RED Camera - Needs a suitcase to carry it around, also heavy. Can only record and take photos Huawei- Fits in your pocket, extremely light, you can do anything on it, even edit footage you just recorded
These video's are amazing! 10 minutes of enterntainment and education. LOVE IT! compared to other youtubers potato's video's actually cover lot's of things, and the video doesn't drag you thru 10 minutes of bullshit we've allready heard a thousand times.
I dont get the point first you say the P20 looks bad against the red because it looks to Colourful and then you say the iphone X looks better allthough it was way to colourful
iPhone’s post processing software works very well with HDR and it makes the colors nicer, but not too much as on the p20 Pro, but otherwise you can choose a flat profile with Filmic Pro and you will get those “gray RAW footage”
Parallax Peak in some countries, like vietnam, most girls want their selfies to be sharp, white, no acne, it's like a completely different face for their virtual life. That's what most chinese phone aim for, and what they sell mostly have a large megapixel of the front, dual camera at the back aim for portrait mode and all kind of crazy filter to make the photo sharper, over contrast

Parallax Peak Chinese phones aim for what's the best for customers, not the best in quality. You can see they copy the notch, face unlock, iPhone X gesture, most flagship features and package them in cheap, low quality way to make customers satisfied of their need. But put a really high price (except huawei and xiaomi mid range phone's price is acceptable), others like oppo and vivo put really high price while they still use micro usb, plastic design but invest big to advertisement to make people buy their phones. While huawei and xiaomi with cheaper price you get at least metal design, and a fancy usb C port

That's the same with all smartphones because they add a fuck load of post processing to their photos which they can't do with the videos so much, so the videos actually better resemble what smartphones are really capable of, which is extremely little.

I know the Red shoots raw, and the footage will look better after processing, but it certainly doesn't look better out of the box. I don't think it's fair to say the Huawei looks oversharpened either, since it IS 4k footage, and there's no halos or noise or anything. Why would you shoot 4k if you're not looking for sharpness? I know the Red is better (I'm not stupid!) but I'd prefer a lot of the Huawei footage if I didn't have the option of post processing. But this will almost always be the case anyway, when comparing preprocessed images, or video, to raw. What I mean is that in this video you seem to be excusing the lack of sharpness for the Red because it's shooting raw, and then slamming the Huawei because it's "oversharpened". That said, I always slap my friends up side the head whenever I find out they're not shooting raw..

If don't mistaken Red 4K use 13MP sensor with 404mm square size. Huawei P20 Pro use 40MP sensor with 223mm square size. Red has base ISO 800, whereas Huawei P20 Pro can use ISO up to 102400. Without use RAW and use only Auto can both camera shoot only with only one candle and the model is one meter from the candle, 45 degrees of front face? Which one is better?

Don't take it personally, I'm serious. Your videos, are top-notch, but the thumbnails look way too cheap. In my opinion this comparison is quite good but some scenes are not in the same conditions, for example the slow motion videos. At first you've got a different view and beside that, putting music to the video you filmed with Red is psycologically way impressive than without. So you can say 'manipulation', which makes the comparison implausible. Furthermore you didn't use all the options which the Huawei smartphone offers. Of course this test is not evaluated neutral, you're just the owner of this cinema cam. Would be totally devasting if a smartphone is nearly as good a an expensive cam....
Its always magical to see the image being darkened and having information in the over exposed zone. This is crazy, RED camera are not camera, those thing are just really fast burst image taking machine.
I se you use the vlock expander io with red bricks. I think redbricks dont fit very well with it. The vlock expander does not really lock the batteries all that great.

And if you need to stabilize it, just chage settings, you will get same quality camera as i phone or samsung. Just with double storage.

I suggest you to watch a video from trycicle tv, "P20 pro users says to iphone x users"
iPhone’s post processing software works very well with HDR and it makes the colors nicer, but not too much as on the p20 Pro, but otherwise you can choose a flat profile with Filmic Pro and you will get those “gray RAW footage”
