Nice review. I also love my X-T4:). Incredible hybrid camera and an absolute pleasure to use. I agree with everything you said. I also haven't had a problem with autofocus and i mostly use it for sports and action for both photo and video. Best settings I've found for fast action are either single point continuous or zone (particularly in low light or a less predictable subject e.g. birds in flight). For video, I find this setting to be effective: Tracking Sensitivity - 0 AF speed - +5 For photo, i found option 2 and 4 to be great (depending on the subject) and also a custom setting of: Tracking Sensitivity: 4 Speed Tracking Sensitivity: 2 ( i use this most of the time) Hope this is useful for anyone who wants to use the X-T4 for sports/action/wildlife:)
I'm really glad your video came up as a suggestion as I am a Fujifilm addict. I have developed an obsession with this brand since buying the X-T1. I have multiple models including the X-T4, which is a great camera. I follow quite a few professionals that use Fujifilm for their photography and I will be adding you to my list by subscribing. Really good video, well presented and enjoyable to watch. You may like to check Roman Fox for the review of the newer cameras X-T5 and X-H2 which he uses. Also Sean Tucker who did a video on exposing for the highlights using a Fujifilm camera.
Oh thanks so much for subscribing! I follow both of the channels you mentioned already but thank you for letting me know about them. I agree Fujifilm is a great brand and it’s hard not to like their cameras, so many features and they take great pictures.
Got the X-T5 when it came out. Just got the X-T4 as a B camera yesterday. Build quality is light years better than the xt5. Doesn’t have the new software downloaded so autofocus is better imo. Had it for one day and am thinking of selling my xt5.
What a good review of the X-T4 from someone who owns and uses the camera and not the usual reviewer that reviews every camera. I've been on the fence about buying an X-T4 and this has helped me in my decision a lot. I'm not a video person though and the screen on the X-T3/5 appeals to me more than the flippy screen. Can't make my mind up on that feature. As you say, the flippy screen turned closed does protect the monitor.
Thanks for your comprehensive review and insights. I switched from FF Nikon to Fujifilm X and GFX cameras. I own 2 x XT3's, XT4's and HX2's as will as the little XT20 and 3 x GFX's and haven't looked back. I love the XT4 and have used it for VOGUE, ELLE and GRAZIA magazine shoots and the output was wonderful. I particularly appreciate the firmware updates and the improvements in performance. Most of our videos were shot with Fujifilm.
Wow amazing! Your camera collection and work sound awesome 📷! How are you finding the XH2 and the GFX (been wanting to try both for ages)? By the way, are you Polish (going by the name) 🇵🇱?
I used a X-T2 and loved it. Now looking for the X-T4. I just love the design of the XT's and how they work. And the pictures are beautiful. There is nothing else quite like it. Thank you for this nice review, I really enjoyed it!
Olga- first video of yours that I've watched and I really appreciate the delivery. Every once in a while I "think" (this is what happens when I think) LOL, I want full frame but for me the XT-4 is great and this video brings me back to reality!! Fuji glass is a bit pricey for me so I tried Sigma and I'm VERY happy especially the 1.4 glass and the low light possibilities.. (16, 30 and 56) and have paid noticeably less! Ok, enough from me...! Thank you and I wish you much success. Look fwd to more of your vids!
Thanks for this review. With no other brand taking there apsc line models seriously, i am considering moving to Fuji. I’m perhaps one of that minority that prefers the trade offs of the 26 mp sensor over the 40 mp models, yet i want the d-pad as well.
It is interesting that you say you would not sell your camera in 2024. Apparently not many others are willing to sell theirs right now, at least in my area of the world, as evidenced by a lack of listings. Remember when the X-T5 came out not long ago and all the RUclipsrs thought the used market for the X-T4 would be bustling. It is not. And, look at all of the current (August '24) videos (like yours) discussing the present day merits of this camera, all knowing what is out there. A couple of testaments to the somewhat unique and dearly loved X-T4. Thanks for your actual and long term use video.
Good video. I don't have an XT4, but I'm edging towards buying one. Even if its technology is old hat by now. I personally like the flippy screen, so that's not an issue. It's the poor battery life on my XT3 that is going to be the deciding factor.
Great review just bought mine 2nd hand . Very happy up to now . The only thing a bit annoying is the back dial that I accidentally press when I just want to scroll . Otherwise excellent.
Hey, thank you for this review, I've just bought the xt4 in 2024, and it reassures me. Overall, I really loved your video, but is there a possibility to control the amount of ads ? I've just got more than 15 in around 15 minutes... I've never got that much. Other than that, I'll definitely be looking for your upcoming videos 😁
Thanks for your message and letting me know about the ads 😬. I'll have a look if there are any settings from my side that I can adjust but I think RUclips controls the way they appear 🤔.
Spot metering meters exposure in a narrow range whereas highlight-weighted meters exposure in multiple areas of the frame with emphasis on bright areas, giving a different mood to the image.
For ~£800, would the X-T4 be a good buy for a complete beginner? I’m prepared to spend that if it gets me a camera that will last a long, long time. Or would you say I should get something newer? Thanks!
@@olgadekell I ended up with the X-T4. I got one with like 2,500 shutter count and good condition for £880ish. I'll let you know how I get on with it. Your video helped in my decision, so thank you. :)
@@olgadekell I just upgraded from X-T2 to take advantage of IBIS and Battery life and better AF. My previous camera system was Pentax which I still miss. I've decided to give Fujifilm another chance and make it work.
Anyone else like me and still shooting on the Fujifilm X-T4 in 2024? 📸🙋🏻♀
Hoping to get one in 2024

Oh wow that’s interesting. I’m kind of hoping an x-t6 will come out and be similar to the x-t4 with the flip screen design.

Yes the screen choice is a tricky decision ⚖️ !
I gotta have the IBIS and I don't want the tilt screen, nor the 40mp sensor. So it is a no brainer for me!
this is the best review for the XT4...

Exposing for the highlights? Im not 100% sure what you mean, but i find that flicking it into spot metering pretty much does that for me.
