Regarding your question, your issue is not the ram MEMORY, the reason you can't upgrade is because of the internal storage memory, and that can't be upgraded, as i have explained in this video: ruclips.net/video/NuXb9AMscqQ/видео.html
the issue is that what you have is an tablet very basic motherboard that is used on tablets, there is not enough emmc storage to install bigger OS or upgrade.

It will fit, my friend. It is a DDR4 SDRAM. Insert it at a 45-degree angle and apply some force to push it into the slot. Then,push down to the motherboard.
Make sure the RAM cut matches the RAM DIMM cut.
it is the correct RAM.
Hey man, I have an HP stream 14-cb174wm and I checked the max ram capacity with the cmd prompt and it says it can take up to 16gb, so I got one and ran into a black screen.
In the video you say it can take up to 16gb but reading through the comments I saw you say that on single dim it can only take 8gb (but for the model on the video), is it the same here or did I run into a compatibility issue? Thank you in advance!
We tested with 16GB 3200MHz, and it didn't work, but we tried with a 16GB 2400MHz, and it did work. We had to restart a few times, and then suddenly it recognized it and worked. That is why I recommend a maximum of 8GB, because if you place 16GB, the CPU will overheat a lot. It's not worth it because there is no fan for the heatsink; the more RAM, the more the CPU heats up.

regarding your question: if yours is intel CPU then don't worry about the ram speed, for intel CPU ram speed don't make difference. but if its amd then YES higher better performance.
but its up to 2666 MHz, anything after that you may not detect.
