I've seen a lot of low-budget sci-fi movies and this is one of the best. The acting and special effects were excellent. The 'Devil Girl' was marvellous. They clearly ran out of money for the robot and had to fashion its arms out of flower-pots. My favourite line "While we're still alive, we might as well have a cup of tea".

Patricia Laffan had an important rol in the great movie "Quo Vadis" from 1951, she was Popea, Nero´s wife. Many thanks for sharing this very nice movie!
Without doubt one of the best sci-fi movies of the 50s! Even before the spectacular arrival an interesting story is beginning to unfold, and the film could have just continued as a man-on-the-run movie, but the ET theme cleverly raises the interest far above the initial drama. The craft is brilliantly designed with its stabilising gyroscopic ring, and its size is conveyed effectively when figures are seen on the access ramp. The final scene of the craft is astonishing considering the special effects available at the time. The key to enjoying this marvellous film is to disregard everything you now know about science fiction and view it as audiences at the time saw it. An outstanding film which deserved a better title.
This film is absolute gold . The script, the costumes and the robot ❤ and last but not least the colorised effects were awesome and with a touch of glow . ❤❤ .

For 1954 the special effects and even the design of the UFO is amazing. The storyline is not bad and even the woman playing the role of the devil woman is not only beautiful but plays the part good . The Transformer series is also done extremely well but the technology available these days is way different than what they had in '54. There is a pilot episode of Star Trek with Jeffrey Hunter and Susan Oliver called the cage. There are just short videos but I once saw the whole episode before it was deleted. Also well done and I think it's much better than any of the other Star Trek episodes except for Star Trek The Saturn Machine which had some encoded messages about the planet Saturn.
Same in the old sci-fi comics from the 50s, the craft always looked amazing along with all the different aliens, they certainly had great imaginations that's for sure.
Devil Girl from Mars aka "Darth Vader with Great Gams" Rifftrax did a number on this one a few years ago and worth checking out. About the only thing I have to say for the movie itself, apart from the gams, is the space ship she flies is the equivalent of a 1976 AMC Pacer, only less reliable.
Wow, I loved the movie. The professor spends the entire movie drinking with his people, and as soon as Albert is barbecued in the ship's explosion, the first thing everyone does is get drunk again. Possibly the next day all the staff won't even remember what happens the next night. This is the only advantage of alcoholic beverages. With the knowledge we currently have about Mars, we would become slaves to rocks, dust, sand dunes and ice. Think man had not even been to the moon. There were still 15 years left for the great feat. But it's fun to see what people's conception of that was at that time.

A Camp Cult Classic starring an imperious and statuesque Patricia Laffan as Martian space dominatrix ‘Nyah,’ dressed from head to toe in shiny black PVC, and with nylon clad legs that seemingly go on forever! ❤💋
In Sci-Fi films of the ‘40’s and ‘50’s alien invaders often had a robot helper along for the ride. In the best of its kind, “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” ‘Klaatu’ is accompanied by the imposing ‘Gort,’ who while recognisably a “man-in-a-suit,” is far more impressive than the laughably inept ‘Johnny(!),’ a fridge-on-legs, who accompanies Nyah. The script and supporting performances are just what you would expect from a film called “Devil Girl from Mars,” although the first appearance of Nyah at the 24min mark is very nicely done, and the interior of her ship with its impressively minimalistic lighting scheme is reminiscent of the saucer from TDtESS. But let’s face it, the only reason to watch this is to see Nyah swishing around in all her shiny black-clad glory, sneering, with the occasional Spock-like raised eyebrow, at the ignorantly primitive humans as she repeatedly threatens death and destruction for everyone in the room… all the while secretly wishing you could accompany her back to Mars! ❤🙂 I’ll admit to not being a fan of colourised films, and this effort does nothing to change my mind, however the original B&W version is here on YT for those who want to contrast and compare.
I liked this one, very good for the era. My vote is the Martian dominatrix WAS hot, something about strong women for me. Cool outfit, like Batman's, not sexy but kind of impressive . . Btw if she had come in peace and simply asked for volunteers she would have been successful. Ship was pretty good, beautiful sound but looked flimsy in flight. Weak, how Alan managed to sabotage such a ship so quickly! Poor Nyah, tricked yet again! I almost felt guilty for mankind that she proved so gullible. Another fine UK product from this era. Have any of you seen "X The Unknown"? Another good one, very innovative and scary.
Patricia Laffan! ❤❤❤ The rest is preposterous, but I would volunteer to go to space with the weird Devil Girl from Mars and have some weird Devil Girl fun!
I like how a Martian spaceship capable of traversing "the universe" spews FLAMES from its exhaust nozzles. And that the interior seems to contain absolutely zero amenities to support life, e.g., galley, sleeping quarters, toilet, supply room. It's just one big circular stage with mood lighting.
At some point early in the story, it's mentioned that the main lounge is the only heated room in the inn. Then, the balcony doors STAY OPEN FOR THE REST OF THE MOVIE.
One of those movies which are lesser known about, but is actually a rare sci-fi gem. Plot twist: What if the "explosion" was the hyper-drive for her spacecraft zooming off to warp speed, and she decided to spare them after all... 🤔
“From the play by John C. Mather and James Eastwood.” Viewing it as a play, that would explain why most of the action takes place in one room, and consists mainly of people dramatically emoting.
The Robot!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂. I made the same world robot when I was in the second grade with cardboard boxes from the supermarket, wrapped in aluminum foil and Christmas lights-

Does anyone else see a parallel between this film and "The Day the Earth Stood Still"? a single alien in glossy suit, a robot companion, [although this one is rather pathetic by comparison,] a "sensor wand" of similar construct, and the Power to destroy anything. Oh, and an inquisitive boy. . . too similar, really. Except for Patricia [by whom I would want to be abducted] "The Day the Earth Stood Still" has this one beat, imo. Still Nyah looks pretty good @ 24:55 and 37:00 . . .

I’ll admit to not being a fan of colourised films, and this effort does nothing to change my mind, however the original B&W version is here on YT for those who want to contrast and compare.
X hits the spot. Creepy good. 👍
She’s hot
Thank you friend.. It's really a good colorized movie. Hoping you always in good health and live happily... best regards for you 😍
Patricia Laffan! ❤❤❤ The rest is preposterous, but I would volunteer to go to space with the weird Devil Girl from Mars and have some weird Devil Girl fun!
Probably Nyah's costume designer created the miniskirt without intending to!!, this movie is great!
What would it have added to the movie to see the spaceship's sleeping quarters and kitchen?
Typical 50's alien spaceship interior.
What makes you think they the aliens need to go to the toilet? Surely it's only us humans that are full of shit.... 🤣
I grew up with B&W but color is nice on this one, good job!
At some point early in the story, it's mentioned that the main lounge is the only heated room in the inn. Then, the balcony doors STAY OPEN FOR THE REST OF THE MOVIE.
Good film
Tnks CCC
⛏️😱👊🔥
Estupenda película; no envejece y marca todo un estilo.
WOO
One of those movies which are lesser known about, but is actually a rare sci-fi gem.
Plot twist: What if the "explosion" was the hyper-drive for her spacecraft zooming off to warp speed, and she decided to spare them after all... 🤔
Not even a single moment of dullness.
A The female "Dark Vaider" and what amagnificent outfit well designed.
The Devil Girl sure beats little green men! 😊
Awesome movie 🎥🎥🎥🎥 good plot and story 💯💯💯💯 u don't see that today@ all!
I love Devil girl !
She wouldn't let you.

Yo la Vi primero 😅
Great movie, thanks for sharing!! 🙌 💥👍
“From the play by John C. Mather and James Eastwood.”
Viewing it as a play, that would explain why most of the action takes place in one room, and consists mainly of people dramatically emoting.
I just want to see some proof that it was ever actually presented as a play. I have my doubts.
@@MisterG2323 If not, it SHOULD be. At an SF Con, with the audience heckling and throwing rotten vegetables, or throwing up, whatever.
@@fredblonder7850 Hmm. That idea might have to become a project!
just gotta track down a copy of the script.
@@fredblonder7850 A Shakespearean actor like John Laurie would feel right at home!
I have a crush on that Mars woman!! ))))
Me too!🥰
I love a good documentary.
Many Thank yous CCC totally enjoyed.Your channel never fails to entertain.
@pfaffman100 Thank you!!!
Excellent show.
Beyond awesome movie 🎥👽👍👍👍👍👍
Low budget sci-fi opera of tosh, Patricia Laffan as the
sexy leather clad alien. She died in 2014 aged 94, what a dame.
Excellent
Really enjoyable
Hello everyone in CCC universe this is a fun syfy movie 🎬 so everyone get your popcorn 🍿 ready 😅...!
Love this movie!
This looks really great
My goodness her legs are fantastic...
Oooh, I have not seen this one. Thank you!
So great, RUclips evolves into a Treasure Box for Trashmovies and all for free - Awesome !!
Fantastic special effects especially the 🛸 saucer and the robots 🤖 laser weapon is spot on 🔫
The Robot!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂. I made the same world robot when I was in the second grade with cardboard boxes from the supermarket, wrapped in aluminum foil and Christmas lights-
John Laurie who plays Mr Jamieson played the Scottish character in Dad's Army!
Residents, "OMG, you can't enslave the human race, that would be terrible". Albert, "you want men, purely for breeding purposes you say...".
Come on... Patricia is really a Patrick 😅😅
Nice leg show for that era!
An interesting approach: the Martian is acting as a complement to the plot. Almost a love story, really.
She had such beautiful eyes.
24:56 Nice quality glasses
This is really wonderful for 1954. Maybe rocket boy Musk should watch the landing to see how it is done!
Yeah yeah yeah rock'n'roll cinéma.
Still Nyah looks pretty good @ 24:55 and 37:00 . . .
I believe the technical term is "rip off."
