She really joined Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2003 as the executive producer's assistant, so her professional life preceded the comedian's personal life.
After three years, McNearney started working as a writer. and in 2008 received a promotion to co-head writer. She has been a main voice on the well-liked show for more than ten years.
But the romance didn't exactly take off right away.
In 2010, Molly told Glamour, "He insulted me when I first met him."
"I was shown into the executive producer's office, and he introduced me to Molly, who will be working as my new assistant. Before my EP mentioned, "She competes in triathlons," Jimmy hardly glanced up from his computer. Then, he looked up at me and stated, "That is extremely ridiculous! How much of a waste of time.

Kimmel was seeing comedian Sarah Silverman at the time; the two broke up in 2008 after a protracted relationship, and the following year he started dating McNearney.
Kimmel apparently used food to win his now-bride over in a 2014 interview with Glamour.
She said of Kimmel, who has since gained notoriety for creating his own pizza, in the magazine at the time, "He cooked for me, and that was it." It "completed the deal."
