Mark in the comments pointed out that the Increase Attack (Moonlit Snow) actually conflicts with Rage, my testing afterwards confirmed this. The Ki Recovery Moonlit Snow also conflicts with the Ki recovery from Barrier talisman. Considering this I'd suggest either the Defense buff to make you tankier for trading hits or the Pleidas buff to charge your amrita gauge quicker.

While I'm working on updates to a couple of the builds, this one was potent enough that I had to take a Walkthrough break to get it out. Freaking insane damage. Add in the Todo Clan buff and you can make it even MORE ridiculous.

Jared Lucus totally agree, Im at around level 160 and still nowhere close enough to even start on these builds. Just shows i will have endless hours on this game and i love it.
Rage attack increase doesn’t stack with power up items like power pill, etc. 5 pcs Master archer set+2 pcs master swordsman(heavy) is a great lightening damage build for Odachi too(with Yasakani Magatama to have 6 and 3 set bonuses) Guardian Sprit I go with Ame-no-Mitori as primary spirit which increases lightening damage even further and Inosasao as secondary spirt which reduces damage taken when attack since Moonlit Snow is almost standing still. As of Atlas bear, well, it sure boots a little bit more damage but Ame-no-Mitori gives you more swiftness.
Made this build last night and it's really good, except I use tengen as primary and mitori as secondary and 2 pieces oni shibata set with onryoki, onyudo and oni bi soul cores and it's doing really well for me I usually main axe but got bored after finishing my build so enjoying odachi atm. Question. If I'm not using the Axe buff, does it matter if I use the katana rather than the axe to reach the neccessary pieces for the armor set bonus? Just didnt want two giant weapons hanging off my back if it wasnt required.
@@jayr5mitty351 Abduction sub mission. You can run to the left to start, and just let the lamp spawn heads. when it runs out go back to shrine and it'll refresh the lamp. Just don't destroy the lamp
It seems the lightning dmg is a waste cuz you dont do any lightning dmg tbh. You just want the shock proc with this built for the discount sloth effect.
Tried it with 5 piece golden boy, 2 piece oni shibata, tengen as primary and ami mitori (sorry cnt think of the name) secondary for 10% lightning damage, use oni bi for elemental damage and onryoki for 10% damage reduction mid attack which synergises with oni shibata set, yasakani with life absorption and lightning damage and magatama with the same and its doing really well. I dnt like using rage all the time and when lightning procs you see the damage from golden boy set.

I had a very similar build in Nioh 1 that I love; however, once I hit Way of the Demon/Wise I couldn't afford to trade hits anymore so I swapped to the faster sword. I maintained the same skill damage archetype but moved to sword with flowing shadow. Easily pumped out 15,000-30,000 per hit damage by the time Way of the Nioh was a thing
You merely adopted the Moonlit Snow, i was born in it. All you casuals, don't get used to this play style. Face tanking moonlit snow spam on the higher difficulties will not work.
It doesn't even work right now=D getting rekt 10 times and that one time they kill the boss goes online and people think that it works everytime=D Its good to try new stuff but yeah.
@@Asirpa_ It's working just fine for me. I'm doing Dream of the Strong, 4th region and the second DLC on Samurai with no problems. I don't have the same odachi he has so I just made a divine one with a set bonus have lightning on it. I'm also not min maxed to the extreme. Haven't used any orange inheritables onto my gear. FYI you'll need 75 stamina to have B agility with Obsidian. A weapon with life on hit or kill, plus life back on two accessories makes this really tanky.
@@Asirpa_ Yeah This requires a lot of stamina to be in B agility. I didn't get it till early 2nd game cycle. I played it a bit with C agility to enjoy the change when I finally got B.
This is basically the build I've been running for the last week. It was irritating in the last Odachi video seeing that C Agility, while also the proclamation about how you needed Heart and Courage to "offset" the Ki issues, when all you really needed to do was make stamina the main stat. I had similar health and damage, but B Agility without any need to go beyond 10 in either Heart or Courage, which freed up a lot of points for other things, like at least hitting the capacity cap in Onmyo. Also, as good as the Obsidian set is (wore it until upgrading to Tatenashi), at 99 stamina you are at exactly 70% weight with the Tatenashi set, which offers a bit better damage reduction and only slightly less damage. It also allows you to use either Purity or Corruption based weapons without having to worry about the axe as much, although lightning is still good for either. You could always just wear four pieces of Tatenashi and one Obsidian for the Rage bonus. Edit: Holy crap. Level 260. I'm sure by that point I could have these stats too, but you're already way beyond the end of NG+. I just finished NG and am at level 115 with 99 stamina and 22 magic. This is all interesting, but what's the point? Just getting ready for the DLC or something? But anyway, good job raising that stamina. ;p Oh, and as amazing as Moonlit Snow is, I think you're sleeping on high stance and mashing triangle with the axe. It's mindless and breaks Yokai about as fast. Biggest difference is Ki use, which is a lot less using Moonlit Snow.
@@Vinniexxx4125 For the full set it requires 81 stamina. Slightly less if you are planning on raising strength to 99 anyway, but IMO, while you are leveling up it makes more sense to just focus on stamina. Get your magic and dex to 10 and just keep raising stamina every level.

with altar bear bonus, lower ki get more attack power, so this is a build that u wanna spend ur ki fast. So even if agility is C, it will still be fine

I tried his build out and I actually tempered my gear/weapons with all the best stats needed for build. At this point I just need higher +divine gear to really pump out numbers but Moon lit Snow does tremendous damage killing most enemies with one combo. Other bosses are still not a match if you know the mechanics and can read your enemy. with barrier and steel talisman you can take on anything. Plus I love seeing those big numbers coupled with the shock accumulation and pure lightning damage ⚡️and atlas bear counters are sexy like the Yokai shift
You can put Rage in say High Stance and the other R1 +O skills in mid and low stance and buff with all 3 with the axe and I believe they stack with the buffs from either Tengen or Power pill/steel/ barrier can’t remember which one
I actually got a question for you. Do you happen to know the average % difference in damage between stances? For example does high stance lights do 10/15/20% more than mid or low? Not sure if you know but I figured you'd probably be the one to.
I got 2 in a row from corpses and ice before the boss there's a chest that dropped it in the yokai realm with the many legged yokai and also the group of 3 just after it wielding odachi

Saw some videos of Level 1 characters beating up bosses bare handed. I wonder how far can you push bare handed damage, you could do a One-Punch-Man built!
So I built this, put lighting damage & shock accumulation on my accessories & Futsunomitama, and w the 6 piece bonus I do not see any life gain from lightning attacks at all. Like a full moonlit snow hitting for sometimes 4-5k, and not one tick of life regain? Am I missing something? Sorry if someone answered this already

Actually using this exact build other than primary guardian with dual blades and its absolute chaos. Replace STR with skill and dump on everything, and that's low stance duals, lol. The leech/ele damage in low stance+lightning just melts. BTW pretty sure zero ki enemy means zero ki. Not more damage as ki falls. When their bar is red is zero ki. Which don't last long enough to be worth it IMO. Prolly be more worth it to pop on a different element oni b for more ele damage/anima charge. I use all 3 and its pretty nuts.
@@FightinCowboy Oh I'm sure, you can pump out a ton of damage on their break Windows. I was more pointing towards lesser yokai. They seem to pop puddles/dark realm rather quickly. Assuming they last long enough lol. Definitely gonna give this a shot though, it looks nice. I've tried all your builds so far. The spear one is my favorite, just wish ki wasn't such a problem with it.
I know this is a very late game build, but I'm low level right now in NG building up, and I have my STR & STM both equally at 30, and my level is 59. Should I save upgrading stamina more for later and focus more on STR? Or keep doing them equal for now?
I thought that the purple attack bonus overwrites inherent attack bonus if the stat scaling for both is the same, Like attack bonus strength A+ would overwrite with your odachis attack bonus strength A-, and that it would be better to go for Attack bonus Magic or constitution A+
@FightinCowboy Instead of running for Lightning Damage, would Inosasao as secondary be good? It has Brute damage which is whatever, but it has -7.5% mid attack damage. Could definitely help you trade hits mid Moonlit Snow. You don't do much Lightning damage it seems comparatively; you're attacks hit for like 3k each and the lightning damage is hitting for double digits only. Unless increased Lightning Damage procs the Shock quicker?
Great vid! Love odachi and im running a sta/str build with support from onmyo magic. I was wondering, how much stamina do u need to get to 55 equip load, to get B agility with heavy sets like obsidian samurai. Im currently at 40sta 40str with 48,4 max load.
It's close to 99 in both str/stm to hit B agility. Obsidian is lighter for heavy armors so I think after 99 str it's like 80 Stam but there's some sets that even with 99 in both you're still in C
this used to be my axe set in nioh 1, it goes very well with the axe mythic art "Intensity". And i did match it with odachi once the first DLC came out too during that time. And now in nioh 2, i actually have the whole set in green already, but i dont have YM yet :(
I use same set up, but with gourd set, and i also stack omyo magic attack, and increase attk omyo magic hit, life drain with melee, accessory all have shocks accumulation , infuse with light and fire orb, buffed with carneig, barrier, sloth and weakness, i did like 10k per hit. Boss died in like 5 sec
If you saw this symbol " [] > " in your gear. It means you can pass or transfer the skill that you want to your gear. For example: I have " [] > Toughness " skill Gloves and i want to transfer that skill to my head gear. All you have to do is raise the gear that has toughness and max the familiarity to 999 so that you can inherit that skill by doing SOUL MATCH. Same goes with Orange inheritable. *Tip: To faster max familiarity to your gear. GO TO HIGH SPIRITED DEMON BOSS AND FARM HIM TO RAISE FAMILIARITY. DONT KILL HIM. Rinse and repeat.
Cowboy, I mixed your Tonfas build with the Axe spin build. Axe build talismans loadout and Shuten Doji's club as secondary weapon. Club remodeled with Courage. Battle focused then switch to tonfas for humans and watch how long they can keep blocking! Yokai? Tengen Kujaku loadout and Yatagerasu.
Kico Juevos I was talking about a combo of his other builds. I use Imakomei with Tonfas and Axe (spear now). Using the Tonfas build with the justsu loadout from the Axe's build. Not using lightning, but fire.
Thanks you two :). I always pressed it right but most of the time the enemies blocked the attack. It just says that I have to do 3 consecutive attacks so I thought without hitting is enoguh. Was just wrong thinking on my part :)

This build with life recovery on amrita absorption on your accessories and chest piece and extraction talisman.. that’ll make u give zero fucks about taking damage and annihilate the enemy at the same time.
Masticatius inheritable stats from other pieces of gear. You’ll see a small orange icon next to the stat, which means it can be passed on to another piece of gear once you have max familiarity with the gear or weapon you choose to sacrifice to pass on that stat. Then you can temper it into a new skill!
What if you run obsidian set build(axe/sword) lvl 120. What would be the stats to place points into? Also what are some of the perks to look for on our gear? I don’t really understand the perks and how they stack with everything else! Help

I recommend running Tengen with this because of A) odachi synergy and B) it's like a 25% damage increase with the high stance buff

You can farm Tunderstorm oni-bi soul core in mission Pervading Waters 3rd region.
There is a lamp that keeps spawning them.

Is swirling snow an active skill? maybe rolling active skill ki consumption on some pieces would be good.
You burn through double ki with rage active, the difference will be barely visible

At this point I just need higher +divine gear to really pump out numbers but Moon lit Snow does tremendous damage killing most enemies with one combo. Other bosses are still not a match if you know the mechanics and can read your enemy. with barrier and steel talisman you can take on anything. Plus I love seeing those big numbers coupled with the shock accumulation and pure lightning damage ⚡️and atlas bear counters are sexy like the Yokai shift
Running with two Master Archer Bows, would give you the 15 lightning set bonus of that set.
I don't think you can stack two of the same items.

You can put Rage in say High Stance and the other R1 +O skills in mid and low stance and buff with all 3 with the axe and I believe they stack with the buffs from either Tengen or Power pill/steel/ barrier can’t remember which one

I actually got a question for you. Do you happen to know the average % difference in damage between stances? For example does high stance lights do 10/15/20% more than mid or low? Not sure if you know but I figured you'd probably be the one to.

I got 2 in a row from corpses and ice before the boss there's a chest that dropped it in the yokai realm with the many legged yokai and also the group of 3 just after it wielding odachi

You should run attack down,sloth,weakness tailismen,and defense up talisman to stay in on boss and never have to worry about it
Stupid question:. Why aktive skill stats instead of melee as melee is for all attacks? Or am I missing something?
So I built this, put lighting damage & shock accumulation on my accessories & Futsunomitama, and w the 6 piece bonus I do not see any life gain from lightning attacks at all. Like a full moonlit snow hitting for sometimes 4-5k, and not one tick of life regain? Am I missing something? Sorry if someone answered this already

God I love nioh. Favorite game of this console generation.
Actually using this exact build other than primary guardian with dual blades and its absolute chaos. Replace STR with skill and dump on everything, and that's low stance duals, lol. The leech/ele damage in low stance+lightning just melts. BTW pretty sure zero ki enemy means zero ki. Not more damage as ki falls. When their bar is red is zero ki. Which don't last long enough to be worth it IMO. Prolly be more worth it to pop on a different element oni b for more ele damage/anima charge. I use all 3 and its pretty nuts.
It helps a lot on Yokai bosses.
@@FightinCowboy Oh I'm sure, you can pump out a ton of damage on their break Windows. I was more pointing towards lesser yokai. They seem to pop puddles/dark realm rather quickly. Assuming they last long enough lol. Definitely gonna give this a shot though, it looks nice. I've tried all your builds so far. The spear one is my favorite, just wish ki wasn't such a problem with it.

I know this is a very late game build, but I'm low level right now in NG building up, and I have my STR & STM both equally at 30, and my level is 59.
Should I save upgrading stamina more for later and focus more on STR? Or keep doing them equal for now?
Focus strength but keep enough Stam to be at a B in agility

I thought that the purple attack bonus overwrites inherent attack bonus if the stat scaling for both is the same, Like attack bonus strength A+ would overwrite with your odachis attack bonus strength A-, and that it would be better to go for Attack bonus Magic or constitution A+

@FightinCowboy Instead of running for Lightning Damage, would Inosasao as secondary be good? It has Brute damage which is whatever, but it has -7.5% mid attack damage. Could definitely help you trade hits mid Moonlit Snow. You don't do much Lightning damage it seems comparatively; you're attacks hit for like 3k each and the lightning damage is hitting for double digits only. Unless increased Lightning Damage procs the Shock quicker?

Great vid! Love odachi and im running a sta/str build with support from onmyo magic. I was wondering, how much stamina do u need to get to 55 equip load, to get B agility with heavy sets like obsidian samurai. Im currently at 40sta 40str with 48,4 max load.
It's close to 99 in both str/stm to hit B agility. Obsidian is lighter for heavy armors so I think after 99 str it's like 80 Stam but there's some sets that even with 99 in both you're still in C
this used to be my axe set in nioh 1, it goes very well with the axe mythic art "Intensity". And i did match it with odachi once the first DLC came out too during that time. And now in nioh 2, i actually have the whole set in green already, but i dont have YM yet :(

I use same set up, but with gourd set, and i also stack omyo magic attack, and increase attk omyo magic hit, life drain with melee, accessory all have shocks accumulation , infuse with light and fire orb, buffed with carneig, barrier, sloth and weakness, i did like 10k per hit. Boss died in like 5 sec

If you saw this symbol " [] > " in your gear. It means you can pass or transfer the skill that you want to your gear.
For example:
I have " [] > Toughness " skill Gloves and i want to transfer that skill to my head gear. All you have to do is raise the gear that has toughness and max the familiarity to 999 so that you can inherit that skill by doing SOUL MATCH. Same goes with Orange inheritable.
*Tip: To faster max familiarity to your gear. GO TO HIGH SPIRITED DEMON BOSS AND FARM HIM TO RAISE FAMILIARITY. DONT KILL HIM. Rinse and repeat.

Cowboy, I mixed your Tonfas build with the Axe spin build. Axe build talismans loadout and Shuten Doji's club as secondary weapon. Club remodeled with Courage. Battle focused then switch to tonfas for humans and watch how long they can keep blocking! Yokai? Tengen Kujaku loadout and Yatagerasu.
Having shin-roku as your main gives you a bigger lightning buff
Kico Juevos I was talking about a combo of his other builds. I use Imakomei with Tonfas and Axe (spear now). Using the Tonfas build with the justsu loadout from the Axe's build. Not using lightning, but fire.

To get any of the moonlit snow buffs you need to time it properly, it's 3 specific presses of triangle
Thanks you two :). I always pressed it right but most of the time the enemies blocked the attack. It just says that I have to do 3 consecutive attacks so I thought without hitting is enoguh. Was just wrong thinking on my part :)

play with stone penance, you should be able to roll “lucky drop weapon/accessory” on accessories in NG+. use that while using the gear and pray.

Ok I found out there are white and orange inheritable skills. Seems the orange text can add skills to your equipment
Masticatius inheritable stats from other pieces of gear. You’ll see a small orange icon next to the stat, which means it can be passed on to another piece of gear once you have max familiarity with the gear or weapon you choose to sacrifice to pass on that stat. Then you can temper it into a new skill!
