The "wild" driving might be explained by the fact that the black Audi wasn't made for these kind of tracks. It does'nt have the same traction setup as the following car, wich you can see is a lot lower. The turbo boost also comes very fast and sudden at a particular rpm in the black one, making it hard to control when it kicks in.

The silver & red car is an audi 90 which is basically the saloon version of the audi s2 which had the same engine as the original quattro and s1. So not surprised it can keep up
S2 was offered as limo, 90 is naturally aspirated.
And to say the standard S2/4/6 2,2T is the same a Sport Quattro engine, not quite. Familiar yes, but not the same. Here is a mechanical header.
You could get S2 saloons in Europe BUT they were all B4, that 90 looks like a B3 rear end so more than likely a converted B3 90q with a B4 front, I would love to find out more about it but I haven’t been able to…..yet!

If my memory does not let me down, Dahlbäck made this car out of a more common Audi Quattro, having the Sport Quattro as an inspiration. I think he used most engine parts from a 90's Audi (maybe S2 or S4).
No he did a newer one with a "rougher" engine alike aftermarket tuning.
i was at a autocross. and i saw the dahlback audi a6 avant going the other way on the road. i had to go somewhere that day. if i had not.. i would have followed them to whateverr they were doing in va.

looks like a handful to drive... go into a corner = understeer like a boat, apply power = oversteer like a bendy bus
If I remember right this is a shortened one. So prolly a nice blend of audi 90 and coupe quattro. Check (under the tank lid) for welding marks.

This is actually a shortened chassis from Audi back in the 80s. Not a replica from newer times.
@@80sAudiSport, yes. Windscreen is a bit different in coupe quattro (typ85) than in Audi 90 B2 (typ81 / typ85), thats why I did guess it is a blend of these cars.

ps3 . i have a rs4 wagon quattro. tuned pretty good.. handles really well.. goes like hell too. many cars cant touch it.

if its Dahlbäck own SQ, It is the real ting.... i live next door to his workshop and he own 1 of the black SQ it has been in tons of magazines and on TV
What a sound, although the suspension on the Black Audi could do with the magnetic suspension from a tt.
I wonder if this not ran with gravel suspension.

This guy has imense talent but id love to see a hot lap without all the sliding about. I know it looks amazing but is slowing that beast up...
+Steve Lidster It's pretty difficult to find any footage of an SQ not sliding since it's what they were designed to do haha
Also I think this had a less-ideal suspension variant for it (gravel?).
understeer, then oversteer, then understeer, then understeer. Seems like a tricky car to drive on the limit.

@michka1992 Well the R8 V10 sounds a little bit like a 5 pot so I would go with it since it really seems to be an awesome driving machine.

Yes. All Audi 5 cylinders are inline.
Some VW produkcts have the 2.3 V5, sort of "VR5" configuration.
@GeneralAMSEL79 if your not in europe your in luck to get the 2.5 or 5 cyl VW jetta or rabbit with the same engine acoustics :) just take the res off ;)

Generally, you had the Sport Quattro as homologation roadcar + motorsport cars (rallye Sport Quattro).
The S1 was an evolution special from the rallye Sport Quattro, so motorsport cars only.

nice audi!! but i cant help thinking that if he was to stiffen things up a tad it would be so much easier to drive it would certainly help with the wild over steer dont think ive ever seen anyone trying to drive any car with such a soft setup!!!! lol!!!
