I added a screenshot in the community tab showing a logical switch configuration to use T6 (or T5) as a full 3 way momentary switch. Here's the link: ruclips.net/channel/UCcJwn8V3MTsib2LjAcTnargcommunity
Love the fact that you can continue to learn more about this software. Thanks again.
There's always an opportunity to learn something with OpenTx.
Excellent work, definitely the best series on open tx / radiomaster etc. Love the series 👍
Thank you. Appreciate that...
Agreed!
All the "trim" switches on the left stick are double throw, meaning you get a contact closure on the initial press, and another contact closure if you continue to press after 1st contact made. Making them 4 way momentary switches
The awesome things you learn on your channel and from likeminded folks out there never cease to amaze me.
Thanks for sharing.
Glad to help. Thank you for the kind words.
believed or not, I ran out of switch in my radio. LOL, and found this video of trim5 and trim 6, so I try it, in my Jumper T16 and works like a champ, now I have my timer reset, and I'm free the toggle SH for my RTH in inav. love it.
Nice work! If you like that, you should check this out: ruclips.net/video/kC2eFn5qomA/видео.html
Bro, You know your stuff, Thanks for sharing!
Lol, yeah, I've had a long career in advanced electronics and software plus I like to tinker. Thanks for the comment.
Illustrated well!
Thanks Doug.
Great video. 😊
Thanks for watching.
THANK YOU!!! Was looking for a way to silence the T5 and T6 trim noises. Finally can use T5Down for resetting my flight timer without the annoying beeping.
Yup! Great little feature in the radio to put those momentary switches to use.
Hi! Very good Information on the radio. This is Robert Wioch. I will give you always a Thumps up. you are the best out there. AAAAAAAAAA++++++++++ :))
Thanks again!
Kind of completing a puzzle..... Then finding a extra piece...... That somehow still fits!!👍🤣 Or maybe checking the nooks and crannies.lol AirHammer out!!
Yeah, pretty good way to put it. I put a post in the community tab showing a full config:

I love Easter Eggs!
It's a cool little find.
My TX16s MKII klicks on T1-T4 by pressing on them. On T5 and T6 it goes up and down only.
I don't understand why so much complications, when for example if you disable trim T5 in flight modes, button could be used as 2x two momentary switches.
It can be used as "Trim 5 Up" or "Trim 5 Down" as any other switch or variable in special functions or logical switches.
Only thing is that you have to push it up or down to activate (and hold in this position, as any other momentary switch), and relese it to deactivate, not just press.
I got Jumper T16, and first thing I do (while watching this video) is reach for my T16 and realise trims can't be pressed down :) :) :)
P.S. subscribed, channel is great with lots of useful trick to learn
This just adds more momentary switches if someone wants them. Because these switches will register up and down simultaneously we can and them together for another momentary switch. I said in the video this is a TX16s trick only, it doesn't work on Jumper.
@@RCVideoReviews Yes, later realised that you already have video for 2x two momentary switches :) . Once again, great channel
Bewdy! Now all we need is for someone to design and print up some Heath Robinson linkages to place 3 momentary levers on each side of the Tx where you can reach them easily when flying! :P
Seriously, another great informational! Gunna need a dedicated index list for your vids shortly though so this old Alzheimer's candidate can find what I need each time I pick up the radio. :-)
Got you covered:

@@RCVideoReviews AMEN, even though I have RUclips Red and the ability to download, having your vids chronologed is great!
This is like reaching into your freshly washed jeans and finding a crisp $20 bill. Good work lasersbeez
Yeah, it's a good find.
RC Video Reviews now on my radio if I hold down one of the trims as described without having any LS setup it will circulate the trim from one end to the other for as long as it’s pressed.
Yeah, if you press it and hold it, it runs to the limit either up or down. Mine doesn't cycle, it just goes to top or bottom with no LS defined. I eventually get to "minimum trim reached" or "trim maximum" then it stops beeping, but 1 1 stay on in the switch monitor. Go into FM0 and turn them off.
RC Video Reviews I’m only using 6u for a timer reset I don’t have the need for anything else at this time but I like learning everything that can be done. turning off t6 in fm is a good trick. I tried to set the LS to 6u 6d but then I wasn’t able to figure out how to assign a playtrack to it which I just have it saying “reset” for the timer.
Did you use the AND function on your logical switch and verify that it lights when you press it? If that happens, then you use the Logical switch for your Special Function.
Air Marshall turned me on to this Chanel cool
Welcome!
Great video. Thanks for the information. Can you tell me how you get the ‘Switches Test’ page.
I went into monitors but couldn’t find that page on my TX16S
Press the System button, go to Hardware. It's the last option on that page.
RC Video Reviews Thank you. That would have taken forever for me to find that. Love my TX16S, and I am getting even more out of it after subscribing and watching your tutorials.
Glad to hear it Al. Happy to know my work is helping people out.
Hey do u have any idea what the Bluetooth on the Radiomaster TX16S is for and how to use it .. love ur videos..
I'm not sure.
Just subbed. Question, does the Radiomaster tx16s support xk, spektrum, omp, eachine models?
Here is the list of protocols supported by the MPM: github.com/pascallanger/DIY-Multiprotocol-TX-Module/blob/master/Protocols_Details.md Good idea to bookmark that one.
@@RCVideoReviews from what google says all will bind to Radiomaster transmitter, you agree?
I would have to know the exact protocol and match it against the list in the Protocol Details link I provided earlier.
@@RCVideoReviews I'll send you what I found tomorrow.
How do you get to the switches test screen? Regards
System - Page to Hardware Tab - Scroll Left to Debug - Highlight Keys press jog dial.
Can you show me tx16s binding with dsmx and how to work as3x or safe with too ? Please reply me again thanks.
Sorry no. I don't buy Spektrum Rx's. Here is a video showing how to bind to a DSM compatible Receiver though: ruclips.net/video/Jfxmw--1Brg/видео.html
Wouldn't pressing straight in on t123&4 centre the trim setting??? Just guessing could this be true.?? Cant test as I've not got a TX16 but watching you videos to learn Opentx on horus x12s
No. Pressing in on the trim switches just activates up and down. I tried it. It either moves the trim up or down, or up then down.
How do you get to the "Switches Test" page?
From the home screen, press: Sys. Press Page Left 2x that will bring you to the Hardware Tab. Scroll left one click. That puts the cursor on the bottom of that page on "Switches" Press the jog dial.
@@RCVideoReviews You are awesome! tanks!!!
How did you get to the Switches Test page?
From the Home Screen Press SYSTEM -> PAGE LEFT -> PAGE LEFT -> SCROLL LEFT and HIGHLIGHT KEYS -> PRESS JOG DIAL to SELECT
@@RCVideoReviews Well, never equated KEYS to SWITCHES. Thank you for the education. As an old adage... "A good pilot is always learning."
@@RCVideoReviews Well, never equated KEYS to SWITCHES. Thank you for the education. As an old adage... "A good pilot is always learning."
Interesting,I'm assuming that function is by chance and was never intended?
I've never heard of it or seen it referenced. The Jumper switches do not press down like this, they're fixed on that axis.
@@RCVideoReviews Seems a strange function to add, anyway just would like to say thanks for the info on the 4 in 1 module . I've now got it just as I wanted tar
@@alantoseland6629 Momentary switches are very awesome to have for any number of reasons:
- Instant Trim
- Reset Timer
- Add 1 minute to Timer
- Throttle Lock
- Arm Quad
- Take Screenshot
- Trainer Enable
- Mute Volume
- Lower/Raise Gear
Oddly, they only give 1 momentary switch on the radio. So any time we can find a way to get more momentary switches it's a win. This function adds two more.
Did you compile your own 4in1 firmware?
@@RCVideoReviews yes I did in the end thanks
@@alantoseland6629 Awesome. You're the first person to report back success in compiling firmware.
Does anyone fly pitch inverted on the right stick?
I don't. The very first plane I ever touched with a control required a pull toward me to go up, so it stuck. Are you flying with an inverted pitch stick? Gamer?
@@RCVideoReviews yes I'm a gamer, with pushing forward to go down n pulling back to go up. I've always done it that way since I was a kid, im now nearly 40.
@@chriscottell6854 Yeah, that kind of thing tends to stick. It's pretty easy to invert your controls. Is that what you were asking or just checking-in to see if there are any other inverted pitch flyers out there?
@@RCVideoReviews both really, thanku.
@@chriscottell6854 Yeah, real easy. Go to outputs screen, go down to the elevator line, put your cursor over the little arrow near the end of the line and press down on the jog dial. That'll reverse your servo and bam--inverted pitch.
