Finger over the spark plug hole 🕳 turn the engine over untill you feel a outpressure from the ⬆️🕳 check that both valves are rockers loose thats TDC ... then reset to 003 make it even simpler
This video made me realize all you have to do is look in the exhaust side and wait for the port to open 1mm then close and then you will be on TDC. Remember though, the exhaust valve will always be a TAD open so it will not close all the way.
why is there people stuffing rope in the motor to do this process do we need the rope or no i seen some vids and i ask this because im breaking in my ducar212 and people are saying i gotta set the lash after break in and i have zero experience should i just go to a mower shop or something so i dont mess it up
The rope is to change out your valve Springs to keep your valves from falling down in on top of the piston when you're trying to change the Springs out
@@minibikemadness9483 lol oh see i toldu im up shizz creek witout a paddle so i gotta get feeler gauges and rope not too bad thanks again for this info and taking time out yur day to help a lil monkey like myself lol apreciate ya MiniBikE madnESS
They say anywhere between .000 and .003 is fine. I would set a new engine around .002 just because they will open more with heat expansion. .003 is the "norm".
Thanks I almost broke my hand getting the pull cord yanked from me. This helped me find TDC pretty easily started on first pull too!

Why are some people turning the engine backwards to set the valves??
Any way you can do a close up? It's very hard to determine the valve positions you are pointing out...
Thanks
Getter done bud great tips spot on
Thanks buddy

Can't you just look through side cover and easily see top dead center?
on the valve lash is it .008 and .009 intake and exhuast
0.15-0.20
Intake -0.10-0.15

mthe feeler gauges i bought start at .005 smh wtf
Can you use stock push rods?
Up to a certain point. I wouldn't use stock rods on over 26lb springs.
