In response to Chris's answer to my question, if a big part of the loss of player retention is due to the idea that their priorities are split, then wouldn't moving race characters to challenges league solve that in some ways? If all characters and currency from racing went to the current league, it would encourage people to race as they are still investing in the current league without gaining a distinct advantage over the normal league players.
NoReXx they can still have void leagues, but in cases where characters and stashes would go to standard/hardcore instead they go to the league. It's a way for the majority of races to feel like they are helping you in the league, while GGG can still maintain "fun" void races.
RichJMoney i guess if you take out void races, it could potentially fix the attention diversion problem, lets just hope that doesnt mean nobody cares about the voided ones anymore when they are actually kinda worthless. poe players are incredibly value-oriented, so idk

I just realised how much I love PoE and how awesome it is, I just look forward what GGG is going to do with the game. I cant imagine them to ruin it in any way its just... perfect (compared to any other game out there)
Paws has a great point I think. The fairly new Vortex spell being a prime example of bad design when it comes to making the screen too cluttered and busy. I hope they learn from that one..
D3 has an option for reducing the effects of team members and that seems to work just fine. The excuse of "Well then people would be able to hack it and completely turn off other peoples effects" seems to me to just be a very poor excuse. The vast majority of users are not going to hack the game, they just want to be able to see what the hell is going on.
Rather disappointed with Chris's answer to Paws question because while he says they want to tone it down they just released Breach League where ones like Tul breaches are a literal clusterfuck of big white-ish blue hurricanes and other spammy as hell effects. My computer is pretty high end and has never had problems with the game before, I'm even running in DX11 mode now. But any time I open a Tul breach, time to watch that frame drop to 30.
Same I'm pretty scared to even open breaches atm because my character may not survive in a situation where I might freeze up for even a second. Currently I'm also having fps issues in fire based tile sets like crematorium and koams dream....no idea why this is all of a sudden an issue but it's pretty obnoxious.

The one about reducing particle effects is such bs. "We want the game to look good." What's the damn point when your can't even see your character in the middle of a clusterfuck of particle effects? Anyone ever in a party with CoC Discharge or Vortex (MTX) builds will understand how hard it is to see shit on screen with giant explosions everywhere every half a second, assuming your CPU actually survived the unplayable frame drops. The only fucking reason they won't let you turn down particle effects is because they are scared people won't see enough of their fancy MTXs, so they can't make enough money.
a instant buyout auction house is the worst solution ever for the game.. a solution where you can set up items for taking bids in a fixed time frame. will work and make a fun bidding and buying stuff. and prevent flippers and ppl scamming. and price fixing
careful not to pump out too many mtx's... people might hit a point of mtx fatigue and feel like their investments are being devalued by the barrage of replacements that replace their purchases rapidly

Yeah I think having the option of where to move them would be good. I wonder if that would help much.

You can easily switch back to DirectX 9 in the settings, which allows turning off shadows!?
