    Thank you everyone for popping in and checking out our little honeymoon adventure! I'd love to say it's great to be back in Edinburgh but I've just came home totally soaked after just popping out to buy a toothbrush, soooo.... fingers crossed the rest of November will treat us a bit better!

    Congratulations. You happened to come to New England when we were having "Indian Summer"... Summer like temperatures after the first frost and this year was very warm. Since winter is on it's way shortly we live for these short reprieves.
    Enjoy your travels in the US. Boston was a great first stop. ( I might be a bit biased ).

    Happy Honeymoon, Simon and Kat!!! Hope you enjoyed you trip to Boston! You guys are definitely among my most favorite RUclipsrs, and it's nice to see you both having fun. I'm curious,...I saw you, specifically, Simon, in a comic book store, and I was just wondering what you bought, if anything? If you're a collector/reader, Simon, what titles are your favorites, and what are you currently reading? I'm a comic book nerd, myself. I actually clean and press comic books for a living. Basically, that means taking a beat up comic and making it look much nicer. And, Kat, did you find the recipe for the chunky chocolate cookies you wanted? CHUNK, CHUNK, CHUNK!!!! Well, guys, hope you have a safe trip home,...and, if you're already home, hope the trip was nice and smooth. Looking forward to your next Edinburgh video,...my dream home, and where my heart always is,...and wish you both all my best!

    • @simonmountney
      @simonmountney Год назад +1

      Heya, regrettably I don't think I bought anything there that time. I've been reading a bit of everything since I was a kid. I stopped reading marvel/dc when it became too hard to keep up with the constantly expanding narrative across multiple comic arcs so I mostly read one offs, books, or manga these days. Currently enjoying The Incal, Calvin and Hobbes, and I'm about to start on One Piece soon

    • @Scorpion6174
      @Scorpion6174 Год назад

      @@simonmountney I understand. DC and Marvel can definitely get a bit convoluted. I find a lot of younger people,...well, people younger than me,...are gravitating toward Manga. I'm 48, so I'm kinda set in my reading habits. Although, there is a Maga from the 1980s called "Mai" that I want to get my hands on. I recently saw some of the interior art, and, as an artist myself, I really liked what was inside. Anyway, thanks for sharing, and all my best to you and Mrs. Simon,...AKA The Kakibot. :o)

    Congrats on your wedding, guys! I'm so happy for you! Oh, and thanks for taking me with you to... Boston... 😆 I loved it a lot! It was a great tour! Lol... Btw, The TATTE bakery its name is derived from the word LATTE... But it's also a smart pun of the Yiddish word TATE (pronounced exectly the same) and its meaning is FATHER... ❤ !!!
    Once again, maybe I'm all wrong here, but since the owner is an Israeli... I think I might have come up with something here! Haha...

    • @Kakibot
      @Kakibot  Год назад

      Ooooh that's interesting! I wouldn't have guessed there was an Israeli origin behind the bakeries, although now it's starting to make a lot of sense - for example their house latte being a honey halva one!

    • @beautybug1831
      @beautybug1831 Год назад

      @@Kakibot Yeah, def! Even though halva is not an Israeli candy/sweet. It's more of a Mediterranean thing, to be honest! The Israeli halva differs slightly from other types of halva in that it is usually made out of sesame or peanuts. Whereas the Pakistani/Iranian/Iraqi/Indian are made of semolina, soybean oil & some honey or any other sweetener syrup.
      Other ingredients used to make halve: Sunflower halva (Russia & surroundings), Goat cheese halva (Lebanon & Greece), Cornflour halva (Saudi Arabia), Flour halva, instead of using semolina (Bulgaria, Iraq & Iran)
      I have to admit! I've tried some of these less known halva types, since halva is my thing... D-U-H... 🤣 But since my palate is so used to certain tastes & textures, the other halvas felt kinda... Weird! Like they're not the real deal, even though it's clearly not the case... 😟 But, personally, the sesame halva is still my favorite!
      Btw, Turkish halva is also made of sesame, even though the texture is a bit different from the Israeli one. But still very tasty, in my opinion... 😋
      🚨🚨🚨 Sorry about my #HalvaStories, but as you've probably guessed, halva is one of my most favorite candies (When I'm finally eating something sweet. I'm usually more of a savory kinda girl... Lol...) Anyhow, sending you many
      M-A-N-Y blessings & best wishes, and hope your honeymoon was amazing as it looked... 💝💝💝 !!!

      One thing I think Edinburgh is five times better at than Boston is the people! Bostonians are quite grumpy haha. Edinburgh people have to power through the wind and rain and darkness and still manage to be so friendly!

    • @petermalin2675
      @petermalin2675 8 месяцев назад

      Bostonians are not surface friendly, but are certainly not unfriendly. Also, Boston winters and early spring are windy, rainy, sleety, snowy raw and at times frigid which need to powered through as well, probably more so than Edinburgh. Summer and fall are usually nice.

    Loved your video!...You both are so open and adventurous! I always think it's best for Europeans..even the British...to visit the Northeast and New England..or coastal California for a first time visit in the U.S. Those areas ARE the U.S. to most of the rest of the world. I long to visit the UK, but I doubt my first impression would be coastal Cornwall..it would probably be London. I love London, but seeing London is not seeing the UK. Seeing the coastal regions of the U.S. are not seeing the U.S.A. Whatever your initial impression of the U.S. is..positive or negative, realize that it may change rapidly upon where you visit.
