    My brother bought a Frito Lay box truck back in the 70's.
    He had a rig on the back of the truck holding the generator and water tanks.
    He drove around the country painting new build construction,and loved it.

    wise Move ! I am here in east Tenn. USA and after much research on all trucks/vans , Have decided to also settle on a small bread Truck , steel frame, aluminum wall and skin frame , easy to work on the engine, nice width, height, and length. and can design build to my needs. Look forward to seeing future vids, keep up the good work.

    I got a original idea. When I was planing to get a step van to do. If you want to try this? You alway will be parking with the right side to the off street view. So I was going to make a 2 story floor on the right middle to back. And I was going to cut put back the cutout on tracks so you can slide it to the front and get the back all open as a porch. It’s high so people will walk below and can’t see you. Put chair out there and a table with a high view.
    At the bottom you have a straight up stairs and underneath you put a bed or storage.
    2 story would be so cool and nobody has done this before. You world be the first.

    Wow, that’s a lot of solar😁 It’s going to be a delight to watch you customize the new ride! I have to laugh to myself because back in the early 80’s I kept telling hubby, I want a camper van. He comes home one day driving a step van😱👍😂 it had been an old bread truck! Lol well In the mean time our new business took off and we never had time to do anything with it so we sold it to a friend and he made it into his tool storage and did some mobile repairs. Best of luck in the new adventure😉👍

    Been thinking on this for some time. Each type of truck has its selling points and drawbacks. Started by looking at step vans, but many of them have an open cockpit, and I wanted privacy. So I started to look at cutaway vans. Unfortunately, cutaway vans are arbitrarily no longer than 16 feet in the box and 95% have roll-up rear doors. So, now I'm swinging back towards a step van again because they can more easily be 18 feet from the rear of the driver's seat., and they're more likely to have barn doors in the rear.

As for size, as I said it's about the same as a Sprinter, it's smaller than some vehicles I've had before, not a problem.🤷‍♂️

I daydream about doing this when I retire or as a stealth-type RV for vacations when kids are older, etc. Love my life now, and nice to still have things to look forward to. I have watched many tiny house-camper videos, and always thought that step vans seemed the best size/space/cost trade-off.

    Wow I'm blown away how simplistic The dash & cab are! I was expecting to see a big old obnoxious stick shift and more components. The setup is pretty much the same as my simple to 02 Ford van. Exact same steering wheel and easy peasy automatic shift just turn the key and you're instantly on your nest next adventure. I to drove a diesel for a while with my old job loud stinky and you had to warm it up for a while hated that and also freaking out and get all pissed off driving around on empty trying to find a diesel gas place.+ out of all the vehicles I've owned and I'm 50 now Ford was the easiest to find parts for in the least to break down. Looking forward to the build videos Justin. KORITFW✌

    Yes. Doing the re-title is a very good thing for saving money. My yearly registration dropped 75% and my insurance dropped 50%. but most tolls and bridge crossings are prices set on axle/wheel count. With 6 wheels i get dinged sometimes. like going to NYC in a regular passenger car is about 1/5th the price as for me. Also Wow that's some batteries!. good luck building the stuff you want to add

    • @JCredTV
      @JCredTV  5 лет назад

      Wow never heard of axle charges, we certainly don't have that here. Private vehicles and commercial vehicles have their own toll rates, axles are irrelevant. Also, the BC Government recently removed all bridge tolls.
