Fun fact. Dakota and Denzel have been in touch ever since they starred together in Man on Fire. She is one of his daughter's best friends and they went to college together. This is one of the reasons they still have such good chemistry after 20 years.
Even just thinking about that scene at the end of Man on Fire when Dakota is let out of the kidnappers' car and screams when she sees Creasy Bear (Denzel) waiting for her at the top of the bridge, and then starts running towards him, makes me weep so hard. Their bond in that movie was uttely amazing, and that final scene, final embrace and final conversation between them, will always be some of the most emotional and touching movie scenes to me. Seeing them reunited in this Equilizer movie is just beyond description. 😊❤😊
You're looking at two of the greatest actors that will ever live. Dakota had these chops when she was 10, and Denzel has been a powerhouse in practically everything he's ever been in. I don't think people understand how much raw talent they share between them. Denzel must be so proud of her.
@@tigersunruss She's really blossomed into quite a woman, and her acting has only improved. I'm genuinely happy for her, I love that she's still making movies and it's so perfect that she gets to reunite with Denzel. And canonically, it really does make sense if this was a follow-up trilogy behind Man on Fire, I definitely believe someone as experienced as Creasy could have survived (he probably killed everyone in the car before they even got to their destination). And I definitely believe Pita would have been so inspired by what Creasy tried to do in wiping out crime and corruption that she'd be driven to become a government agent. It all just makes too much sense lol.
@@tigersunruss I mean unless they tell me otherwise, that's my canon lol. There's no way it wasn't mentioned, especially considering this is the first time Dakota and Denzel have worked together since that movie. When Dakota asked him “Why me?”, I was half expecting Denzel to respond; “Why not you?” The same way he did to Ashton Sanders in the gang apartment scene from Equalizer 2.
Brilliant story where everything from the past ties in. "Why me?" Well... if you've seen the prior Equalizer films and know your film history (hint: from 2004...) then you will understand why. I'm a grown dude and I cried at the end. There is still good in the world, people, not just in "reel" life, but in real life, too. Make it happen.
You are tying make believe to reality. Go out more and watch less of this Hollywood made up BS. Get a girlfriend a wife a friend. But stop trying to compare reality with a made up Hollywood story.
@@uzzy_787 I will not spoil all: she is the doughter of a certain couple which were very close to McCall in the first movie. There is a reveal scene at the end of this movie.
I well remember the original "Equalizer" T.V. series with Edward Woodward, one of the best series that I ever saw. Denzel Washington may do the original justice.
I have a headcanon that after the events of Man on Fire Dakota Fanning's character went into the agency to help people in similar situations that she went through but to mostly find out what happened to Denzel Washington's character after they traded hostage's. Come to find out Denzel Washington's character somehow survived and faked his death. However he kept tabs on her and then called her in for the events of Equalizer 3 and they have to pretend to not know each other for some reason.
i just finished this movie and the ending made me tear up. I didn't know she was Susan's daughter. that's why he did what he did for her this entire time. now her asking "why me" makes so much since. please make one last movie.
I enjoyed the movie. This reunion with Dakota Fanning is just superb, really enjoyed it. However, I found it just sad it wasn't Harry Gregson Williams who made the music scores. Although Zarvos did a good job with the music, it really gave another vibe, a more dramatic one which for me differs too much from the previous 2 movies.
You're correct. Edward Woodward is still by far the best Robert McCall because he brought to the screen, for the very first time, a hero with a dangerous past that proved a lethal combination. Some argue Man with No Name Clint Eastwood, but he never touched on who the character really was. My favorite scene with Edward has to be the airport. Fantastic.
Someone told me that they're going to make a fourth. With McCall helping Collins with a big CIA case. IDK whether that's true or not, but I'm excited for it , if they do!
Although in the film Man on Fire Creasy is dead, I always hope there will be Man on Fire 2 and reunite Creasy with the grown-up Lupita with a new story.
Hmmm, Reading over the comments people are happy to see these two together. I watched a couple clips and could not decide if the chemistry was good. I'll take all the positive comments are reason to keep watching......good things are in store. Have a great weekend everyone.
Dakota Fanning's character is the same character on 'Man on Fire' which is why she asks, 'Why me?' ... Remember, he faked his death to save that little girl so that's who she was, that special person he was training to protect all her life and did.
This movie had some good scenes but was still a huge letdown compared to the first 2. I'm surprised that the same dude did all 3 because the first 2 were great.
I remember her also in the war of the worlds. It seems to me there is a lot of potential in her in dramatic roles. The cold, invulnerable type of character doesn't fit her well.
When they make E4, they are going to need to explain why she shows up with three bags of his blood type, and gets him to his doctor before he can bleed out so he lives. He works for her now. . . .
How epic would have it have been when she said "Why me" it did a flashback to the two of them in "Man On Fire" implying that Creasy and McCall are the same person. Yes, I know Creasy dies at the end. Shut up. It still would have been awesome.
This has me perplexed--or at least seriously curious: This latest component of The Equalizer movie series doesn't seem to have been out that long & there are, hmm, what's the word to use? A crap-ton of clips of this movie up on RUclips. It's almost like you can see nearly half the movie, albeit fragmented, if you watch all the clips. Probably enough to get a fair idea of the focus/plot of the movie. I'm surprised the company that did this movie hasn't already started legally leaning on RUclips because of it....
Such a great movie! I was impressed with the second one and less impressed with the first. Equalizer apparently is like a fine wine, improving with time
A masterclass in building tension just by conversation. Both such good actors.
Look at our girl all grown up and reunited with the best actor on the planet....Denzel Washington
Didn't realize it was her when I saw the movie, but it makes it so awesome now that I knew it was her. They're sort of breaking the 5th wall
@madvillain9879 ya she's all grown up. It's cool because Denzel's daughter and her kinda grew up together Denzel said in an interview.
Making that much easier and cooler to work with again

Great to see Denzel and Dakota united in Equalizer 3. This scene bring back memories of my top favorites Man on fire.
“Let’s find out together.” Is my favorite response from him.
Denzel is SUCH a perfect actor. There’s not a FRAME in this scene where he’s overdoing or underselling. He just IS Robert Mccall.
“Creasy art is death, and he’s about to paint his masterpiece “
CLASSIC LINE !!!!!!!

Nice to know this film has a nod towards the TV show still. There was an Agent Collins in the 4th season of The Equalizer back in 1989
If only the could have brought in William Zabka for a side role or at least a cameo. Maybe if there is 4th one?
@@yakuza01 Maybe. I was thinking just and the episode 'Operation McCall' had McCall being shot in the back and injured. Another nod to the tv show....
Major respect to Dakota Fanning, who pulled off the incredibly difficult transition from child star to adult actor.
"Why me", for some reason reminds me when Miles asked the same question to McCall in Equalizer 2.
