Huh that’s interesting, usually I would think for anxiety and stuff you would want to focus inwardly to focus breathing and slow yourself down, but this is a very interesting reverse, I’ll be sure to share this one for sure.

I most definitely could tell the differnce, but I was too busy concentrating on both simultaniously due to my ADHD. But it did work.

What the hell…the more I think about it, the more it makes sense, yet I was blind to it all the time, thanks David for opening my eyes to this

Wow, yeah, I have felt that before. That's why I enjoy yard work so much.
In the first minute I might still get caught up in my own thoughts, but after the work gets harder I get out of my head space and focus on the chore and I can let go of some stuff.
    Thanks!

Interesting! I've started trying to pick up on other people's body language, eye colour, just little things and it's really helped take my mind off anxiety. It's also confirmed, as I get better at reading body language, that other people are also anxious which also helps. Seeing most people go about their lives you'd never guess, just like no one is noticing you being anxious even when you feel like everyone is looking at you.

I watched this video a few days ago, and today I was having trouble with obsessive thoughts and anxiety. For some reason, this came to my mind and I decided to try it. You have no idea the world of difference it made to me. I usually struggle immensely with getting out of my own head, and end up dissociating for hours on end. But this skill brought me back to the present moment and reality. I am always so grateful when I can add new coping skills to my list, because I've struggled with finding ones that actually work for me for so long. I can't wait to share this news with my therapist, and share this video as well! Thank you for making someone who's been working so hard to better their mental health's life just that much easier ♥️ All the love and best wishes to you, towel gang for life

Seriously his videos have helped me so much, however I had to do the exercise twice because the first time I was like, "hey!, he has beautiful eyes" when I did the exercise again I came to realising that I tend to focus to much on the person I'm talking to and with that I tend to be to awere of the person I'm talking to getting anxiety because I somehow feel that one of us is going to do or say something that will result in ruining the possibility of a friendship or any other relationship. Seriously his video to me are like usual tips to how feel less anxiety and get more self confidence convinced with small 'eureka' moments of self discovering, he is amazing.

I experience severe depression and anxiety and do use this technique to help me during anxiety provoking situations or whenever i just need help grounding myself. It can really be a very useful tool to keep in your back pocket.

Maybe that is why I look around people watch when in a large social space. It takes attention out of the fact that I am in a bigger space with many people and my focus is their reactions.

    Hello David,
Please do one reaction video on Tom Hiddleston. He speaks in a very enchanting manner.
You can do a public speaking celebrity series..one more eg i think can be Tom Cruise.
Even stand up comedians and storytellers.
P.S. saw your ted speech several times. one of the best. never discovered until a week ago that you have this amzing youtube channel too. Thanks.

For me what makes a big difference instead when I feel anxious in a social situation with a lot of people is to focus on regulating my breathing, and to keep breathing regularly no matter what is happening.
