people write them off as bad because they often contain alcohol. personally i like fast drying, elegant sunscreens rather than the alcohol-free ones that genuinely feel like a facial mayonnaise
Terrific video, from the content/recommendations to the helpful inserts of application demo clips, to just how visually appealing and elegantly styled the video is. And I can't stop admiring the dress, the hair, the everything...swoon!!!
Susan you look gorgeous! That red lip is everything! 😍 Oh and these sunscreen recommendations are on point! Because you recommended the Evy mousse, I bought a whole bunch! ☀️
A La Roche Posay Anthelios dupe is the Garnier Ambre Solaire Anti Dark Spots & Anti Pollution Super UV SPF50+ (with HA). It is less than 1/2 the price and the exact same fluid texture! I also love the Garnier Ambre Solaire Anti-Age Super UV (with HA and Niacinamide) it is a beautiful lightweight gel/cream which melts into the skin and it is so inexpensive and sits beautifully on my oily skin! I think these are only available in Europe as I'm sure Susan would have mentioned these since they're so iconic!!!
Crossing my fingers that we get a sunscreen from Naturium. Even if it can't be labelled as a sunscreen in the US because of the filters, I know when you do release one, it will cater to all skin tones.
Just purchased the Bondi Sans SPF based off of your recommendation and let me tell you that it is 100% the best affordable sunscreen I have tried! I wish I knew about this before splurging on sunscreens that are 2x the price.
I wanted to love the Garnier Pineapple Vitamin c sunscreen serum and it broke me out like crazy 😬 Hopefully the new Zitsticka sunscreen serum will be the one 🤞🏼🤞🏼
As a European living in the UK, I really don't get why you constantly separate the UK from Europe?! The UK left the European Union (sadly for many of us) but it didn't pack its stuff and move geographically, the UK is in Europe, this can't change based on leaving the EU.
Can you please do a video of your fave eye cream ? I dont seem to find one in your history. Would you also include the new dr Jart ceramidin eye cream and Paulas choice? Which one do you think its better?
I have been using it the last couple of days and my eyes are VERY sensitive. I notice a little pain today but it was after I accidentally rubbed my eye. Overall, I don’t have pain in my eyes from the Bondi Sands.
You have GOT to try the Native Face SPF 30 mineral sunscreen. It is the most elegant one I have ever tried, even more elegant than the Cetaphil one you reviewed here.
@@madisonjones2634 Color me shocked! I'm medium skin tone and I apply A LOT of sunscreen. You can't even see it in my beard or eyebrows. Goes to show you how individualized formulation is.
I wish more sunscreens wouldn’t have citrus oils in them when they’re fragrance free I find it so irritating to my skin, so many chemical and mineral sunscreens have orange or lemon peel added for no reason
The body version has half the amount of avobenzone, which I assume is to give less protection on UVA so you "get a beautiful tan". However, if you wear sunscreen to prevent skin aging, this one is not for you.
I just wanted to drop a note that it’s recommended that people with darker complexions use a SPF 30. I did this for years and didn’t see much improvement in my uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation. A few months ago I started using the Neutrogena Sheer Zinc SPF 50 and I saw immediate improvements! I wanted to share in case anyone with a darker skin tone had the same problem as me.
@@Skincareslug Yeah, but for different reasons. For people of color they will say that SPF 30 is sufficient because our melanin protects us more from the sun and that a higher SPF isn't necessary. I found a SPF 50 to be necessary. My hyperpigmentation is finally disappearing now that I went up in SPF. I also live in the southern United States so that should be a factor.
I hated that Cetaphil one. It left a white cast on me (and I'm light skinned)and it wore horribly under makeup. I used to think that I couldn't wear chemical sunscreen because I had a bad reaction with a Supergoop one, and wasted so much money trying to find a mineral one that worked for me. Ultimately I tried another chemical (Banana Boat Light as Air) and I've never looked back. There are a few mineral ones that work like Australian Gold, Supergoop Matte Screen, and Cotz Prime and Protect. But I'm sticking to chemical mostly. Cause buying a mineral sunscreen that doesn't work is expensive.
These drugstore brands are getting crazy with their prices …like there’s no reason that Garnier and Nuetrogena should be charging $18 for their products. You can get much better higher end brands/products for almost the same price. Maybe a few dollars more.
Why suggest "more accessible" sunscreens at the outset and then suggest one not available in the US? I appreciate suggesting more inexpensive ones as sunscreen is so important for daily use and protection. I would note that while European sunscreens may have "newer filters" and a better approval process compared to our slow moving FDA, US sunscreens are better tested and the SPF number is actually tested to be higher than the label claim. So I would not call European sunscreens more effective, but rather more cosmetically pleasing. Also, transparency of ingredients is another issue I have with Australian sunscreens for example vs US. FDA requires all sunscreen ingredients to be listed with a monograph, whereas in Australia the inactives are hidden on the label and the filter actives are not shown in a monograph, making it harder to decipher.
It's "MODERN FILTERS" not "newer" and frankly the EU has stricter standards. Most U.S. sunscreens don't offer enough UVA protection to be approved in the EU. I guess the EU cares more about its population than our FDA does. You think the FDA cares about you? Read about the Alzheimer's drug they just approved that is totally ineffective. The FDA needs to knock sunscreens off the drug list and onto the cosmetics list. And if they did, we'd catch up with the rest of the world on sunscreen. I used to say they were 30 years ahead of the U.S. but now they are 40 years ahead of us.
@@SusanSlattery EU Newer vs US older. Whatever semantics. There are new filters in EU sunscreens as formulators call them. I agree we need better sunscreen technology in the US. I would rather have the inactive ingredients be listed and not have them hidden from view. It is still government control in EU and AUS even though they may be stricter on safety. Making sunscreen a cosmetic will not improve sunscreens in the US as cosmetics are not regulated in the US like they are in the EU. Sunscreens should continue to be regulated for safety in the US as they are drugs, while also incorporating better UVA/UVB sunscreen filters. Too many cosmetics companies have free reign to cut corners and don't have consumers' best interest at heart. Cosmetics need to be regulated in the US because too many have been found to contain toxic chemicals. Sad third party testing has to be done to keep companies honest and the public has to advocate to force FDA and companies to make changes.
I would love to see a video about favorite Korean and Japanese sunscreens.
I started ordering sunscreen from Stylevana and the korean sunscreens are so good.

I would love a video with TRUE MATTE sunscreens. I want something so matte and not a speck of reflect lol

Thanks so much, I just tried bondi sands and I absolutely love it!
I really appreciated this video, Susan! Also where is your top/dress from? It’s so pretty!
Had such bad pilling with the garnier fructis. Tried bliss and never went back. It is blurring!
Can you do a lip sunscreen video?
Thanks for this! I’ve been struggling on finding sun screen alternatives that are worth my money since I can’t use beet the shield anymore!
Ironically you make a video of this as I’m on the hunt for face and body sun screen for myself. Thanks girl!

this happens to me too, i just use a mineral sunscreen around my eyes
La Roche posay Shaka Fluid, the best around eyes. No stinging
