If you'd like to revert to the default taskbar icon for your program, try to unpin and repin the program to the taskbar. If that does not work, head back to the change icon option and find and select the .exe for the program. You should then have the option to set the default icon. You'll the need to restart windows explorer again to get the icon to show.
Oh man, I would never have figured out how to find the properties on those shortcuts myself. Thanks for the helpful video, it was exactly what I needed!
Not sure what it is on my computer, but some of my apps just show up as a default screen icon, even when the preferences say it should be the app icon. I'll see if it still does that after changing it, though.
Great tutorial. In Linux we constantly change themes, icons, mouse pointer, but in windows it is so obvious that I never thought of using this feature for the taskbar (instead of the desktop). Your flat/2 colors icons look cool!
@@zagrosardalan7502 Unfortunately this doesn’t work for apps downloaded from the Microsoft store. However you can download Spotify from their website then you can then change its icon.
Im trying to do this on win10 but my icons look blurry after i change them, whats the adequate resolution for the ico files ? Is there a fix for this ? And also why doesnt the libraries icon change ? I'm tryng to change it to the windows 7 icon. Has anyone successfully change it on win10?
I had the same problem, I fixed it by 1) I unpinned my app from the taskbar 2) changed the icon from the shortcut on my desktop 3) open that shortcut 4) and repinned it. That did the trick for me. good luck!
