Thank you Linda for shedding light on this topic. I date a women who has encountered childhood sexual assault from a Mothers BF. This is helping me to understand why she behaves the way she does!

I like your videos and i relate to much of this but I really, truly did not like the part around 9:30. I have been trying to work through my own internalized shame over having sexually touched a boy my age in my neighborhood when I was 4 or 5 years old because I was being repeatedly abused by my father in the middle of the night. I didn’t know what I was doing was wrong. I was confused, barely more than a toddler. My mother was beating me and the closest thing I had to experiencing being loved was my father molesting me. I wasn’t selfish or putting myself first, I was a victim far too young to comprehend what I was doing who hurt someone else without ever meaning to.
If you’re talking about behaviors during adulthood, I obviously completely agree but PLEASE try to understand that very young children who have been repeatedly sexually abused may reenact things with other children because they have no meaningful comprehension that what they’re doing is wrong. A small child who has been repeatedly molested or raped by an adult and reenacts the events is nothing like an adult that has had time to mentally develop the concept of right and wrong who continues to hurt children.
