Good video brother. Re Set to Frame size- I’d recommend changing it in Preference instead of manually changing it one by one. Edit > Preferences > Media > Default Media Settings > Set to Frame size
@@ChrisOlson2 For me I think I just found out why. If you're editing say for Instagram feed or Story size and you have 4k footage, it'll bring the footage in and set it to to the width of the sequence. However the footage once it's rotated is then smaller than the frame, and then needs to be readjusted back to the frame size, that's what just happened for my project

Hello Chris, I have one doubt. I have 4K video can i set sequence in 1080 to edit and preview after that is possible to render in 4k, If can it still preserve the 4K quality.
Hello brother Chris .if the sequence settings already. When you edit another .do we need to settings sequence again. I am new to edit premiere. So pls help thank you. God bless you all.
I'm editing on windows on 2.7k timeline (2704x1520), should/can I still use the Preview File format 'Quicktime' with 'Apple ProRes 422 HQ'? Or are there better fits? Great video btw! Very helpful
Thank you for your video, Chris. I have some digital files converted from Super8mm color films (1975) with frame width 720 and height 576 data rate 28810kbps, total bitrate 30346kbps, frame rate 25.00 fps (PAL DV format?). No Audio. How do I set the sequence in Premiere Pro CS6 to edit, add audio and export to view on TV screens and RUclips?
I have source Red footage shot in 2480x1152. I've been editing in Premier with that resolution in the timeline. Should it be changed to 2480x1080? I've been looking for this answer all over the place, and cannot find a definitive answer. I hope you know! Great video, BTW.
Your video is most helpful. Thank you. But I do have an issue that I cannot seem to resolve. There is no button for saving my Sequence Setting preset. Why would that be?
I just found your channel and it's amazing! I'm a total newbie here, but your videos are so easy and concise! One question, if I just need to add intro/outro to a bunch of videos, what is the best way to go about it? I have already created my own mogrt, but how would you easily replace footage (just one clip, small edit at in/out)? Could you please create a video where you show your workflow for repetitive work like that?
Hello so basically the frame rate and resolution of premier pro sequence should match the resolution and frame rate of your video? I shot with 1080 30FPs so my sequence should be 29. Sth? Right? Thanks
What do you advise doing if I shot all my footage in 4k, however, I'm using Neat Video Home Edition which only supports up to 1080p not 4k? Should I change the frame size to 1080p so I can still use Neat Video for some of my clips?

hey have you figured out how to export rec 709 10bit footage mixed with rec 2020 12 bit footage? depending if i choose rec 2020 high vs rec 709 one or the other will get 50% washed out?
Thanks very helpful! The preview settings are something I never payed much attention to as working in 1080P most of the time...but as I use more and more 4 K footage this will be useful.
Hi Chris, this is great info! And I have some questions. If my b-roll is 4k 60fps, but the a-roll is 1080 24fps, how does that affect the sequence settings? Do you set the sequence settings for the highest quality clip, in this case the 4k b-roll? Does it negatively affect the 24fps a-roll if the sequence settings are 60fps? My video from last week -- which looked soooooo good in-camera -- absolutely sucked because I had the wrong settings (I'm re-doing it now and will probably re-upload it). Thank you so much for this great info!
HELLO CHRIS What is the best way to Capture Video from my Sony PWE-EX1R XCAM? Camera IDEE Firwire output to PC via IDEE Firewire? USB out of Camera to USB into PC? I tried using a micro SD into an SD adapter into an SXS adapter! It recorded fine but when I plug the SD Card in into the computer it seems that Sony put each shot and it's own folder so if I had 100 shots I would have to click on 100 folders to load my video into Premiere the video looks great but I need to learn how Batch Capture all in one take! Any advice would be greatly appreciated?
Great video! I'm not sure where to create the file folders you saved your preset to. I would love to see a video from you on how to set up the PP2021 workspace for beginners. Everyone's workspace looks different from mine.
Nice explainer. Would have been useful to specify what the choice of preview format does in terms of disk space usage. Also, and VERY IMPORTANT: If you leave the checkbox "Composite in Linear Color..." checked, it will screw up colors and perticularly transparency of AE compositions and MOGRTs that you might use. This should affect only the preview, but if you were wondering why something designed properly in AE suddenly looks crap in PP, that's the reason. AFAIK this is known by Adobe, a conscious choice and another chapter in the multiple volume book "Customers? Why should we care? Bells and Whistles for the shareholders!"
HELLO CHRIS! Seems that you are the only RUclipsr that actually Replies to your Subscribers so let me post a Question to you! 'Prior to installing Adobe Premiere 2022 back in August, I was previously using Adobe Premiere Pro1.5 on my newly built PC! Now I have an internal 256gb SSD Card along with swapping out my old 200gb HHD's with 1tb SSD's! I am constantly running desperately low in space in my C Drive (Win 10 OS & Programs x86 only on a separate partition, no Video files!) and wanted to know besides all of the Clearing media Cache Procedures should I uninstall the older Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 from 20 years ago?
Hi, do you know how you can set a sequence framerate other than the ones in the dropdown? For example gopro 4/3 footage has a frame rate of 47.95 and I can't select that. I don't want to edit in 47.95, but would like to set nested sequences to 47.95 so they match the 47.95 footage and I'm able to use warp stabilization on them. Thanks!
hello chris, i just bought a new computer and I'm facing a really weird problem when I play back a clip in a sequence, it's not lagging, it is more like each frame has been corrupted, but it's as annoying as when a clip is lagging, I've done every solution related for fixing playback lag but has no effect on my problem. can you help me brother ?
I"m working with some OLD footage from a camera that used small tapes,I"m capturing the video from a little bit more of a modern camera that the tapes fit in ( A camera from early 2,000s). I don't know what the FPS was of the camera that shot the video and I ESPECIALLY don't know the pixels on the tapes. Aalso I"m capturing old VHS tapes. So Idon't know the FPS on those either. lol What do you suggest for settings and sequencing? The video project also will include modern footage and photos where I do know the pixels. I don't know how to work with multiple types content especially when I don't know all the information about some of the footage. HELP! lol
Great video and explanation! However it doesn't work with my 10 years ago footage. I don't know how to marry it with premier effects and animations. Pain😤😓

I have some transition templates which include transition layers, I think they are 1080p and my sequence and footage is 4K. When I input these transitions they appear as a small display on the preview. I tried what to set to fit to frame all the adjustment layers but is messes up the second adjustment layer making up the transition template. IT creates a mirror type effect. Any idea how to fix this?
Thank you for this. Extremely helpful. Question, if I used a 1080p project setting with all 4K UHD /RAW files, is it possible to save the edited sequence and import it to this 4k sequence since all files and edits (maybe except the titles and transitions) are in 4K? I hope I’m clear. When I render the content it looks bad. Real bad in 4K. Thanks!
So if I have clips in anamorphic and standard 16:9 would I nest any clips shot in anamorphic and switch the sequence setting so that the footage is deesqueezed and won't look weird when put in the same timeline as the regular clips?
I do music so when i export something like a lyric video, the audio quality gets lowered ,i want it to be the same quality as the wav track file, any suggestions?
@@ChrisOlson2 yeah i checked everything , if you comprehend a little bit in music, basically the 808's got compressed and the whole volume just got a little bit muddy

Good video brother. Re Set to Frame size- I’d recommend changing it in Preference instead of manually changing it one by one. Edit > Preferences > Media > Default Media Settings > Set to Frame size
This is a good option. I used to use this, but for some reason I can't remember, I didn't like it.
