Beautiful car and I can tell the owner really loves the fox body Mustang. I had this exact same car 1985 and drove it from Los Angeles to Denver and back. It was awesome because it was owned by my retired US Army friend, and he used it while in Germany. So I was proud to have a Mustang that had been driven on the Autobahn.
Yes, Tom really has a love for Fox's in general and especially this one. Thanks so much for sharing that story, I'm sure that's a ride you'l never forget.
I was stationed in Hohenfels Germany in 91 and 92 in the Army and I had an 84 GT 5 speed with t-tops, burgundy with red interior, that I used to tear up the autobahn with haha. I left it over there which I now regret. I dont know what happened to it. 1st car I ever owned when I graduated high school 1985 Mustang GT... It was the fastest car on the road it was faster than 85 Corvette.. Got so many traffic tickets it took me till 1990 to clean my record
My first car was an 85 GT convertible. I've had it for about 10 years. It needs a lot of work to be legal on the road again, but i love the car anyway. I really want to put a more powerful engine into it along with swapping it over to a manual.
A very sweet 85 GT, love the 4 eyes, Really clean, nicely done car. Love the motor , and FYI not everone knows but not all 85 had carbs, I used to own a late model 85 GT that didn't have a carb it had everything along with the air cleaner that said 5.0 HO EFI, it had throttle body EFI instead of a carb, they were kind of rare. You have to love those 85/86 seats, I thinks they were the best made.
The 85 AOD 5.0 cars had the CFI 5.0 HO EFI engines. The early 1985 ones had a single muffler and a flat tappet cam. The later 1985 ones had the dual mufflers and a roller capable block.
Hey Paul, yeah I knew about the fuel injection on some of the cars, not nearly as good as the carb that year for power, but still neat. I gotta agree with you on the seats too.
Great interview and what a great car. They're becoming hard to find, but a beautiful ride and can't wait to see that paint perfected. All my foxes and sn95, dropped lariat truck, even my hummer ate black.... great interview skills again
