I found a great flare high waist DKNY black pants from surfing the. Lack pants links off Erin’s videos to Bloomingdale’s. And I got them on friends and family discount running now, PLUS another 15% off because I added my cell to receive texts updates. I paid $55 for them!!! I’m typically a size 8.. for the flare leg since smaller in hips, and I fluctuate weight in my butt and hips since a metabolic insulin disorder deposits fat to the pooch belly to the thighs as the body’s fav place to store fat with tbis disorder (I’m not yet in menopause, but essentially dealing with body chnages similar to it that my body did not do before I developed this Insulin Resistance disorder! So for ladies wondering about the pooch or thighs, I couldn’t believe how my jiggling and cellulite tummy and thighs were FANTASTIC in a flare pant! I even found a pair of state black pants in a straight wider leg style again with discounts for $55.. WITH PLEATS!!! And they work awesome too!! Incredible!! I went for the chance on that pleated pair in case the skimmer flare would show my thighs, and another reviewer had specifically said her tummy WAS HIDDEN… well gals, she was right! And again, I am still overweight with a mighty pooch tummy I hate… both style pants, SLIMMING!!) i sized up to a 10 in thr flare leg just in case for the fit and if I lose weight they would be loose, but if I gain back any weight which if I consume carbs on 1 day, can gain as much as 5-10 lbs overnight, the pants would definitely not look spectacular as they currently do. The DKNY flare pants I have to take to tailor to shorten despite I’m just over 5’5 and with a 3.5” heel on.. the size 8 true to size 1.state pants are fine length with a heel at 5’5, 155 lbs, usual size 8-I carry my weight all over my body at 45.. large bust, tummy, muffin top with bad jeans (I’ve fallen in love with whetherly!), butt, thighs lol … hey I’m still 29 at heart though!) … I ordered the white lace top in a large because my bust ranges during the month from 32GG-34HH based on my cycling… and again got it on insane awesome discounts. Bloomies did come back and say it was on back order, but I still can’t wait to wear every top and sweater and jacket in my wardrobe with my 2 new very nice pairs of classic black pants! I tried to shop discount stores, honestly the quality wasn’t there in the pants. But sale plus sale plus sale bloomies $55 pants that hit the mark 💯!!! Had to share my bloomies friends and family sales finds that I found based off Erin’s exact items and based on her links that showed other options.

Love these tips Thanks! I bought two pairs of the same black slacks in two sizes from Black Market/White house. One fits looser, and the other more fitted, a very classic style and they literally go with every top I have! I hemmed one to wear with flats, the other with heels. Because they're so versatile, I was able to pack light, and still look very put together and elegant, and appropriately conservative (one trip was to Dubai). I also wore them in New York with chunky black boots, perfect for walking around in the city, and colder weather, while looking chic and elegant. I'm usually a jeans girl(California), but it feels so nice and elegant to dress it up a bit. Not a fan of cut outs, but they look great on you and others I've seen. You look amazingly beautiful and chic in all of these outfits - Thanks again!
I'm curious what others who might have similar shape think of this: I love my long, wide-leg trousers. But at 5'9" with long legs, trim but more 'pear' shape (widest at hips), i find the fit-and-flare doesn't balance so much as accentuate hips. Which might be a look I want in some contexts, but overall prefer just the wide leg. Am I making that up, in terms of how the proportions appear to me?
I’ve kinda got this shape too! (Except 5’7” but high-waisted). I agree with you this is how I often feel like I look in fit-&-flare. However, sometimes if I close my eyes and then re-open them to look at my overall look, I think it does still accentuate my long legs, if I’m not MAKING my eyes look for the widest area. So depends how confident I’m feeling/what top I have to determine when I’ll pull it off. 😅 usually I just stick to my skinny jeans/leggings…
Pandemic weight gain + new job w/diff wardrobe requirements led me to getting rid of almost all my pants (including my staple black slacks). I still bought 2 pairs (cigarette and paper bag) in my new size. Can’t wear them to work, but I wear them all the time casually. Such a versatile item!
Apart from being an essential, if you buy a soft pair then they can be a great substitute to jeans. Buy varying styles which we will give you more choice, then pair and wear.
In a previous job I had, black pants were uniform but I had free range with tops and closed toe shoes. It made getting dressed for work super easy and the outfits always looked spot on. When I later switched jobs, my work outfits became gym wear and hoodies and I got out of the habit of dressing up and my whole wardrobe became much more casual. Soon enough I'll kick the leggings habit but currently it feels a little awkward for the time being.

Those fit-and-flare black pants are amazing! I am a monochromatic fan. I ride a motorcycle and I buy quality classic leather tailored jackets and lug sole boots, so I’ll enjoy wearing those items in my non-riding time this season. I love these classic pieces. Ive maintained a significant weight loss and need to get my better pieces altered or just start again from scratch. Fun times ahead.

Dear Erin, Please stop calling yourself petite. 5’4” is not petite. 5’3 (a little less) is average height for women. 5’4” is a very good height for ladies. Percentage of ladies taller than 5’4” is very less. You have a great body and height. Enjoy.

The matching pants is a stunning, elevated combination! Definitely not too much leather. Full head to toe leather is definitely right on trend at the moment, and that particular outfit is a great one. You could also do a black top and black pants with it as well... I would simply wear socks in the same color as your trousers... so a nice black pair to wear with your black pants, black also with the gray, and a navy to go with your navy blue so that they really aren't noticeable. Can you also wear slippers at your desk? If so that is what I would personally do! xo

You are so slender. I’m post menopausal with a belly and don’t feel comfortable tucking in shirts. They’d look better tucked in (sans belly) especially since I’m 5 feet tall. It’s frustrating.

Love this video. Black trousers/pants are so versatile and that pair looks really great on you. That leather jacket also is absolutely gorgeous. Looks I'm not so sure about - the oversized cardigan looks cozy but not smart; I'm not sure about the crop jacket - the boxy shape seems to make it hang awkwardly in mid air and the tuck on the green sweater is a bit high. Love the colour though. Just my opinion. Trying to do a 6 month no buy and actually wear what I already have and I definitely have black trousers!

After watching Erin for many years, I believe she doesn’t model every similar ‘for less’ piece due to time. She & her team aim for a short, concise video, and most are around 10-15 minutes. If she tried on every black pant, it would be longer, and to me, a bit repetitive. How much can be said about black slacks?

This video was choc-full of good info & tips. I have a LARGE selection of black pants and (yooo-hooo Erin) I'd like to see a video showing that if you acquire half a dozen black pants with different vibes/styles, you will ALWAYS have something to wear.
1) Wide-leg (palazzo) black pants for any dressy event
2) High-quality black jeans (LaFayette, for example) for slightly elevated casual events
3) Silk black straight-leg pants for dressy-casual (wedding guest, or dinner/theater)
4) The flared pant (highlighted in video)
5) Unique accent black pants to add interest (buttons, or stepped, or front slits, or cropped)

Those fit-and-flare black pants are amazing! I am a monochromatic fan. I ride a motorcycle and I buy quality classic leather tailored jackets and lug sole boots, so I’ll enjoy wearing those items in my non-riding time this season. I love these classic pieces. Ive maintained a significant weight loss and need to get my better pieces altered or just start again from scratch. Fun times ahead.

It depends on your shoes, but I was also wondering before i hem mine and i think just above the ankle bone is perfect.

I have, like, 100 pairs of black pants in all kinds of styles. Okay, maybe not really 100, but close! 🤣 When I'm running late for work or just too lazy to try to decide what to wear to work, I just grab a pair of black pants and any cute blouse, and the combo ALWAYS works. So easy/effortless to dress up black pants.

Please stop calling yourself petite. 5’4” is not petite. 5’3 (a little less) is average height for women. 5’4” is a very good height for ladies. Percentage of ladies taller than 5’4” is very less.

The matching pants is a stunning, elevated combination! Definitely not too much leather. Full head to toe leather is definitely right on trend at the moment, and that particular outfit is a great one. You could also do a black top and black pants with it as well... Black and brown are lovely together! One last idea to try is a midi skirt and neutral top. I would simply wear socks in the same color as your trousers... so a nice black pair to wear with your black pants, black also with the gray, and a navy to go with your navy blue so that they really aren't noticeable. Can you also wear slippers at your desk? If so that is what I would personally do! xo

You are so slender. I’m post menopausal with a belly and don’t feel comfortable tucking in shirts. They’d look better tucked in (sans belly) especially since I’m 5 feet tall. It’s frustrating.

Love this video. Black trousers/pants are so versatile and that pair looks really great on you. That leather jacket also is absolutely gorgeous.
Looks I'm not so sure about - the oversized cardigan looks cozy but not smart; I'm not sure about the crop jacket - the boxy shape seems to make it hang awkwardly in mid air and the tuck on the green sweater is a bit high. Love the colour though. Just my opinion.
