Once had an Afternoon Tea with its menu include light cakes, scones and small sandwiches. The sandwich fillings often feature cucumber, smoked salmon, coronation chicken or egg mayonnaise. They seemed exquisite and English people they are quite insistent on this point!
I was used to be one of the members under a team of English guys all from UK here in Taipei. The leader set the friday afternoon as our regular team meeting, and the place was always at the famous English style tea house 古典玫瑰園 with classic English afternoon tea set for us. That was quite enjoyable time as this vedio reminds me of that. Thanks ❤
I had numbers of experiences of having afternoon tea in Exeter during 2012 to 2015 when I was a Phd student. The price I remember is around £30 and the restaurant is near a quay. The atmosphere looks natural and felt tranquility. It is nice and good memorial experience, having afternoon tea in UK.
We have afternoon tea sets available everywhere in Hong Kong, but they are much cheaper. We don't have fancy stuff for tea time; we simply just eat the tea set and go.
Afternoon tea is normal habit in hk especially before 1997, ppl have it at 15:15pm while working to take a short break, usually sandwiches, chicken wings, chicken legs or egg tarts with tea or coffee, and you also can have afternoon tea set in restaurants with various dishes. Recent year scone getting involved in afternoon tea in classical British style afternoon tea in hotels and coffee houses and not that expensive like the video one, may be next time Susie come again can try how taste is our scone
Once you said Four Seasons, my eyes went wide opened and my jaw dropped. The cups and plates are very fine china, and with live Elton John music, I could tell it wouldn't be ordinary. It's an experience, but probaly once is enough.
It’s interesting how often Hong Kong housewives (especially those who have a more privileged background) have afternoon in hotel, all sorts of fancy cafe and restaurants here in HK. And recently more of the 20-30s enjoy doing that. They dress up, book a table on the phone, enjoy it and then keep taking tonnes of pictures on the way and finally post their sandwiches, scones and selfie and usies (group self taking photos) online.
I remember when I was in London, the tea time store(like cheaper, affordable in like Covent Garden) was fully occupied..... maybe, the people in the store were not British at all
I tried to experience the way of enjoying high tea twice, and failed. Years ago, when I and my wife on a trip of “ Canadian Rocky Mountain “, we had a stop at Louise lake. The famous Castle Hotel got a fancy place serving high tea . Yet my wife turned down my proposal of having high tea there. It’s just too expensive. Last December, when we’re traveling in Sydney,Australia, we visited the Vaucluse House. Due to communication problem, our reservations for high tea was ineffective. However, I once treated my younger sister with high tea at “Yen Bar” Taipei. It was a great experience. I think I just have to do it again.
I think in Hong Kong afternoon tea (or someone say Hi tea) is still a thing for some Hongkongers. For me, I had tasted very good scones in a posh cafe in Hong Kong where they offer different taste like apricot rosemary, almond matcha, earl grey lemon... but sadly it was closed at 2022😢
Yes. It is extremely popular in construction industry. They call it "eat 3 point 3". It means afternoon tea. 3 point 3 because it is a industry norm that afternoon tea starts at 3:15 p.m.
It is delighted to experience the British afternoon tea. It would be more culturally immersive if there were more Victorian-era artifacts on display.😀 Thanks for sharing.
It is pleasurable to bring RUclipsrs from Taiwan a British style afternoon tea, Miss Susie. And looking terrible to see that the train service has a strike, that affects the working hours.
super luxurious experience!!!
I can repeat them again and again, not only for learning English but also it's quite interesting.

Susei, wow, you look stunning in this video! I rarely eat scones, because it's too dry, maybe one day I'll try it again.

British accent

Actually the Scone and lemon curd can be found in F&M afternoon tea! Tasty
You are gorgeous and amazing. Love you and your British accent ❤

WOW, A classical weather in London.
High tea.
This topic is always remind me of the TV serious Mrs. Hyacinth Bucket. Haha.
In my home, we call it snacks.🤣 Having these desserts and tea in my bedroom is much more enjoyable ---- for an introvert.
The current British culture is to walk in the rain without an umbrella

I would recommend you going to tranditional tea room in Kensington or Richmond, it is much more British.

extremely wonderful !!!
We invented AFTERNOON TEA because we have too much food and too much time to kill😂 I like the vibe but I'm not a dessert person.

The ivy
It's quite different from what I'm thinking about the afternoon tee with the images of old London
can't believe you only had afternoon tea twice! Susie /0\
An expensive tea , however is worth to try . Good experience I suppose. 😉
You know Susie, we almost have afternoon tea everyday in Hong Kong😊😊

It would be nice to know why you choose this place to have an afternoon tea😊 and where is it

Wold it be ok for someone who prefers coffee to tea during traditional afternoon tea time in UK in a modern establishment, and fruits to scones?

What a pouring rain and walking without cats and dogs! 😂
Afternoon dim sum any day instead 😅
Would be nice to brown the bread a bit?
Thanks!
Thank you Michael!
At the beginning of the video, why British people always brave the rain but not to take umbrella out? It's quite weird in the Asian countries 🤔
Good video
In what ways would you be impacted by the upcoming cancellation of London's one-day Travelcard?
😍😍😍
I came here to listen to the British accent
sometimes tea isnot meaning really tea, it is coffee or alcohol as well.

hk have afternoon tea haha

So not taking an umbrella is a part of the traditional culture of the UK when it's raining

Its a warmly party but not for me😂
Wait till King Charles or Prince William calls you for afternoon tea, then I wonder how hard their scone will be. 😎😎
shouldn't people take hat off indoor?
