    I much prefer these specialised cleaning videos. The water spot remover on the badges/emblems video was great too, I use that on every car i detail now. Some good suggestions for products to review....firstly Rimmats - I got mine the other day and I think they are great, there are many benefits to them (stops dirt from the floor getting on brushes & applicators, allows you to clean/dress all way around the wheel without moving the car, works as a hose guide to stop snagging under wheels etc) . And secondly Kamikaze No.5 anti aging cleanser (I know it sounds like a beauty product lol), it's apparently the only product out there that can remove ALL coatings including ceramic, brilliant if you want to change or refresh your coating without the need to polish. Something that every detailer should have in their arsenal

    • @epicautomotivedetailing
      @epicautomotivedetailing  Год назад

      thanks for the comment. Always love the feedback. As for Rimmats i actually have a better alternative that I use and its 2 vented floor tiles. I feel you have to roll the car back to get fully around the wheel the wheel so it would be a faff for me

    • @ItsMeYourRealDad
      @ItsMeYourRealDad Год назад +1

      @@epicautomotivedetailing the Rimmats have ridges that raise the wheel up allowing you to clean the full face of the tyre. That's one of the reasons I got them to save you having to move the car back and forth. You do eventually move the car off the mats when the job is finished so you could check if you've missed anything then but so far it looks like they're able to give you full access for cleaning and dressing.

      @@ItsMeYourRealDad I may test them soon in the winter perhaps, detailing has gone very quiet at the moment even on RUclips but come sept / October I may buy some

    • @ItsMeYourRealDad
      @ItsMeYourRealDad Год назад

      @@epicautomotivedetailing I thought the detailing scene had gone quiet too, must be the weather lol. Yes I know the rimmats aren't the cheapest at 50 quid but I think it's worth it in the long run. When I first started "proper" detailing I heard a tip saying use 4 pieces of 6x2 timber with a ramp cut out on one side so you can drive onto them leaving the face of the tyre overhanging and easy to clean/dress. So I've been using wood chocks up until recently, and although they were relatively cheap and easy to make, it definitely looks more professional now using the Rimmats

    I use bar soap, or hand gel soap, into a microfibre with warm water, make a decent foam with it, slather it on the wheel and leave it for 2-3 minutes, wipe off a couple of times and then repeat if I need to. Works a treat every time. Leather is skin at the end of the day so whatever cleans my hands would clean a steering wheel.

    My MK2 TT is exactly the same it actually looks like a shiny plastic wheel 😂 mine has no buttons either so it is a positive cleaning wise. Is your TT a TT FSI petrol model? If so have you remapped it? I had mine done a month ago and it honestly transformed it, now it goes as well as it looks👍👍 I'm going doing my wheel now, thanks for your video 👍👍👍
