows what they are doing. Meaning they have receipts of blowing out hair and it reverting back perfectly.
If not maybe consider stretching your hair naturally with twist, braids or a flexirod set etc. Then check your ends that way. Hopefully that all makes sense? 💖😅

Aww thank you so very much Sis! 🥰
Hey girl, thank you for the info!!! Now I know where to start with regular cuts. Where is the girl that gave you your final trim?
Hi Sis! 🥰She’s located in Arizona. Her IG handle is referenced in the video if you want to contact her. 💖
Hi Luv! 🥰 I’m so glad you stuck to your regimen that worked for you! What a blessing! 🙌🏽
I’ll definitely look into that product and thank you! 💖😘
@@sphanksjohns Haha I feel ya because ain’t nobody got time to be waiting on a delivery to happen. We need it now!!!! 😆
The concerning part for me is that anyone who’s been following me knows I’ve had a ton of hair cut since I started my curl journey.
Each time I was told I had extremely healthy hair and to keep doing what I was doing and do not change a thing.
Thank you so very much for your awesome comment. It’s always greatly appreciated anytime a stylist chimes in. 💯
Stay blessed 🥰
Your 2nd message….. lol 👀🫣🤣
Blow out cuts are my jam now‼️🤣
Also, thank you for following my journey and watching my content.
I agree 💯with you sis! We just need to be able to all make an informed decision. From there it’s each person’s choice. 💖
Your hair is beautiful 😮
Pls don’t feel the need to apologize for your own experience regarding a standard that many are following, but is not working for you.
It's a shame that you're getting bullied for what you're doing to your own hair. Ridiculous! Haters gonna hate.
It’s so unfortunate and disheartening but thankfully I have beautiful curl friends like you! 💖🙏🏽
My goal and desire is to have healthy hair. If it’s not healthy, I don’t want it. 😅
I think that most natural hair folks have different patterns so a curly cut will not be a reflection of the health of your hair
Can you elaborate a bit more please. I don’t think I really understand what you’re saying. Thank you. 💖
Let’s Be Real Curly Hair Rules
Haha, yes indeed! 😍✨🙌🏽
but could we get a tutorial on this hair style?
Yasssssss sis! I actually just posted a quick reel on my instagram page. I showed how I accomplished this look. I’m happy to do it in longer form if you’re interested? Lmk 🤗😘
@@shelly.v.247 yes please! I'm on RUclips more than insta
You’re super cute- no worries
Haha, thank you 🥰
Who else is here from @Africanhairgod ❤
Haha you’re about to get the whole story! 👀🫣🤣
Maybe the shears were dull.
👀🫣🤣……Sorry to laugh but that was one of the things I was also told. However, I went to two different stylist. You got me cracking up right now! 🤣
Y'all been conditioned to blame everyone else than the actual problem... and that's sad
@@Finetextureglow Hey sis can you elaborate on your comment please? I’d love to understand it better. Thanks.
@@Finetextureglow Oh okay that’s what I was thinking but I didn’t want to assume. Your points are great ones and very valid to me! 💯
