I usually look at their eyes, Mia's eyes look larger and more expressive to me
I look at the colour of the eyes mickey has kinda white eyes
Mia has softer eyes while Mikey looks wacked out of his mind.🤣🤣

I'm glad both birds are in such a loving home. As someone who used to live with a macaw that was rescued from an abusive home, hearing what Mia's previous owner did boils my blood.
Why own something as majestic as a macaw if you cant deal with them wanting to fly?

I have been watching since before Mia joined your family and I never paid much attention to the specific physical differences but feel like you can see the difference in how they both interact with you guys and each other. Mikey has a more secure confident "I do what I want, give me almonds now" attitude. Mia has definitely gained more confidence & security but she still seems to look to Mikey for direction and has the "Should I do this thing? Maybe...Maybe... Yeah imma do it" kind of reservation that Mikey clearly doesn't.
Honestly they remind me of my cats but gender reversed.

I always recognize Mia from her flat head and face lines but it’s so interesting all the others differences you brought up. I also noticed they make a lot of macaw sounds. It’s weird to me because Chester never ever makes these sounds. He only talks human and calls « mom ». I wonder if he’s normal.

I don't know your name, but you have a healthy sense of humor! Just discovered your channel and have now watched about 8 of them (cried when Mikey decided to see what it would be like to fly into a window at full speed, his fear and crying I will never forget). Thinking he might have suffered some full on vertigo, and some other nasties due to that head blow. But I digress, your holey T's crack me up, parrots will chew holes in anything even a favorite Tee if you aren't quick enough. Great reminder to those considering a birdie. Thanks for the giggles.

I dont own macaws and haven't for a long time, but the little black feathers on their faces are practically like a finger print. They can be easily identified by their face feathers.
Bonus, my quaker parrots like to hear mikey and mias little "ahhh" noises and they have learnt how to mimic it

Its the personality definitely for me, Mikey the social butterfly, Mia the shy reserved one. I love m both & their humans. It took me 45 mins to watch video, but I hung n to see my favorite crew, I live n New Orleans n Wed we got hit with Cat 2 hurricane n lost power & still out n can b up to 10 days more, bright side notification just came thru just now & when I clicked it wasn't just a blank screen with a spinning circle. Thanks to AT&T & y'all made another powerless, cold morning without coffee & hot water was lil brighter. Happy Halloween🎃

I couldn't always tell them apart, but when I did it was the eyes (like for many people) and the black feather lines on their faces that I looked for. Thanks for the additional information! I hadn't realized mia had more green feathers, now I see it!

I am so grateful you guys rescued Mia from her former situation. And so happy to see she and Mikey are getting along. Does this also mean she had accepted you 100%? She looks so much more relaxed. Thanks for the upload; you always bring happiness into my and my Umbrella's life.He watches your vids with me. He used to have a Blue and Gold girlfriend at his former home. Broke my heart to take him away from her, but the family didn't have the time anymore to take care of him as cockatoos are very, very demanding. But I can honestly say he has found a happy and forever home with me.
So yes they get along great. I can hold her, fly her etc, but she still won’t let me cuddle her haha. The cuddles are only from Mikey and mummy human
This will be so helpful to me, I have to determine between two budgies. You included a few ideas I hadn’t thought of ( flying style, beak shape, head shape, toe differences, the way they hold themselves). Fantastic video. Please make one about their personalities. I would say Mia holds herself like a vulture ( my favourite bird). I had a budgie, that, I would describe; that she flew like a wasp. That shirt I would describe it as a ruffle Shakespeare shirt.

I have a ringneck and a concure. My conure starts fights would it be better to let them sort it themselves or stop them as I have always done before it starts? I'm worried the small conure asbo will get hurt..your videos are awesome and informative.. your fids ♡.♡ heart melters

Yes... I'd like to see a vid on the personality differences too. I'd always been able to tell them apart by their eyes. A lot of stuff in this video I hadn't noticed till you mentioned it. Bummed out that Mia's one feather never grew back. Good that it doesn't bother her. PS... WHERE IS THE EGG VIDEO? Still waiting to hear that they hooked up :)

With Mia and her missing feather, I don't know if your vet has looked at it but I may have a possible answer.
When my black-capped conure was a just weaned baby, his wings were clipped from the breeder. He hated that as it irritated him to no end. He constantly chewed on the feathers, not plucking, just chewing on the irritating parts of the clip. When ended up happening is that he chewed several of the flight feathers to the "nub", leaving just a bit of visible shaft. I had my vet pull that little "nub" out and was given some anti-inflammatory for him to allow him to not be irritated by the feather growth and now, aside from his tail feathers, is fully flighted and doesn't chew on his wing feathers.
That feather actually grew back, took a few years though.

I have ALOT of birds so I can EASILY tell them apart. 😃 Iv has birds in my house even before I was born and now I have had above a 100 birds 🤪

mia is an angel to everyone but Mikey is a daredevil i love both of them they are both the cutest and mia has different features from any macaw that's why she is special don't judge a book by its cover just the same thing mia is beautiful the way she is no need for changing her and Mikey he doesn't need to ever change he can keep being cheeky and silly all he wants i love u guys and have a blessed day:)

I realize he has scrutinized both of these birds in great detail for years, but most of these differences are very subtle, even in the photos where they're side by side. Like the lines under their eyes, for example, which to their humans are very obvious but to others...not.
Hi , so quick question , I know birds shouldn't have an all seed diet and nuts only for treats , but when your feeding a little fruit and lots vegetables are pellets nessceary , what do you guys feed mikey and does he get pellets?
We have recently started feeding pellets for dinner
