Nice upgrade! I upgraded mine as well to a 4s brushless 3665 4500kv system. Added some small wheel extenders for better stability. Waiting for my 4s battery to come in to test it out…it’s a monster!!! lol
4WD drifting is going to be difficult on an indoor track as they tend to be much faster and less precise than RWD drift cars. The truck probably would have been a ton of fun drifting on that larger carpet track with those hard Yokomo tires. This truck looks incredible with those upgrades, thinking about doing the same with my Hoonicorn 😊
I couldn’t agree more that this model needed so go along with all the show. I think we need a video upgrading the reflex 14r. Same good looks with a turd of a power combo.
Great video I have this truck and really love it . will you be upgrading to the aluminum shocks and which servo will you be putting in this truck. I cant wait for that video, servo looks like its hard to get to the two inner screws. currenly changing diff oil wondering if now is the time to upgrade the servo considering that the whole front end is off the truck. Please do the servo video soon. Love the channel. Also could you put a gyro in this truck and if so what brand would you reccomend?
Finally somebody who's gone upgrade the hooni truck like it was supposed to be from the start, why used a brushed motor instead of brushless, smh how bout to get more money outta it, I get it, so what combo set up would be best, let's see what he comes up with...
I have the same setup in my Honitruck I did change to aluminum wheels and some slicks. They handle much better than the MJX or UDI trucks and cars. Like a lot better. Even with the Gyro that the MJX and UDI come with the Hoonitruck is on rails with no gyro. That's what happens when you have an actual race team that designs the cars and not just a bunch of copies. I can't wait for the Team Associated SR7 Hoonicrorn 1/7 scale to come out. Have you heard any more news? Have you seen the chassis yet guys? If it is as good as their TC7.2 on a larger scale, it will be a beast!
Amain should stock a bearing kit for the Apex2 Sport. Truck looks great with that power system and a lot of fun. Tires held up surprisingly well considered how much power sliding was involved :D
@@daveshank1921 true, but it would be a lot easier to have a complete bearing set without having to piece together one. Fast Eddy's sells a set, Amain just doesn't carry it currently.
That is a great video. Are you thinking of doing a video on the new Amain facility? I'm sure people would be interested in the new indoor, outdoor tracks, and the store.
Is it worth adding the centre diff offered by team associated? The stock hoonicorn/hoonitruck diff housing seems to be ready for it yet they only give you the fixed shaft and standard.
I really feel associated and element have really dropped the ball. The resort to bushings and in the case of the unicorn car and truck both of which should have been brushless. Now I get they had to pay a licensing fee for the body but the price got increased and I find it very hard to believe that they can build drag cars for $200 and they are brushless but they couldn't be bothered to put bearings and a brushless setup in these. Not to mention associated socks seem to leak like a sieve. My brand new dr-10 I had to rebuild the shocks as they were all devoid of any oil and I had to clean the oil off the car new out of the box.
Y'all need to do more videos on new releases. I like watching yours more than most others but you all don't put them out very often come on now man I need more videos from you
So far so good! Getting the tracks installed has made it a lot better. The track crew have worked their butts off, putting in some long hours. Props to them. -Brett
They have the Team Associated SR7 Honnicorn 1/7 scale RTR coming out soon. That body might fit since the Incfaction 3s is about the same size as a 1/8 scale. I know it will fit the 6s infraction. The ZD racing Hoonicorn clone body might fit. Or the Bitty Design Mustang body which is the same thing basically.
How you make the curves fantastic hahahaha. If you can make the wheels turn even more hahahaha I don't want to think about the continuity of drift on asphalt yes
kinda bummed I need to spend so much for the base truck and then more for proper power. Ive been on the lookout for them to sell a roller chassis and licensed body so I can shove my own electrics in it
Gyro is not required for 4wd drifting, but damn near impossible with RWD. Yes, the gyro does a lot of the work, especially for RWD drifting, but to become good at it still requires skill. Not everyone who drifts RWD hits all the clipping points.
@NathanStorer-RC I would say that in chasing what could work to get a 2wd rc car to "drift" (e.g. gyros, miniscule slick tires, extreme non-scale steering locks), the community lost sight of recreating what a full scale street drift car is actually doing. There has to be a better solution
@mhrcracing Not going to lie, when I first learned that RWD RC drifting used gyros, it took some of the glamor of it away for me. Nonetheless, it still requires skill to do it well. Higher grip tires and heavier vehicles would probably get you closer to that true to scale experience without a gyro. You would probably need a larger track as well. While these vehicles are "10th scale", they would realistically have to weigh 300lbs to truly be 10th scale and use real rubber tires replicate the handling characteristics of a full size vehicle. With the vehicles being as light as they are, and having super slick tires, they're too twitchy without a gyro. Heck, they're dang near impossible to drive in a straight line without a gyro, much less around a corner lol.
Not even close. Multiple world championships in every race category would equate to intelligence. You can't say that about any other brand. Losi and Yokomo are the only ones that come close. At least explain why you think they are the dumbest? Throwing wild claims like that without any evidence is pretty dumb in itself. 😉
This is the way it should of come from stock!
Now that's a proper Hoonitruck. Ken would be proud!
Great minds think alike! I’ve just done the same to mine 🤯
Remember I asked you if you could change the bearings on the RC?😅
That’s sick it leaves little black marks on the ground👌
We are familiar with the "tire marks" on the floor! :) Great video!
This is one of the best videos I seen on this channel. This hop up video is so well done that it should increase the sale of this RC. 👍
she's a ripper now!!! that floor in the office is so perfect for drifting, reminds me i gotta put my drift car back together
This is crazy I thought that the set up using a lipo and upgrading the gears made those small cars a little ripper but this is next level
Bro no Gyro at the end? I give you props on driving, it looked very Hoonitruck to me 👍
I like how it still squats when he hits it even with it already sitting low in back, super cool, now let's see him let it rip..
Love the noise from the castle electronics

Wheel extenders! We should have tried that, bet it looks cool too. Great idea!

Now that's a Hoonitruck!!!! Great Video
HooniBrett with the awesome Hoonitruck, this was fun to watch!
4:51 oh no, your in some big trouble now little fella
I couldn’t agree more that this model needed so go along with all the show. I think we need a video upgrading the reflex 14r. Same good looks with a turd of a power combo.
Can you do a review on the Radiomaster MT12 Radio?
That would be awsome. I ordered mine it should be here tomorrow. Can't wait.
Like button energized. Good stuff my friend, have a good week.
Y'all need to build and test a kyosho turbo optima
block would be proud. R.I.P ken block. pro drifter

Nice driving and cool action shots. Earned the thumbs up from me =)

Good to see you man.. been missing the amain vids!
Hi, can you please try the drift tyres on the carpet track next time?
Ken Block approved now!! Sheiit 😎
Amain should stock a bearing kit for the Apex2 Sport. Truck looks great with that power system and a lot of fun. Tires held up surprisingly well considered how much power sliding was involved :D
Amains Protek brand has all the bearings you would need.
@@daveshank1921 true, but it would be a lot easier to have a complete bearing set without having to piece together one. Fast Eddy's sells a set, Amain just doesn't carry it currently.
I love this video.....wath it every f____ing day.......built mine exacly like it put it on shelf......... Car as well.....
Great video. Love Amain
So we're just not going to talk about that VW Baja bug😱😱😱🥵
Man that thing looks good
Brett is awesome!
That is a great video.
Are you thinking of doing a video on the new Amain facility? I'm sure people would be interested in the new indoor, outdoor tracks, and the store.
Yes, the next video! It will probably come out next week.
-Brett
One of them ones we hate to get all scuffed up, but we can never be to careful when having fun with a badass powerful rc , smh
43 was the best top speed it could’ve landed on
When do we get a video of the new facilities.
Next week, it's the next video
-Brett
Pretty freaking cool dude...😎🤙🏼

Looks
Performance
Choose one.
Nice review
Wow, what was that orange bug looking like thing? Its awesome!
Wasn't that wild! It belongs to someone who came to use the r/c track. I'm not sure who it was but we need to find out!
-Brett
Have you seen any upgrades for the gears? I am looking for upgraded diffs
I really feel associated and element have really dropped the ball. The resort to bushings and in the case of the unicorn car and truck both of which should have been brushless. Love me some high speed drifting!
How are liking your new digs there on Fair St. ?
So far so good! Getting the tracks installed has made it a lot better. The track crew have worked their butts off, putting in some long hours. Props to them.

Great 👍 video !
But how long will the gears diffs and axles live for ?
Wow very cool
Can you do more tamiya king hauler videos cause I gonna need some advice once I can afford one
Awesome
very good mods 😀😀
They need to make this body for the arrma 3s infraction I turned mine into a 4s and it's fast
They have the Team Associated SR7 Honnicorn 1/7 scale RTR coming out soon. That body might fit since the Incfaction 3s is about the same size as a 1/8 scale. I know it will fit the 6s infraction. I was wondering when you were gonna upload again.. lol
Bro it sound like the real thing
Awesome!!!!
How you make the curves fantastic hahahaha. If you can make the wheels turn even more hahahaha I don't want to think about the continuity of drift on asphalt yes
mjx hyper go 14301 eat this easly, and its way cheaper 😂
Just like the real Hoonitruck, needs a new set of tires every 5 minutes.
kinda bummed I need to spend so much for the base truck and then more for proper power. Ive been on the lookout for them to sell a roller chassis and licensed body so I can shove my own electrics in it
Or change the spur and pinion and get 60mph stock
Should have used a Mamba X
9:30 in, your lipos wires look exposed from them being folded. careful there
Get rid of that low powered controller and receiver that associated uses its rtr radio is garbage.
You guys REALLY should protect those wires before you apply zip ties. Wrap them in velcro first THEN add a zip tie.
This vid proves that people that use gyros for drifting are just glorified backseat drivers.
Agreed, "rc drifting" as it's become is a joke and not even a scale recreation
Gyro is not required for 4wd drifting, but damn near impossible with RWD. Yes, the gyro does a lot of the work, especially for RWD drifting, but to become good at it still requires skill. Not everyone who drifts RWD hits all the clipping points.

Sounds like a power slider comment 🤔 😂
Dumbest name in the business no thanks
