Everyone has an "excuse" as to why they don't train "enough"... this is absolutely my excuse (beside the obvious shortage of rounds)... The last time I was on a public/community rage I honestly (no shit) had a the range officer get into an argument with me because I was giving the shooter next to me my brass.... it started with officer telling the gentleman that it was inappropriate to pick up other peoples brass.... I clarified and confirmed that the shooter asked first and I volunteered my brass since I don't reload .40S&W. So the officer then turned his ego to me informing me that if I didn't want the brass, it was customary (WTF ever that means) that the brass go to the Range .. I said I pay for it, I'll decide to whom it goes to ... and have never returned to pay/public range as that was not an isolated encounter...

Even a year after this video came out I still watch it from time to time. Just love the back and forth between the two
I absolutely enjoyed this from the beginning to the end. I’m doing a steel plate course this Sunday and for the first time I’m training my mind along with dry firing. Im definitely a rookie on the chart every time I go to the course. And knowing that I am a rookie compared to everyone else there I tend to beat my self and over think and create unnecessary scenarios which causes me to be super nervous with sweaty hands lol. Once I make a mistake on the course either from missing a target or a gun malfunction my mistakes piles on. This time I will go with a stronger mind and more reputations with dry firing. Im more excited for this Sunday rather than nervous! You gained a new subscriber!

The coolfire trainer is pretty sweet. It replaces just the barrel of your pistol and is co2 powered. This gives you the ability to practice your own gun’s trigger pull while still experiencing recoil while shooting in your own house.

You guys are AWESOME !!!! Thanks, can't wait to try this cadence mind control / finger control. ( In dirt bike riding I use to do that, ride a section in my head 100 times, then ride that section for real just like it , it did help me make up time - speed little subtle things you don't realize to make up time on the track - the desert where the tracks are miles long stents = a tuff section that can make you or brake you. For me shooting is only a hobby to master .

Consider a situation that makes you angry automatically, like getting stuck behind a left lane camper. Every time it happens, all the stimulus associated with that situation results in a direct activation of your amygdala. Every time it happens, that path becomes easier to activate as the associated neurons grow more dendrites and axonal terminals. The more often you get angry about it, the easier it is to be angry about it.
To undo that path to your limbic system, you have to build paths in your cerebrum: rational instead of emotional. However, being IN the situation makes it difficult to THINK about it. Fortunately, the brain is designed to virtualize reality (process what is happening) AND simulate reality (imagine). Imagining being in a situation is not as strong a stimulus as actually being in the situation itself. So THINK about being stuck behind somebody camping in the left lane when you aren’t driving.
It’s like being in the situation is the Olympic competition, and thinking about the situation is training in the gym for that competition. Trying to deal with your anger IN THE MOMENT is like constantly going to competitions.
As you IMAGINE (train) being in a situation, you are now in a less emotional state that allows you to explore it. To explore…just ask questions. Ask every question you can think of. Answer those questions and come up with more questions. Questions and answers exist in the cerebrum, away from the limbic system. So as you keep asking and answering questions about a situation you are imagining, you are literally building new neuronal pathways in your CEREBRUM. Just like constantly getting angry about something, the more you imagine (train) the more those cerebral neurons grow.
Finally, once those cerebral pathways are trained up, the next time you find yourself in that situation, you mind doesn’t automatically go straight down the only path it knows. It now has many more paths besides the amygdala to go down giving you a conscious choice to be emotional or rational. The more you choose to be rational, the more the path to the amygdala withers as those neurons activate less and receive fewer resources. Eventually, those neurons will have to find purpose elsewhere as you “forget” how to get angry about being stuck behind left lane campers.
Personally, I began imagining that the people camping in the left lane where my parents or friends, and by making THAT connection in my cerebrum, I was able to put my mind in a place where I would think, “I wouldn’t flip my parents off. I wouldn’t cut them off. I wouldn’t tailgate my parents. I wouldn’t get in front of them and brake check them.”
Even though they weren’t my parents, the amazing thing about the brain is that I was able to imagine the situation as if they were.
Muscles or neurons, it doesn’t matter. Your body AND mind are designed to adapt and overcome…if you let them.

@@tylrpearson3165 Just remember to start with your annoyances first. Those are your five pound dumbbells. Once they no longer annoy you, move up to more annoying issues. To get a good idea of what you are doing, list EVERYTHING that annoys you, offends you, irritates you, angers you, frustrates you, and enrages your. Put each one on an index card. Then sort them out by considering two of them and deciding which you’d rather deal with over the other. Once you have them all organized from least annoying to most rage inducing, you have your training all planned out.
By dealing with the smallest struggles first, you have a higher chance of success which leads to a positive feedback loop encouraging you to take on bigger struggles.

Besides that, Socrates, Plato, and various Stoic philosophers are a good place to start for broad ideas. Dr. Jordan Peterson and Dr. Daniel Levitin’s books are good intros and transition into neuroscience. The first book on psychology/neuroscience that I read for myself was Dr. Julian Jaynes’ “The Origins of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind”, but his work is contentious. There’s enough case study in it that you can filter out his personal conclusions and develop your own instead. “Brian’s Legacy” was the most recent book that got me into neuroscience originally. Dr. Stanislas Dehaene’s “Consciousness and the Brain” is the driest, but it has the most meat.

Strut blew out and took the tire with it. Got out to inspect the damage and realized I had locked myself out of my running car. At 3 AM, in Minnesota, in November. At least I was able to sit on the hood to keep warm while I waited for a tow.

I got myself a decent gas blowback pistol because a box of ammo was the same price as it.
You get a LOT of practice in using gas blowback pistols for not a lot of $$$. A lot of it is the reps you're talking about. Feeling the trigger reset. Getting back on the wall of the trigger. Feeling where the gun goes 'click'.
Also, you can get reload reps, holster reps, and not necessarily recoil control practice, but good practice realigning your sights on target after a shot.
I would 100% recommend anyone get a GBB airsoft pistol to run the basics with if you don't have money to throw at ammo for your traditional firearm.
