      You’re so welcome! Yeah there’s so many grains you can use. I hope you’ve had fun making!

      Yes I have a massive amount ready as gifts for autumn.
      I think the buckwheat holds heat better or maybe it’s the fabric choices that makes a difference?

      @@MaximumCC buckwheat is a grain I haven’t tried yet so not sure but fabric thickness definitely plays a role in length of heat

    Thanks ❤ I’ll make one as there are a lot on the market and some are poor quality sticking and fall apart. Your idea is wonderful. This should help with my arthritis in my hip at night 😇

    I made neck wraps with channels & used rice. It has been the only time using my triple stitch function on my machine to really reinforce the ends. Thx as I have learned from you that wheat works too. I put lavender essential oil in my rice too for the aromatherapy affect. Also, when making trivets I use a kitchen mix like clove, cinnamon or even lemon essential oil so when the hot casserole dish hits it the aroma escapes. 👍✅💟

      Oh I’m so glad you liked my video! Rice works wonderfully - I use that for my eye pillows as well as lavender. I love the idea for the trivets! That would make the house smell beautiful 🥰

    Thank you for video. Would you be able to do a video on how to make a removal cover for this one?

    I really like this project. I'd like to make some as gifts. How to you present the heating instructions? Thank you.

    • @RondelleDesigns
      @RondelleDesigns  Год назад +1

      Hi I’m sorry I’ve only just seen this comment. I would suggest just printing a little instructions sheet. I include the following on mine: hear in 30 second increments with a glass of water in the microwave with heat bag, allow to cool completely before covering or storing. Do not over heat as this is a fire hazard

    I use cherry pits. It only takes me two or three years to save my pits. I also get family members to save them for me too lol . I don’t know if you can buy cherry pits or not, but they are my favorite because rice seems too heavy

    I've always kept my hear packs in the freezer. And if needed to be heated I can, but I don't need to worry about trying to cool it down

    What would you do if it got dirty, can you machine wash and dry it?

    • @RondelleDesigns
      @RondelleDesigns  8 месяцев назад

      You’d just need to avoid getting it dirty. You can wipe down with a damp cloth but couldn’t wash it as the wheat grains would go mouldy. Some people cover their wheat bag with a tea towel - the other option is to use plain fabric for the main wheat bag and then create a cover for it that is removable and washable

    Does the wheat have to be cleaned?

    • @RondelleDesigns
      @RondelleDesigns  8 месяцев назад

      No, you don’t want to wet it as it could go mouldy.

    Are the dimensions you use ?

    • @RondelleDesigns
      @RondelleDesigns  Год назад +1

      From memory this one is around 15cm x 40cm but you can make it any size you like. If it’s for around your neck, actually put the fabric around your neck to get an idea of how long it should be

      I’m just watching this & wondering what wheat do you use? I’ve made these from rice & lentils but not from wheat. I make removable covers for washing & make the actual rice holders from nice muslin.
