Forget the s5 that Audi 90 is one of the nastiest cars I've ever seen. Those rims are so sick and the sound of that b5 engine sounds like a jet engine. The wide body kit makes it look perfect.
TheS1PikesPeak I literally love Audi and Volkswagen. The cars from the 90's. Like a MKIII Golf GTi, 95 A/S4 Audi Quattro, Audi S2 and the Audi S3. I've only seen just a couple S2 and S3 Audi's really done nice. The VR6 Super Carrado, VR6 Jetta GLX, and one of my favorite cars ever, a MKIII GTi VR6 bi-turbo with the Audi A/S4 sequential AWD with the color coded trim. Dahlbach racing has a 1000hp+ GTi, lookup the Red Devil MKIII GTi, the thing destroys Lambos, Porsches, Ferraris, BMW. Just the way the rims fit and the perfect size flare on the fenders. Stock, they have the meanest stance. I'm really not the biggest fan of the new Audi and BMW with the concave rims with no deep dish lip. VDubs and Audi look perfect with deep dish rims like the 3 piece BBS rims or the MAE rims.
stop it stop it, im getting such a big smile just from that engine sound, that amazing. Just watched the "roll-out" for 2 times. Love the car. One of the greatest cars Audi manufactured yet.
One of my favorites in Project CARS, along with the Gumpert Apollo S, Sauber Mercedes C9, Mercedes CLK-LM and Bentley EXP Speed 8. I feel unbeatable and like a winner while speeding down Hundaudieres straight and overtaking everyone at Circuit de La Sarthe.
@QuattroStig Competition models had air recirculating system on turbos,so that when changing gears or when the rpm's lowered, the turbo would keep spinning and would create boost.
@QuattroStig I think it is a blow-off. That way you can keep the compressor wheel spinning even if the intake flap is closed. Makes for much better reaction times and at boost-level like here, you don't destroy your turbo...
@2175Wook I'm sorry, I don´t know. The acceleration was dependent on the gear ratios. I am thinking 0-200 km/h shortly under 10 seconds. A Quattro 200 with the same engine but with only 625 hp (lower turbopressure), reached 1982 in Nardo a top speed of more than 400 km/h. And stopping distances vary according to temperature of the tires and the road pavement, the asphalt composition, the weight of the vehicle (full tank, empty tank) and the tire compound.
Give me a chair and few icy beers and I could happily sit and watch this car go past all day...love the way the safety car kept getting further behind-and it wasn't exactly slow
@Lightfromsirius Yeah that's right 720hp from I think only a 2.1 litre, incredible output. Do you happen to know what 0-100kph (0-62mph) time this car would do and what it's top speed is?
thats what people want from races thats what stuck you on the tv and make you go and watch a race.raw power!!!!we dont want fine chassis and alien tech diffs we want raw power and sound thats what makes me shiver on thrill.good all times that i havent experienced cause im 24 :(
Those Cars run in a Demo Spec. There are only 1.2 up to 1.5 BAR Boost. In Racing Spec this car would act completely different. Its really getting Berserk with full Boost.
Dunno wot I'm talking about really. I do remember some cars somewhere hit some guys who then didn't get up and go home. Just wanted to brag about owning an Audi turbo. Thanks for putting me straight. Cheers.
The RS5 does not sound ridiculous, it sounds monstrous, N/A V8, The IMSA GTA on the other hand is light , sporty & sounds fast & light. Now I like both of them & it vrery difficult choose only one of them cause they are both Audis
@Lightfromsirius Is 1206kg without fuel and driver. Do you also happen to know how fast it is past 100km/h, for example 0-160km/h and 0-200km/h times and standing 400m (standing 1/4 mile).
@Draumsyn Preferrably inside one of the road legal Group B rally cars. That's where this engine first made a lasting impression on the public. Heck, it transformed Audi into cars desired by the youth rather than retired old men.
I know that the transmission on a 5 cylinder audi will mate to a jetta 1.8T engine so you could probably just swap the transmission drivetrain and hook up to your 1.8T, if you have that model engine.
@MichaelTheSilageMan they were already testing a successor a midengine Rally car but the end of Group B stoped it.. today it is on display at the Audi museum. Group B was becomeing to special they needed to build a cor only for that series to be competetive again
@heresmycomment Thats not a blow off valve, its the air hitting the closed throttle valve, and bounces back and hits the turbo. So called turbo flutter / chatter
I love how every motorsport Audi competes in they either get banned or the regulations are changed to screw them over just because Quattro is so damn good. The engineers at this company are pure geniuses and always find a way to make unusual be the best. Whether it be all wheel drive, which was considered weird in its early years, or today's R10 TDI (which we wont see next year, thanks to le mans changing the regulations yet again)
Forget the s5 that Audi 90 is one of the nastiest cars I've ever seen. Those rims are so sick and the sound of that b5 engine sounds like a jet engine. The wide body kit makes it look perfect.
All those Cars from this era are sick as Hell
Audi 90 IMSA GTO
Audi 200 Trans Am
Audi V8 DTM
Audi S1
and the Holy Shit Thing: Audi S1 Pikes Peak
TheS1PikesPeak I literally love Audi and Volkswagen. The cars from the 90's. Like a MKIII Golf GTi, 95 A/S4 Audi Quattro, Audi S2 and the Audi S3. If you like to mastubate, Project cars has a great copy of this one.
FockYouMang So true, its one of the most beautiful cars in the world
90 IMSA GTO is my absolute favourite in Project Cars 2 right now :)
Hell lot of fun to drive.
stop it stop it, im getting such a big smile just from that engine sound, that amazing. Just watched the "roll-out" for 2 times. Love the car. One of the greatest cars Audi manufactured yet.
😅😆🤣
Those wheels are bbs turbo fans, they actually have an out fan design that sucks in air and cools the brakes. They are a work of art.
THAT SOUND at 3:45 unreal, gives me goose bumps
+Sam Kandray
@@reporterschreibikus1844neu RS3
The sound of that engine is brutal.
man i love that old school audi with the widebody my favorite
One of my favorites in Project CARS, along with the Gumpert Apollo S, Sauber Mercedes C9, Mercedes CLK-LM and Bentley EXP Speed 8. I feel unbeatable and like a winner while speeding down Hundaudieres straight and overtaking everyone at Circuit de La Sarthe.
that thing has a seriously sick cam profile :D
PURE GEWALT!
Süss ist der Standart Anlasser.
5-Zylinder FÜR IMMER.
Gruss von einem der grössten Fans überhaput.
That is one of the greatest sounds of a car that i've ever heard.
@QuattroStig Competition models had air recirculating system on turbos,so that when changing gears or when the rpm's lowered, the turbo would keep spinning and would create boost.
One of the all time greatest road racing cars.
Audi has lost its way since then, those old 20v 5 pots were pretty awesome.
whaen was this?!?! u lucky bastard i would have payed anything to have seen that. The most incredible sound in the world
love the 90 have one my self im in the process of rebuldung never getting rid of it its such a clasic
Damn that Audi S5 sound so good!
Quattro Power!
thank you so much for thid footage
The V8 chasing it sounds nice, but the 5 pot is well worth the wait. Great vid, thank you.
Ich War dabei😎Ingolstadt
the audi turbo-5 sounds sweet! But daamn, the S5 sounds freakin' amazing too!
The L5 is what made Audi famous and this is why I love and drive an Audi.
@QuattroStig I think it is a blow-off. That way you can keep the compressor wheel spinning even if the intake flap is closed. Makes for much better reaction times and at boost-level like here, you don't destroy your turbo...
@TwinTurboSystem This is the Oldtimer Parade in Hamburg City Park. (That's in Germany)
the audi engine IS THE BEST SOUNDING ENGINE of all time :D
this car looks so badass
it is 2.1liter, and it is taken from the S1 (engine) , just increased the turbo boost.
@2175Wook
I'm sorry, I don´t know.

Still a gorgeous car 20 years on! I remember those things when they came to the here to the states and kicked ass!
INSANE !!!
wow, sound of that turbo is more soothing than milk
@2175Wook
Performance:
0-100 km/h 3,1 sec., Topspeed 310 km/h
Weight: empty 1206 kg
one of my favourite cars. its just pure violence.
The one behind the 90 is an RS5 (with the 4.2 V8).
@Lightfromsirius Yeah that's right 720hp from I think only a 2.1 litre, incredible output.
Do you happen to know what 0-100kph (0-62mph) time this car would do and what it's top speed is?
For sure. The RS5 is a street legal, comfortable vehicle. The 90 quattro here is a pure racing car...so no surprise about the difference in sound ;-)
looks like a full-size radio-controlled car... and I'm saying that as a compliment!
Watched them race at Road America...Always good competition between the Audi's - Nissan's (Paul Newman) - Mercury Cougars.
Right, this Car stands in Sinsheim Auto Technik Museum (Germany) and it´s a 2.1 Liter
There are two things a man needs in his life. One of them is a turbocharged Audi five cylinder car.
Hans Joachim Stuck... IMSA Audi 90 5zyl...! What else to tell you? Fantastic!
It's derived from the S1 engine. The S1 engine is 2.1l 10V while the IMSA engine is 2.2l 20V.
German engineer`s masterpiece.The RS5, too.
Hands down the sexiest race car ever built!!!
love the dished wheels on that thing - awesome.
Toll Toll Toll...ich liebe den IMSA Sound !!!
thats what people want from races thats what stuck you on the tv and make you go and watch a race.raw power!!!!we dont want fine chassis and alien tech diffs we want raw power and sound thats what makes me shiver on thrill.good all times that i havent experienced cause im 24 :(
The Audi 5 cylinder engine just sounds so000 goood!
What a beast of a car!
Good thing I have at least the Audi turbo five in my life. What was the other thing I need again?
may be fair to say that the valve overlap has effected the idling somewhat
Thanks for this car Simbin !
Those Cars run in a Demo Spec. There are only 1.2 up to 1.5 BAR Boost. In Racing Spec this car would act completely different. Its really getting Berserk with full Boost.
Are those rims just a one off or is there a way to get ahold of a pair?
iKebabHD i wouldn't be surprised if they're one of a kind.
Andres Lezcano BBS Airblades. I think it's to help cool the brakes or something.
+iKebabHD , why only a pair? Wouldn't you need two pair? haha.
You know what i mean man
Turbofans
Dunno wot I'm talking about really. I do remember some cars somewhere hit some guys who then didn't get up and go home. Just wanted to brag about owning an Audi turbo. Thanks for putting me straight. Cheers.
Yes it's in Hamburg!
The RS5 does not sound ridiculous, it sounds monstrous, N/A V8, The IMSA GTA on the other hand is light , sporty & sounds fast & light. Now I like both of them & it vrery difficult choose only one of them cause they are both Audis
oooh cool i love them boxed shap audis, there agressive looking, did they do a 5cyl in that?
@Lightfromsirius Is 1206kg without fuel and driver.
Do you also happen to know how fast it is past 100km/h, for example 0-160km/h and 0-200km/h times and standing 400m (standing 1/4 mile).
geez the sound of that thing!!!!
that dtm safety car was a rs5?
What were those Panteras doing parked there?
That car is... MAD!
geil
where n wat competition did that car race?
I miss the CRAZY of the 80's :D
How can i get my gs300 to sound similar to the audi 90 are the 200 trans
Bmw drivers love audi too.Cause theyre freaking one of the best cars everr...
Regards
Petrolhead(2.3 audi 90, m50 325i)
what was the purpose of this car? what championship did it race in
its...its... ITS BEAUTIFUL
@Draumsyn
Preferrably inside one of the road legal Group B rally cars. That's where this engine first made a lasting impression on the public. Heck, it transformed Audi into cars desired by the youth rather than retired old men.
I5 sound. Can't beat this engine's sound!
Can anyone tell me what type of Audi the second one behind the Imsa GTO is?? This one has also a brutal sound..
greetz
This is definitively the car of my dreams
Sound is amazing!
That thing sounds like a rotary at idle... :)
Sweet sound @ idle and even sweeter boosting!!!
Turbo cams lots of duration
5cyls in general sound great. A stock v70r volvo or an RS2 audi with a slightly louder exhaust will also sound brilliant. :)
Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo also sounds just as good 🤩
damn that audi pace car sounds nice at 3:10 an the race car is lookin sweet
Where was it?
I know that the transmission on a 5 cylinder audi will mate to a jetta 1.8T engine so you could probably just swap the transmission drivetrain and hook up to your 1.8T, if you have that model engine.
One of the best engine ever

Cold start....Wartburg engine :)
goddamn thats a nice audi...feel proud to own a c5
@heresmycomment Thats not a blow off valve, its the air hitting the closed throttle valve, and bounces back and hits the turbo. So called turbo flutter / chatter
Wow!.. what a Monster!!!
