The sims 1 is like "125 new items and over 40 interactions in this expansion" and the sims 4 is like "Look! here's a single fridge in this stuff pack!"

Kingco the one I definitely think in the beginning their was some disappointment, with the lack of pools and toddlers, open world, but some 4 has got some really nice qualities to that the sims 3 doesn’t have. Like how the aliens work and the download system
Not to mention that that the Sims 1 and Sims 2 are only spaced out by four years from release whereas the others were five years. And yet EA is still overdue on Sims 5.

Sims 2 was ahead of its age. I mean look at its graphics for those days
and not just that, all the personality that the sims offer, all the little details that the sims 3 or 4 dont even offer. its crazy.

Sims 3 Generations trailer never fails to make me cry
As a designer and an artist, TS3 is my favorite. The endless customization options is just irreplaceable for me. The open world, the realistic textures, the CASt tool are just amazing. I can still remember when I was still in college, it helped me conceptualize architectural projects hahaha.
I feel the same why about sims 3 but what would make it all the more better for me is sims 2 animations (I just feel that the way the sims looked in sims 2 is the exact way they are suppose to be) and if the ghosts went back to the way they were in sims 2 where if they died then they were just gone.
In my opinion, Ts1 wasn't a great game, but it was decent set the bases, TS2 was amazing and the most realistic of the four, plus it introduced most of the features that still remain iconic today, and TS3 was the best overall (exept maybe in the graphics but it makes up for it), mostly because of the customization and open world. And then sims 4 came AND F*CKED UP *EVERYTHING*
I hope EA will bring World View back to the Sims. I still play TS3 because it's absolutely amazing. I love that I can give my sims weird eye/hair colors. In TS4 there's some but it's limited. I want those color wheels back too.

I didn’t realize how much life and emotion is put into The sims 2. The interaction feels rich and genuine..
The sims 4 is supposedly “realistic” but in fact fall too shallow compared to previous games. I wish the team could just go back to however they made games before..

Yeah, old school Maxis is out of business after the failed attempts of Spore and SimCity 2013, including Will Wright leaving the company. So now the only thing left is The Sims Studio, which is just Maxis remains.

The only time I ever leave my house in the sims is when I get the moodlet StirCrazy. I tend to use cheats to delete it. I make my money as a bookwriter and never leave the house unless I'm going on a world adventure to france, china or egypt.

The sims 5 needs to have sims 4 graphics, sims 3 open world, sims 2 cinematics and all of the expansions/stuff packs/game packs from EVERY GAME piled into about 10 expansions, 5 game packs and 7 stuff packs. Would be so perfect..

@@ChocolateCosmos I think Sims works a lot better with a less realistic and more cartoony aesthetic.
It's easier to accept the wackier sides of the Sims like walking talking scarecrows, aliens, wizards, and mermaids with cartoony graphics.

Sims 3 was the best. Wide open worlds with no loading screens when going from venue to venue, and you can actually see your Sims travel to their destination, and explore the world, and stop along the way to pick up cool seeds and stones, and see events going on at various lots which you didn't even know were happening. Boating, cruising on a motorcycle, swimming across a bay, hiking to the top of a mountain to look down at the city during sunset. That game had more open ended play than Skyrim and Grand Theft Auto combined. I don't even have any inclination to try Sims 4. It might be a great game, but I don't see how it can be as good as 3 was.

Viscount Stratton, I think this is the best comment here. There are several. Sims 3 may always be the best. I have tried Sims 4 and have gotten some of the good expansion packs, but even Seasons has not helped. Lazy Gamer was 100% correct, I still do not fell connected to this game (Sims 4) at all. Long live the Sims 3.

The Sims 2 and Sims 3 music was great, each expansion had their own soundtracks and they would play depending on the loading screen. They were all so memorable.
The Sims 3 ones almost made me cry omg, the memories of watching these trailers as a kid ;-;
I've played Sims 1, 2, 3, and 4. I love ALL of them, but my favorite sims game right now is maybe sims 3. IMO Sims 4 has better graphics by far, and character customization (except for coloring clothes yourself), but I like the open world in 3.
I don't really mind not having open world because i still never left my home lot in the sims 3, because the lots only had 2-3 sims on them. In the sims 4 since each lot is loaded separately, so the lots are always loaded with people, and it seems more realistic that way. I think they should've at least made each neighbourhood open though, Like the business and shopping districts in each world, that way you can go venue hopping without loading screens, for example. but to travel between different neighbourhoods would require a loading screen, but after that, you wouldn't need one.
I loved that open world it was amazingggg , in sims 4 I just get bored. Sims 3 was better

I was always so disappointed how the trailers make everything look extremely fun and adventurous. But really, you spend most of the time feeding your sims and keeping their needs up. It's still an extremely fun game.

Only in the first 2. In the Sims 3 and The Sims 4 their needs don't deplete nearly as fast. But yea, that part makes TS2 very annoying
Once you start playing with boolprop you don't have to keep up with their needs period. Starving to death? Drag their needs up. About to pass out? Drag their energy up. Can't make it to the toilet? Now they don't have to. Instead I use the time to take my sims on dates, on waterballoon fights and fishing family reunions, letting them jam out as a band in the park downtown, having friends over for snowball fights and building garden master powerhouses. I have no desire to upgrade to Sims 3 or Sims 4 LOL.
yeah the boolprop cheat is the only way I play - makes it way more fun and less frustrating

Does anyone notice how fast the sims 3 got BIG expansion packs?! In 2013 alone we got University, Island Paradise, and Into the future! It's been nearly 2 years since the Sims 4 came out and I just feel the progression has been a lot slower!
We have new gameplay packs but I agree the expansion packs are coming in a little slow
2013 was the last year of TS3 though.. they were wrapping everything up and releasing it so they could dedicate all their efforts to TS4 the following year.
The rest of the time, TS3 got a new expansion every 6 months roughly, which is faster than ts4 but not that much so.
bc they're releasing smaller game packs and stuff packs instead. it's basically their method of keeping us satisfied while using less resources
And look at how fast the bugs, glitches and routing issues happened. They were so preoccupied with churning out third rate shit and stocking up the sims 3 store, every pack added more problems that on top of existing problems, they never bothered fixing.
It was up to nraas to fix the stuttering, pathing and car buildup issues. lol

I love the sims 2 trailers just because i feel they were so perfectly made. That and because I own the ultimate collection and I still play it.
The Sims 1 has the best soundtrack hands down.. Before Maxis went and the game franchise became a way for EA to make money by adding in simlish versions of pop songs... I love the work that went into The Sims 1 instrumentals! The Sims 2 had the best expansion packs might I add!

Sims 2 was the best for me that was my childhood I used to use the cheat motherlode to get alot of cash and another cheat to unlock all outfits it was awesome I miss being a kid :(

Nah. I have a brand new alienware pc and I still can't play island paradise without the game crashing 2 minutes in. Sims 3 is just an enormous game which is why EA say you should select only a handful of EP's to be active each time you play.
To be honest I can't choose which one I like the best... All of them has their pros-and-cons.
But I must say that the Sims 3' trailers win the "trailer contest". xD

+AlexDragonMagic But I feel like other than the free world and toddlers of sims 3 the first sims game play and stuff was so much better. When I say that I mean it felt like there was SO MUCH more to do. Especially in comparison to sims 2(I own almost all the expansion packs) The sims 1 just seemed to have more even though the graphics were such shit.

I played the sims 3 with 5 expansions and I played the sims 4 with all 4 expansions and 6 stuff packs.

I play the sims 3 currently with 6 expansion packs and 1 stuff pack. No matter what anyone says to me it's a great game.

They're both good, but I think EA should have made a counterpart to "Open to Business" in 3 instead of a stupid store item for restaurants.
The sims 4 feels so shallow and empty to me, I just went back to the sims 2. 3 is my favourite, but with more than one expansion pack I just can't get it to run playably. I'm always amazed by the sheer amount of content the sims 2 has. It HONESTLY feels like a life simulation. There's very little you can do in life that you can't do in the game.

Sims 2 is obviously the more superior of the four sims games, Sims 3 is a close second(However your game is nothing without any of the expansion packs), of course the original Sims game is pretty iconic, and the Sims 4......it needs to be out longer in order to place it anywhere
Did anyone play Sims 2 Castaway? I think it might have been just on consoles (I had it on PS2). I don't think it was in here, but it's still sitting on my shelf :) I spent many an hour having my sims survive on a desert island, befriending monkeys & making bamboo shelters

Haha I remember playing that when I was young! My parents bought it as a gift but they bought the wrong one. Though it turned out to be great!! I usually don't like playing on PS2 but I was willing to play it just for that game!

Island Paradise was awesome. Full of bugs, but I always came back for the holiday feeling.
Idk why but... I feel like The Sims 3 still is the best The Sims game, especially with the "Pets" expansion. I just kinda miss riding 'round in an open world. I made the mistake to sell my game and the 4 expansions that I had...

My favorite thing with the first three trailers is they specifically address a limitation from the previous game and highlight the improvement they made on it.
Sims 2: we are no longer limited by that isometric feel. It’s true 3D and you can move the camera anywhere you want
Sims 3: having a nice 3D environment is nice, but imagine you could see literally everything at once. A true open world, no more load screens between lots
Omg, anyone else miss the old gangs?? Newbies Families, Bachelor, Caliente, Lothario, Pleasant, and that Rome and Julliet spin-off on Veronaville, ooh and that lady with many cats on Sims 1 Unleashed town. Omg i miss all of them. I personally think Sims 2 has the best Town Story ever in all of the sims expansion pack. They have strong background story. Watching this makes me very nostalgic :')

One thing that will never change: Bad dancing. Sims couldn't dance then, can't dance now lol.
Also, after watching this, I still want The Sims 3. The Sims 4 is so limited in everything it offers. If I could get The Sims 3 on my PC i'd probably play it more than I play The Sims 4.
I haven't switched over to 4 yet I still play 3 but 4 looks like it has better graphics.

+TerraMarie Well since I have a Mac the only game I can play on the CD is the Sims three. The Sims four I can download I think but I haven't yet. But I'll have to uninstall the Sims three to make room so you can have my games if you want.
You need to install a 2 TB hard drive. You will have room for everything. I have had mine for 4+ years and it is barely half full.
In the sims 2 video they really were into taking there tops off…

Hello everyone! I would just like to thank the uploader for putting this wonderful video on you tube. This really help me see the full evolution of Sims (since i wasn't there from the beginning). Yes I've played the Sims 4 and I can't wait for their expansion, and yes there were tons of cool stuff i saw with the Sims 1 2 and 3 but that took time to make it as awesome as it was. didn't you notice that the Sims repeat itself? that everything (or most of it) gets eventually added in the next Sims? I've been seeing a lot of hate or argument over the Sims 4 , but please understand we are not that far yet, and not everything was added in a day. pets will come again, seasons will come again, supernatural will come again, etc just give it time. As you can see the Sims 4 "get to work" is out today! and it is a repeat just like the previous Sims. Now im not saying Repeat like there is no change, but yet im saying as all the things you had before in the Sims will come again. Another example is the Sims 4 Outdoor retreat, it's not the same but it's a vacation add on just like in the old Sims. Please people feel free to disagree with my OwO. but as much as we HATE IT we have to wait soon the Sims 4 will be as talked about just like the old Sims still are. It's my all time favorite expansion pack. If you play The Sims 3: World Adventures, they use the Strangetown music from Makin' Magic as the music for Champs Les Sims.
Yes! I think of it so much. One of these i will buy a PC to play TS1 + TS2 and all the expansions i have. MY tS3 & Ts4 are for macs. I will have two gaming CPUs and my friends and family are totally going to judge me for that 😭😭😭

idk why but i dont really enjoy sims 4. I used to love sims 2. Maybe ive just gotten older but I find myself rarely playing it and when I do play it I just spend time making the sims and their homes and then I get bored and tired and dont even want to play anymore.
Sims 4 needs a lot more outifts and hairstyles. Its all very boring

DePorschia Green Yeah, I totally hate how they turned it into a kids game. The game is also very dry.. Like I know it's a simulation game but all you do in TS4 is do this do that click click.. Boring. In the sims 3 and two it was an adventure and it was something new.

One of the only things I don't like about The Sims is that the trailers show public places (like a park or club for example) full with over 20 Sims in one place. I remember watching the Late Night trailer and getting really excited, but when I got the game I was the only one in the club. Its disappointing.
There usually isn't any Sims at community lots until I send my sim there. Once they arrive however, sims seem to flock to the area. It all just depends.
That's why most people import sims over into their town if their computer can handle it. They'll be townies without jobs so they have more free time to go to clubs and resorts. Bridgeport was a laggy mess for me so I never really stayed in it much. Plus I like big families and the apartments were very small. It was filled with snooty celebrities anyway :P

Everyone should stop hating on TS4. It's brand new and there are no expansion packs yet. I hated the base game for every TS game but as they continued to add expansion packs I loved it. So everyone just be patient and give it some time.

Sims 2 or Sims 3 are still cartoonish want it or not, when we start downloading mods and that kind of things, they will look as realistic as the other games, but well still sort of confused about the fact of not being toddlers in the game :/ but idk, maybe im the only one who's excited about the sims 4 :c Haha.

Who cares and in real life as a dissabled person that’s 26 and I’m not alowed to drive or be married or have kids by my moms because I’m dissabled that’s born with a condition called microcephaly and I can’t drive in real life but I really don’t don’t cares we get cars or don’t have it .thank god I’m not a spoilt brat that’s selfish and ungrateful. I’m fine with out cars but we do need more stuff for retail in the sims 4 that we don’t have in the sims 1,2,and 3 . We don’t have dentist , we can’t really own hospitals . We don’t have malls and we don’t have foot docters or hanger clinic. We don’t have jewelry or make up and shoe making to to sell or buy to wear and we don’t have pet grooming or record or animate your own animations or movies or design your own clothes like real life and put your own real picture for anything in the game to make your own clothes or paintings or more or scan your face so the sims can really look like you and color .they don’t have that and they should and somthing different like I said about designing and stuff so we do not have to use stupid cc of mods . It also destroys your game abs computer and I never use cc or mods . My computer does not have any bugs or my game because I don’t use mods or cc and I don’t buy and use sims 4 cd 💿 whatever I said what we need that we don’t have sold one need to be a cc and mod to make this and send it to ea team for a free update for all of that in one so we can have somthing newer and freash and different and so dumb fools that’s gready selfish brat ungrateful people can shut up about complaining over nonsense about the sims 4 . Sims 4 dud origin so we don’t need to get the cd 💿 and with out the cd they can fix bugs when you don’t have the cd .I really don’t care about cars unless I want to live like the old days like the 1700s up to 80s . I'm giving a chance to Sims 4 since it's been 5 years now and there're a lot more CC and expansion packs.
For now I think it's actually really nice !

really my sims in ts4 bearly do what i tell them whilte my sims in ts3 alwys do what i want them to do and since i have my new gaming pc ts3 runs smoothly and nice even when it snows or rains wich was what caused my old pc back in 2009 to crush
tbh idk why ea removed the scenes (like when your sim gives birth or when your sim is proposing) I really liked those x3 (It was on sims 2 btw)
