Brent Hinds of Mastodon is often less than serious, so what better way to demonstrate his signature Orange Terror amp than to dispense with logic and attempt to get inside the mind of the man himself. Fantastic work Colin 😂 It is quite clear that you enjoyed yourself while making this video. Easily my favorite video of yours and probably the best gear demo I’ve ever watched. Love it!
Wow!!!! Wtf man ? That was the most bad ass song ive heard in way way too damn long. Not sure if i understood right. If that song is your work. If it is, then you have a massive obligation to all the heavy music deprived people of this planet. You have been damned to create an entire album in the manner of this song.
This song was indeed my own work. It is the result of listening through all the Mastodon albums for research, drop tuning the guitar to A and playing the first thing that came to my hands. It basically wrote itself.
Well u need to repeat that pricess a few more times. Im being very honest. Ive listened to thr song several times now and ouldnt wait to leave work to listen to it in my car imstead if headphones. Have been scouring the net for a long time trying to find a new band that just kills it. And you havr been right here all along seriously man. Very good work. Please.........MORE !!!
Absolutely awesome, this video couldn't have come at a better time. Great job Colin, appreciate the work you put in your content it definitely shows brother.
You can even sing? That's awesome! Also, I'd like to take a crack at mixing that song ;). I find it very likely that you won't let me, but I can try...
Fair play mate I pissed myself laughing through this one 😂 drunk reviews ftw 😜 hopefully catch up at a wildfire soon man be great to catch up! Keep it loud from me and the Kane’D crowd man!
Hahahahahaha. Awesome. I love March of the Fire Ants No one uses that riff enough! Nice job with the shirt graphic That’s some attention to detail sir! Double Cheers
The volume knob controls the level, which means how high the signal is The high knob controls the high frequency, either boosting or cutting The mid knob controls frequencys betwen the high and bass frequencys The bass control knob controls the bass frequency The swiggly line makes the amp go grrgrrgrr
This is cool - I'm not normally a fan of Orange amps, I find them a bit dark, but I like the sound of this. Think it sounds a like a cracking punk amp.
Hey Colin, can you please make a full detailed vid about making pickups? Because i want to start making my own and I love yours. (I already watched your will it shred? Pickup science vid) cheers, keep up the great work. Love the channel
Props for going to vocals route! Too many reviews call their tracks 'songs' when there is no singing...... Not that I care about vocals either way, just my inner pedant struggles with the 'song' denomination for things that are most definitely not songs.
That's a pretty low note for a 6 string, especially for one of that scale length. Just curious, what guages are you using, and do they feel uncomfortably floppy? If you don't mind me asking... Also, is the HoF2 doing wonders for you? I'm thinking of getting one, mainly attracted to the shimmer.
Oh, I wondered why this appeared on Spotify the other day. You're welcome for 0.00000000000001p for that listen :) I was laughing then, but it's even better with the video!

this is a without a doubt one of your best videos, good job
Absolutely awesome, this video couldn't have come at a better time. Great job Colin, appreciate the work you put in your content it definitely shows brother.
Finally a review of this amp where a mastodon song is being played.
You can even sing? That's awesome! Also, I'd like to take a crack at mixing that song ;). I find it very likely that you won't let me, but I can try...
That HM-2 sounds brutal!
Never a such thing as enough Swedish. 🤘
Fair play mate I pissed myself laughing through this one 😂 drunk reviews ftw 😜 hopefully catch up at a wildfire soon man be great to catch up! Keep it loud from me and the Kane’D crowd man!
Wow. You even did the greenscreen shirt. Bravo.
Hahahahahaha. Awesome. I love March of the Fire Ants
No one uses that riff enough!
Nice job with the shirt graphic
That’s some attention to detail sir!
Double Cheers
This is killer! Nice vox Colin! Glad to be seeing more content from. You again.
Who's got the last laugh now Orange?
That bid just got me xD
Possibly the best amp review I have seen. I wish I had found this sooner.
You have outdone yourself with this one. Keep up the good work!
Quality content as always. Keep up the good work
Loved it. Great review. I definitely appreciated all the extra effort that went into this one.
This is the best video ever dude, reaaaaaally nice job!
By far the most entertaining review of any kind of gear I've seen on RUclips! Awesome Video, I can only imagine all he hours you must've put in to it.
This has got to be the best review of this amp that I’ve seen !!!
Hahahaha! Fantastic Colin. This amp does sound really damn good for those kind of sludgy, doomy metal tones. That track is also awesome. Great review!
That riff and song blew me away. Please do more solo metal stuff.
Great video man. Possibly my favourite apart from the HM-2 and MT2 All The Gain video.
The volume knob controls the level, which means how high the signal is
The high knob controls the high frequency, either boosting or cutting
The mid knob controls frequencys betwen the high and bass frequencys
The bass control knob controls the bass frequency
The swiggly line makes the amp go grrgrrgrr
Freakin great vid bruv! Good work!
This was both a great and honest review, and quite fun!
Did not expect any of this. Fucken awesome!!!!
This is cool - I'm not normally a fan of Orange amps, I find them a bit dark, but I like the sound of this. Think it sounds a like a cracking punk amp.
I wanted this amp before this review.....now I really want this amp
OMG WTF. Colin's SCREAMS ARE A GOD SEND
Awesome review as always !
Nice vocals man!
Great playing and vocals!!!
We need more of your songs, Colin!
Love the vocals.
I had this song on loop for about 5 hrs
I'm glad we cleared up that you are in fact, not a mammoth. Good video.
Your vocals sound impressively similar to Brendon Small, and great song dude! :)
Opening tune. Nice.
New subscriber.
Brilliant on every level
Colin this song rips! Cheers from California
That was hysterical!
"I'm not a Mammoth!"
Did you know that Mammoth was a band that eventually changed its name to Van Halen?
Ive been walkin' around screaming "I'm not a Mammoth, I'm not a Mammoth." Nice.
I was waiting for this
I picked 2 of these on closeout from Musicians Friend Stupid deal of the day for $299 and at that price it’s a no brainer! I dig it so far!
oh my satan you are sining
The statue of a mammoth with a red "x" through it, really signified that he's not a mammoth. Clever
Funny and instructive at the same time! :D
Wow dude! You got one hell of a scream!
He just gets more badass every day
Your singing is awesome would love to see some more of that :D ;)
Hey Colin, can you please make a full detailed vid about making pickups? Because i want to start making my own and I love yours. (I already watched your will it shred? Pickup science vid) cheers, keep up the great work. Love the channel
It sounds like a giant ass fuzz pedal! Badass video Colin keep it up!
Love the song man!
Bought it 🤘
This video is brilliant.
Dude your vocals are fuckin crazy good!!!
I also have an ibanez art 120, and love it. quick question wich pickups and nut have you changed to? greetings from BCN
This is badass Colin! Didn't know you could scream like that! :D
This sounds so badass :D
holy shit man i miss the days when i was B standard, also the amp sounds freaking great!
Great job!
Sweet lord, the HM-2 sounded godly
🤘Cheers from Chicago!
I haven't had this good of a laugh in a while
That song was dope and I'm not even a metal head.great vid and funny.
Great video, great amp
Some say Colin got so close to Mastodon's sound that he had to pay copyright.
The track at the start is badass
Colin Scott
Each day you fall deeper under his spell
Props for going to vocals route!
Too many reviews call their tracks 'songs' when there is no singing......
Not that I care about vocals either way, just my inner pedant struggles with the 'song' denomination for things that are most definitely not songs.
Just one comment for all of your videos (I discovered you thanks to #TGU18 ) → THANKS FOR ALL THE INFOS YOU PROVIDE! :)
"which makes the amp go GRR" lmfao!
Damn, Colin. DAMN. Love it.
If only all your videos where done in this style 😂😂😂
I dunno man, I think you might be a mammoth.
So I play a mix of classic rock, blues and modern metal? Which would be a better choice rocker terror or Brent hinds terror?
this guy will be doing everything by 2020
HoshiHearts RetroGaming i keep seeing your comments everywhere . I've seen them on two or three other videos, I can't remember the channels though.
How would you say this amp compares with the Tiny Terror and the Rocker 15? cheers!
Boy make a vid on how to do those growls, they sound insane! That would be amazing
Whats the riff when you're demonstrating the HM2? Is it a Mastodon song or sommet else cause i recognolise it i think
Good stuff
Thats some top notch riffage.
ALLL THE GAIN!!!!!!!METAL ZONE!!!!
Can Orange get a more biting tone? Everytime I hear an Orange its either really clean or mushy/fuzzy
Love the song. You are not a Mammoth indeed.
Are you using any tube screamers or boost pedals or is that all the amp or any post EQ ?
AWESOME
Oh, I wondered why this appeared on Spotify the other day. You're welcome for 0.00000000000001p for that listen :) I was laughing then, but it's even better with the video!
Nice music, very new Parkway drive esque
Holy fuck...I didn't know he sings good.....killer track
Was expecting heavy sludgy hairy AF Mastodon-y riffage. Was not disappointed.
What is the riff at 6:56 please answer I'm playing this riff for couple of days but I don't know:(
Burak DEVELİ I think it's Blood and Thunder by Mastodon.
The lowest string on March of the fire ants looked loose af. Is that one dropped to A?
