Thank you so much for this video - I started a new job at a facility that offloads railcars and sends the raw product through a sieve to purify before sending it out and they have a variety of Corken (mostly 451s). They've given me little training so far so good to see a video with some good knowledge! Do you deal with any Blackmer pumps?

Glad you found something useful here. When I worked at a bulk plant we used mostly Blackmer pumps. They are great pumps and easy to work on. They are not as easy to rebuild as Corken, but very solid units. They don't require as low temperature grease as Corken, but a low temp grease is best, in my opinion. Grease them just like a Corken and they should pump several million gallons trouble free if no cavitation.

@@mypropaneinsights6074 Thank you so much for the insight sir! I'm making some notes on your videos and going to have them to use while working. I'll definitely put to use the low temp grease as well as the winter/summer oil viscosity. Is there anything you wish you had known when you first started at the plant that later you found out / or some knowledge that came with time/experience?

@@charlesbrown1629 I wish I had known where to go to get the answers I needed and who I needed to talk to that actually wanted to help me. There is a saying that has a lot of truth to it, "Success has many fathers but failure is an orphan." When things are going smooth, people you buy from like talking to you, but when things at the terminal quit working, so do some peoples' phones. You never forget those who go out of their way to help you. The second thing is to always be your own advocate, speak up for yourself when necessary, and always, always, protect yourself. This includes PPE, but documentation is just as or possibly even more crucial. If it isn't written down, did it even happen? You can check out some of my office videos about this kind of protection if interested. Keep your head on a swivel and stay safe brother.

Corken models 691,791 as well as the 891's I have, all have an oil capacity of 6.6 liters. The model 491 needs 2.8 liters of oil.

@@rizjayrolagang6362 Yes, add the oil from the side using a chute or funnel to pour the oil in. If you ever need to replace the gasket just use a roll of rubberized cork material to make a new one.
