A bunch of metal kids back in the day used to rock high top Nikes almost exclusively too, even though "sneaker culture" and that world didn't blatantly have a symbiotic thing, it's still cool and interesting to see what different scenes tend to adopt. It would be interesting to find some guys from classic speed metal bands and such and talk to them about their Vandals and stuff.

I worked at foot action / foot locker from 2005-2008 and it was the greatest experience to have seen lots of sneakers release. Everyone went crazy for the g-unit sneakers lol good ole days

Yup late 90 and early 2000 was crazy - everyone had a shoe model, and peak of this trend was skate shoes. Litellary every single one of "pro skaters" had his own pro model...that was so sick back then.

Lugs ad was in every hiphop magazine, I remember K1X had their thing with Ron Artest and their stuff was pretty fine too. Still got the GXT IIIs in great conditions which I bought cuz I couldnt find a white based pair of af1s in seoul back then (they only had few pairs of af25 1s left) Still remember soulja boy's Yums rippin off Bapestas and later Rick Ross gettin his Watermelon cw.

I love AF1's because of Nelly, my favorite shoe to date. Got multiple pairs, always loved the unique simplicity of them
I've ALWAYS made sure to have a nice pair of all white and all black AF1's every year since my teenage days in the mid 90's when friends and I started wearing them way BEFORE Nelly came out with that track.

Daddy yankee sneakers did come out to the general public, i remember seeing them being sold in sneaker boutiques in Manhattan, the village had alot of exclusives that other stores didn't carry.

@@NachoAverageFinds i dont ware them as much but i do from time to time. Im in to GYW boots now so that takes moste of my time. Pony is almost unworn. Those soles are smooth as f so i could newer enjoy them and survive in the same time
You forgot IceCream. The original IceCream boutiques where awesome. They had great prints. Super limited and came in IceCream carton looking shoe box. Still have my beepers and diamond and dollars. They were very soft and had an awesome bottom.
