I'm in Love. This is just so beautiful, magical. You guys are so blessed that Michael gave you a chance to be part of his life. Mikey is a star and watching him train you is so cool. He is patient and firm when he needs to be. I look forward to when he has you fully trained. Thanks Mikey and good job you guys.
I'm very glad you guys talked to Bird Tricks. I don't have anymore birds but I still watch all the Bird Tricks videos because I love and enjoy what they do.
I love you so much- you two couples and now you made it happen: my VIPs all together with so cool lessions to learn. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! And „hallo“ to Mikey and Mia.......
Please please please do a course/find a mentor you are taking your birds life into your hands and youre responsible to take all of the possible safety measures for them and if you lose them, then that reflects poorly on the whole freeflight community
BirdTricks Yes, I know, thank you 😊 I have another bird who is indoor recall trained so I have some experience. But I know outdoor free flying is a lot harder and trickier to train. I will get a free fly trained with experience to help me teach him.
So happy you want to get into free flying, but we can let you know from experience, once you nail indoor recall and take your bird outside, it’s a whole new ball game with so so so much more to learn, not saying you can’t do it as we know many that have trained without a course, but waking up at sunrise and standing under a tree is not fun at all haha
I love how BirdTricks rolls up and schools the hell out of everybody. They're incredibly talented bird trainers, probably the best in the world right now.
Omg loved Loved LOVED it!!!!! You both are doing so much good with Mikey and Mia and I'm so happy you hooked up with Jamie and Dave to further the education. This was a picture perfect collab and I'm so excited for everyone involved 💙💛 good luck to you both!! P.S. I just had a consult with Jamie and Dave yesterday and it was dejavu hearing about predictable treating - we had gotten in such a pattern with 2 pine nuts for an A-B, 3 pine nuts for a big flight, a pistachio for perfect recall...so our world just got shook and we are having to plan out how to be inconsistent 😂
I have 2 budgies. I love all this info on training, freeflying, birds of prey and winds. Wow! I fish for a living on the ocean so I know how powerful a dinple breeze can be. Not only to boats, but little land birds and up offshore due to wind. It never crossed my mind to use the breeze for training. Love this interview. Bravo to both couples and all the feathered babies. ❤

We acquired a 17 day old Blue and Gold on March 6, 2019. Went from no feathers with eyes closed to the present which is an amazing change. Im sitting here on the laptop in Thailand with the very sleepy and recently fed "Blues" next to me in a large tub. I saw Blues preen pin feathers yesterday for the first time. Free Flight is the main goal besides a few tricks. This video brought some things to my attention and thanks!
STORMY! The obese Amazon they are discussing has such a part of my heart. you have to watch the Stormy The Interrupting Parrot BirdTricks Playlist - if I am having a bad day, I will be cheered up in 5 min. He is hysterical and I can't begin to describe him but for anyone who thinks birds don't have personalities - thank God someone saw his Little birdie light and rescued him and JamieLeigh immediately noticed it too and what a gift to the world to share his process. Heartwarming and hysterical and please please watch. It's also very honest about how adopting a bird is not easy and for every sweet moment there are 100 stressful ones. This video is really amazing! Don't worry about the legth of it I would happily watch the entire skype conversation as it is so interesting and inspirational. When I was a child I always wated to have a macaw, but my mother never allowed me. I use to go to the pet shop a lot to see the blue and yellow macaw that was there. Thinking now I would not have been able to offer a macaw a rewarding life back them. It is really good to see people like you, how show us how we should care about them and make their life worthy. I would to be able to adopt a macaw one day an improve their quality of life as you do. Thank you ver much for your videos

A lot of good information for Mia there. Hopefully you achieve the target for the 1st of June, good luck to both of you. Bird tricks were awesome. Next collab in person hopefully next time :)
So excited about this collab! Really wish I could give my 17 year old rescue parrot the freedom of free flight but unfortunately destroyed flight feather follicles aren't something that can be worked around or fixed. Best of luck with Mia, can't wait to see her joining Mikey in the sky!
Can your bird do any length of flying or gliding? You could set up perches or platforms of varying heights with interesting things on each that would give your bird something to be curious about. This would allow some exercise and wing work without your bird getting hurt in the process. It would help with confidence in movement as well as using wings for balancing. Obviously placing the landing spots close enough for the bird to hop, jump, or get between. You could even put some a bit further that offer a challenge and put a net between them in case the bird doesn't make it.

Amazing 😲 Although I‘d already knew some of the basics like correct reinforcement through seminars of Hildegard Niemann, a local parrot behavior expert here in Germany, there was so much knowledge to get just in this half an hour. Bird Tricks, you rock 👍🤙

Awww amazing. Thanks.
Amazing 😲 Although I‘d already knew some of the basics like correct reinforcement through seminars of Hildegard Niemann, a local parrot behavior expert here in Germany, there was so much knowledge to get just in this half an hour.
