The fatal flaw in this story is that it is very difficult for me to imagine any Earth man not wanting to be breeding stock for Patricia Laffan. Seriously?
RIP Patricia Laffan our first Darth Vader.
Thanks for this oldie.
Yep, she was a gem! If she came to take me to Mars I'd go!
I love these old movies. They are just so much fun. True escapism!
YES! And the "nostalgic" ( if you will 🥴 ) background mood music...
Awesome movie 🎬
Scotland never changes. It looks like that today. Thank you for posting this gem.
scotland never switched over to color
What,
black and white and covered in UFOs?
Studios look that way.
great sets
The "devil girl" seems like an angel to me. When Nyah stepped off her ship in that outfit, I was smitten. No one who dresses that well could be all bad!
Lol!
The costume depicted on the poster was even better.
This was completly unbelievable. I was able to suspend disbelief up until the point where the Scottish bartender said: "Drinks are on the house!"
Obviously under the influence of a Martian force reversing his natural proclivities.
hahahahahahahahaha
ahahahahahahahaha🤣😂🤣
Yes, I agree. Story line lost all chance of plausibility there.
Could use one
I hope they got received an Oscar for Patricia Laffen's costume. And wow, what legs!
Obviously George Lucas stole the costume to use for Darth Vader. Hazel Court is gorgeous. Couldn't take my eyes off of her. A great cult movie.
I made a black and white oainting of "The Devil Woman from Mars"
She sold quickly..Loved the pleather outfit..and head cap..Wow..the original 50s femenist
@@zorkwork3841 She had the same regal bearing when she played Poppaea to Peter Ustinov's Nero in "Quo Vadis".
I'm with you here... Patricia Laffen is my kind of girl... She was only 167 cm tall....
If a gal like her came in a flying saucer and said the men have to go with her to her planet I'd run to the ship to be the first in line. LOL
I'll stand in line for it.. LOL @@Joe-mz6dc
I love her leather costume and cape..🖤💥🔥
"Mrs. Jamieson this is Nyah. She's from Mars."
"Oh I suppose we'll need another bed."
I love these old B&W Sci fi flicks from the 50's.
"I'm counting the spoons!" What a great line.
My favourite recent(ly watched) movie line is from Vice Squad, a sleazy neon-soaked neo-noire from 1983;
- Undercover Policewoman points a gun at a pimps face and says "Go ahead and blink, and you'll die in the dark!" '@_@' 👌😸
"Oh, that'll mean another bed"
She gets all the best lines
Best line ever! @@chriskennedy7534
Oliver Twist shout out.
For 1954 the saucer landing sequence was impressive.
The golden age of sci-fi. These "B" movies were the beginning of the movie magic of today. Lots of trial and error with the effects. 👽👽
It is wonderfull how these pieces of celuloid became the best humor pieces of movie history
"I will show you wonders you have never seen before" The kid is like, "awesome!"
Ah, the black leather clad Devil Girl Nyah and her walking refrigerator robot, with ray guns and cheesy flying saucer effects. A fairly fun popcorn B-movie. Patricia Laffan was spectacular in QUO VADIS (MGM, 1951) in lavish Technicolor, as Nero's wicked Empress Poppaea, but in this one, she chews up the scenery as well as Joan Crawford.
I love British Budget films…but….now and them you find an A+ budget film like this one…Patricia Laffan skillfully made a terrific performance of what could have been an unserious story. The special effects were pretty good for that time…and…the supporting cast were excellent too…a real gem! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏I loved Johnny the robot..like…the one in Captain Proton 😄😊 Thanks for finding and sharing with us 😉👍👍
Actually spelled Chani (I grew up on Starlog magazine!).
“Come little boy I will show you wonders you have never seen before”. Flipping heck, I’d have gone with her in a shot.
Despite its outrgeousness, everyone manages to pull this off by their sheer enthusiasm and sincerity. That's the great thing about these so-called 'cheesy' '50s sci-fi flicks -- you feel that the characters believe it and they make you believe it too, no matter how far out it is.
It's pretty much like a Theater Play. (Which I do enjoy). After all, movies inherited the spotlight of public entertainment from the theater. This flick would appeal to people then, and they would not have the same criticism as today's viewers. Kudos to the players.
....but that cornflake packet robot.
This is what makes me respect the work artists do in Sci Fi films to this day.
No they don't. This is just a soft porn movie.
@@ms-jl6dl "Porn"? Ya gotta be kiddin'.
"Come, I will show you wonders you have never seen before" Yes m'am! I'm comming!
Scoot over lady, I'll drive!
Hell yes I would've went with her also and if she could come BK I would go with her today for sure
how lovely, I can watch it and watch again and again. Patricia Laffan. how I love her.
I love these old sci Fi movies
The best Dominatrix in this movie isn't the Devil girl ...it's Mrs Jamieson ..I'm sure she had boots in her wardrobe.
And an SS tattoo under her left arm.
Pienso igual !!!! Está muy buena la Marciana !!!!
Always beware of the nerdy quiet ones.
I love these campy movies from the 50's❤
In old films, whenever someone gets hurt, the remedy is alcohol. "Quick, get him a drink!"
Ahhh, to have lived then.
Always seemed to be the go to plan
Albert needs a huge drink
Nowadays it's "Quick - the antidepressants!"
I love how in the book Dracula, they'll be like "She's lost a lot of blood-- Quick, get her some brandy!"
The robot looks like an old refrigerator. I love it!
Devil Girl still gave a commanding performance even without the use of her whip.
I'd still prefer Hazel Court or Adrienne Corri.
The headgear she wore was defiantly Germanic. She was so hot she could fit into a rave today! My opinion of course! I STILL WOULD LIKE TO GET HER NAME!
@@chrisebbesen5798 Germanic, perhaps. But facially, she's more a Dane or Nordic woman. In reality Patricia Laffan was part Irish, but then many Irish are of Danish descent. So hot she could abduct me w/o use of weapons in quick time.
Outstanding!
Flying Saucers were sure noisy back then. But I guess that's the nature of those early anti-matter inverse fusion drives.
any shade tree mechanic could tell them they needed a flux capacitor.
The aliens didn't consider it an issue as sound didn't carry in empty space. They didn't figure on air being such a good medium.
I believe they finally learned how to mk them stealth now a days. Lol
Also the martian's was prettier bk then they got old an ugly now
Man! Those legs go all the way up. Let’s go play spaceship !
A solid 10 all the way !
She was the inspiration for Darth Vader.
The devil girls outfit caused...stirrings. 😳
hairs kinda flat, but i get it
Yeah 👍
That's funny
Lmaooooo 😂❤
I bet Bruce Wayne has a 'recreational' copy of this movie, back at the mansion.... 26:20
I couldnt help dying from laughter at the robot. the shuffle.
Well, at least we know that they hired the handicapped.
Closer to "Bus Stop" than your typical science fiction movie. Beautifully photographed. Much, much more walking back and forth between spaceship and inn than strictly necessary. Something about the instability of "organic metal" should have been worked into the ending. Really nice explosion at the end.
I think a lot of the walking back and forth can be attributed to the fact that this is based on a play. And I agree that the organic metal instability would have been better.
@@JustWasted3HoursHere hmmm yeah, neat idea. trying to figure out Martian tech is a neat idea.
Space aliens are still a grift!!
Best movie I've seen in 50 yrs of monitoring!
it doesnt get any better than this
Grew up in the 50s & 60s living on SciFi and thought I'd seen them all...but missed this one. A little Day the Earth Stood Still with 1/10 the budget. Bizarre dialogue but interesting "future science" ideas. Epic cornball throughout ... I liked it!
This movie was better than any junk in Hollywood the last 40 years
'Oh, well that will mean another bed.' Damn Martians never make reservations.
I love the innocence of such films like this. Makes me smile every time some old sci fi movie is aired. Two things I fail to understand. (1). Why did not the men just go with her for a fun time? (2). Why did not sexy legs bring other girls with her?
Great Movie. Great Cast. Devil Girl was very well played. Enchantress as well as Ruthless.
A me sembra paziente e ingenua.
I love these oldies
Great to see Private Fraser again. Obviously..."we're doomed".
Don't let that robot chase you - you'd have NO chance! Loved it.
I first saw Patricia Laffan in Quo Vadis and I was (and still am) captivated by her lynx-like beauty 😍
Usually when the aliens come down they probe but this time they sent a dominatrix 😊
Poor ol' Devil Girl, thwarted in the end. She was just trying to collect Earth's men as breeding stock. Let her do her work.
Don't know what all the guys were so worried about. I'd have definitely been up for breeding with her!
That was quite an impressive explosion.
I didn't want it to end
In the end, it turned out that the Martian's reactor safety system was programmed by Microsoft.
Absolutely brilliant ... thankyou very much ...
The ship was fantastic . Of the period in every respect . Patricias outfit , just wow . 👍😉😚😁
Robot was terrifying 🙃😜🤗
Patricia's outfit? Over analised it, with respect cooper, go no further than Patricia 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
We need more devil girls
The alien lady performed well. I enjoyed her part.
In the 1950s they actually made hundreds or maybe a thousand of of science fiction movies. Giant ants, giant insect creatures, monsters, people on other planets, destructive kids with supernatural powers, giant robots, etc.
And everything destroyed Japan.I remember a TV critic saying Tonight the Umpteenth monster will destroy Japan for the umpteenth time...........
I consider the 1950s the peak of Hollywood.
@@user-iv5gy3rc2b I'd vote 1970s / 1980s myself,
but I suppose _someone_ should represent for the '50s 👍
(I might go 1950s for *British* films)
That's why Japan has closed Borders. How many Godzillas / Mothras does it take to wake up ?@@donnienicholson6062
There could’ve been a sequel. Stud farm on Mars!
Great! The music is fabulous, and the combination of the big orchestra and the cardboard robot is inspired.
The space ship, standing still on the ground, looks like a condo in Miami.
Always enjoy seeing Private Frazier's Adventures.
Thought it was him, was waiting for the credits to confirm I wasn't just being racist 😂

She is out of this world!
Sadly. We need more like her (minus the villainy).
I wasn't expecting much, but actually enjoyed the movie. Wish I could have watched it in 1959 when I was 5 years old.
it would have Keenan 'A' movie, and not available to boys.(or girls )
You were born right in the middle of the 55/56 and 57 Chevrolet Bel Air my favorites
Nyah, completely and utterly seems like Darth Vader 😮
I never knew Martians had such great legs, but I reckon she'd be a very domineering Misses!
Great movie, very enjoyable. May I say more enjoyable than half (or more) of the 21st century movie available today.
Oh those legs.
Legs are always more magical when a confident woman knows how to show them.
I used to live in West Virginia...we were always being kidnapped by UFOs for breeding stock but they just put us back - none of us made the grade.
Crazy crazy
NOT ONLY IN USA are sightings
At least the aliens perfected their anal probe technology.
As a son of West Virginia, I can attest to the truth of this statement :)
This comment was better than the movie!
Me gusta las peliculas de ciencia ficcion , y tambien las antiguas , porque veo el esfuerzo de los efectos especiales , que son buenos para la epoca
If all the woman from Mars or other planets look like Devil Girl let's invite some more to Earth!
Yeah, these old sci-fi flicks weren't into costumes, makeup, or even spacesuits. I saw one where Earth guys went to Mars and were walking around in coveralls, black military boots, and carrying rifles.
Had to be set in GB. Where else could you float a story of men lining up to die to avoid having sex with a race of hot women?
I prefer the Orion slave girls from Star Trek (they need to be freed, of course!)
@@componenxactually the green slave girls in Star Trek they were the Masters😮 their men were the slaves and they were slave traders, the green women had a hypnotic affect on them the men had to do their bidding. It was explained on the TV series Enterprise, that's how I found out about it. 👽
This movie was 100% better than it had any right to be in 1954.
I would 100% go back to Mars with that woman.
Willingly 💕💕❤❤💖💖💋💋💥💥
Irresistible invite, you take your chances!
YEP
Me too.
ME TOO, Laffan is HOT !!!!!1
Wow, Adrienne Corri AND Hazel Court! Doesn't get much better than this. I don't think I've ever seen a spaceship make a noisier landing, though. 😂
and how!
I love these old movies
With a title like that I had to check this out.
Devil Girl kinda looks like Agnes Moorehead.
It's Patricia laffan .. you moron !!
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! 😀
I remember watching this back in the early 60's, loved it.
I've seen this several times.
Always enjoyable. 👍
Jocks buying drinks, Irish scientists, Scottish golfer pretending to be American, English kids saying "gee", I love it!
Must be one of Richard O'briens' favourite movies. They're all here.. Bead and Janet, Dr Scott, Frank, of course, RifRaf, magenta and even a sort of Rocky. Loved every minute! 👏👍
Robot seemed harmless and plodding until I saw it was huge and had the ability to disintegrate anything. I'm glad I was not yet born when this occurred.
Can fire only in the direction it's pointing. Can't turn easily. T.S. Lawrence would know what to do.
@@cdorman11 dark souls level "git gud" human scrub? :D
Magnificent! I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. PS The colorised version looks even better.
To each his own, I much prefer the black & white.
Wow, thanks Jim!😊
@@JS-fe8sx I would have preferred the black only, or the white only version. This was one of the awfullest (if that is a real superlative) films ever made.
Link?
Im going to watch the coloured version too to compare. But I usually like b/w rather than colorised.
Only two Things worth watc hing this movie : Patricia Laffan and her costume.
Her legs are another 2 reasons!
Great plot, great acting and realistic looking robot - Oscars on the way I think. Devil Girl outfits could set a new trend at parties
Her outfit were stylish 😄
@@BigBuzzyBumbleBee I'd love to see what you would have done in 1954. Fools like you thunk you know it all, but you've been spoiled and jaded by generations of people with actual imaginations greater than yours.
"Devil Girl" costumes actually were quite popular after the movie came out.
Grade B Movies, Absolutely Hilarious
@@wildcatherder Gotta say the design was great.
Oh dear. At about 4 1:13:49 0:00, I😅 remembered that I needed to recycle some cardboard boxes. The "evil" woman, just was, uh, "lonely". I can appreciate that. And she did bring her own spaceship and everything.

I'll volunteer to go to Mars and take care of those Martian babes if they're like Nyah. She didn't skip leg day
Yes! One of sci-fi's best robots! Chani looks like an out of control Frigidaire prototype.
I saw this a verrrry long time ago, and my friends and I all laughed at what a dismal attempt at robot design that thing was.
The only fridge to actually take itself outside to defrost.
