    I’ve actually dived with this exact watch multiple times and although it’s not certified, it works very well as an actual divers watch. You can even find videos of deep sea welders wearing this watch while working under water, massive added value.

    For me having a rotating bezel is important on my "kitchen diver" watches to track cooking times in the oven or on the BBQ. Far easier to read than the tiny dials on a chronograph.

      Most folks don't know the proper way to utilize the bezel for timing things. I'm glad you still do it!

    Wow! You really are a true Duro fan. I have 2 Duros that I have modded with blue AR sapphire crystals and stainless steel bands, milled clasps. Such a fun watch to mod. And they look stunning. Great video!! Cheers

    I got my blue Duro last year from the Hurricane Walmart near Sand Hollow for only 11 bucks on clearance! Yeah…pretty sweet…especially considering how magnificently-capable this ubiquitous juggernaut is. I’m all in with the accuracy as well - about 2 seconds/month!

    Can’t say “I don’t envy you” !
    Since MDV-106 is available only in the US (I hear Marlin logo is licensed for the models sold in the US only), I had to import it from Amazon US to India at almost twice of $49 !
    I was thinking of getting the “international model” (MDV-107 without Marlin logo), available in India in the other colorways, but I thought why not have a little variation and get other models with rotating bezels ? Eventually I added MTD-125 and MTD-130 to my “rotating bezel collection” which also has MRW-200H and MRW-210H.

    It is a beautiful watch. I bought the green marlin mdv-106, which was brought from the US, because in Europe only the mdv-107 model without the fish is available. The licence for the logo has expired.

    Do all of the color variations have a rotating bezel? My local Walmart had the green one at one point and I could not get it to rotate, so just curious. Love the channel and I definitely don't think u talk too much in ur videos. Please keep up the great content!!

    I really like the Duro, l own a black one with the original strap and a blue one on a silver milanese bracelet.
    Recently I purchased a white silicon strap, a white chapter ring, a white bezel and a white dial. When I can find a donor 106 at a good price I will mod it and have a polar bear.

  • @damyr

    No more "marlin" on the newly produced Duros. I think they've removed it because some issues about branding, which is a real pity, as the fish gives it a bit of a flare and the watch looks more unique. I guess, that's why the watch changed the model number. It's not MDV-106 anymore, but MDV-107.
    Btw, in Europe the watch is double the price. You can find it anywhere between 80 and 120 euros.

    Hey Greg, in the fitness watches video you mentioned you purchased that watch for 50% off from some obscure website, could you please share the name of that website?

    • @GoodTimekeeper
      @GoodTimekeeper  4 месяца назад

      I bought it from www.onenessboutique.com/ on a Black Friday special last year. It was a very limited-time deal. As I check out their website today I don't see that they carry that particular watch anymore, and they don't have any special discounts on the other G-Shocks that are on the website today. I found the deal because I was monitoring a discussion on a forum at WatchUSeek. The topic was "Hey! I spotted a CASIO DEAL here!" People have been sharing deals on that particular discussion for a long time, but those deals often expire very quickly.

    Fancy for the little 36 mm Casio Duro, Greg...?

    • @GoodTimekeeper
      @GoodTimekeeper  4 месяца назад

      I wish one of those would suddenly show up at a local Walmart so that I could see it in person. A smaller Duro? Kind of reminds me of my first "skin diver's watch" from the 1970s. All of my watches from back then seem much smaller than typical watches today.

    • @MrR2185
      @MrR2185 4 месяца назад

      While it is awesome that they made a smaller sized Duro, I find it a bit disappointing because it does not have the features that make the regular Duro such a legend for the price. The new smaller model lacks a screw down crown, no more screw down case-back(it's a press fit) which also means it has only 50m water resistance, rather than the 200m of the big brother and the bezel is only a 60 click vs 120 on the original Duro. This is would not be a big deal if they didn't also cost similar money.
