I am absolutely loving Plantwave with my synths!!! This is revolutionary. Three videos in with different synths and the journey is just beginning. Thanks for creating such an awesome device!
Many thanks for this. I uploaded a video on my channel a couple of days ago where I used Plantwave for sequencing my Elektron Digitone. It's great fun!
If you disconnect one part of the plant and connect to a different part of the plant does the Rhythm change? Have you tried to hook up to mushrooms yet? What about seaweed or lillypads? I wonder what carnivore plants sound like?
Have you guys updated the octave range of these to the full pipe organ range yet? I think its -2c or -3c...all the way down to 8hertz...??? Also, the base hertz frequency, can you set that to 432 yet? Also precise umm temprament tuning I think iits called...??? Or can you basically go in somehow and edit these things yourself or something? I haven't kept terribly up to date with your advancements since the midisprout
Can the keys on the korg nts1 be also played along with the midi signals from the plantwave? Can it be used completely without the phone and the app? What I mean to ask is, Can the midi from plantwave be used purely to drive the sounds from the korg.
I have set my new Plant Wave exactly the way you have it on video to my mini Korg and plugged in speaker to the headphone jack of my Korg, but how do you just get the plant sounds instead of one of the internal sounds. Right now I get Celestial...???
Joe have you uploaded other presets to Korg NTS -1 beside the original wave tables ? We have a couple different ones on the 2 Korg NTS-1's that made them come alive. Keep creating your changing the world.
@@GoapprStudios have you gone directly into mac using DAW midi? I am attempting to limit the devices needed for remote recording and just want the natural sounds not the presets on the plantwave app. ?
@@loveudon6972 I didn't receive my device thanks to UPS which is terrible in Sweden. I was looking forward to trying it but now it's on its way back to be refunded. If they can ship it other than with ups and I receive it I'll let you know.
Great question. It seems users of MIDI devices, including PlantWave, come across a lot of challenges with connecting to Teenage Engineering products directly. Their USB ports seem to require a "master device", which we haven't been able to get clarity on. For this reason, most people using TE products with external MIDI devices end up running them through a laptop / DAW and back out through a hub. This solves for the requirement of having a “master device.” This guy made a very long video going through what works and what doesn’t when testing TE products, but without an explanation of why. ruclips.net/video/aQSO9oWDC8c/видео.html Thankfully, he also made a handy spreadsheet with detailed results: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/1/d/1g5ZB77ULsoSWmcHW7R3LUE-Wh-GVclRoBlwfN3N5OrY/htmlview If we could get more clarity on what is entailed in a “master device” we might be able to make PlantWave act as one via a firmware update. As of now, there are no plans for that, so I suggest going the route of using a DAW or hub. Thanks for your question. I hope that helps.
Hello! Would that circuit work? The arrows represent a cable. A plant -> in plantwave out - > in syntheziser out -> in Zoom H4n out -> in recording phone camera? Is there a speaker missing in that equation or taking the outcome of the synthesizer to the zoom produces a sound wave which the zoom recorder detects? My goal is to record a video while the only sound of the video is the plant sound. Thank you!
i got mine awhile ago and was promised it would work via network to get the raw data to midi on my pc, and it still only available on MAC, kind of dissapointed.
Your Oxygen 61 is a MIDI controller, just like a PlantWave is. Like a PlantWave, the Oxygen 61 doesn't have any sounds on the device. It needs to be connected to a DAW like Garage Band, Logic or Ableton to make sound. So, instead of connecting PlantWave to your Oxygen, what you'll want to do is use it in place of your Oxygen. Whatever your Oxygen is controlling on your computer, PlantWave can control. When in MIDI mode, it sends MIDI out via USB, so you can use with whatever software DAW you normally use with your Oxygen.
@@PlantWave awesome thank you! do you have a tutorial on how to connect to logic by chance? i followed the instructions on my plantwave for connecting it, but it hasn't worked yet.

@@PlantWave thanks but for the link but there is no empirical information that it works with USB midi, only the instructions on how to do it for any type of cable. can you do a video showing how to connect direct to daw, please. cheers.
Yes, that's what I need to know too, like using it with in my DAW with VCV Rack. He doesn't seems to want to respond though :(
Can you please explain how to connect Plantwave via Midi (USB or BLE) to an OP1 synthesizer?
Thank you so much
Nice demo - check out my PlantWave demo with synths and how plants change the midi output and modulations based on diff light sources etc.

Why can't we go straight to the midi with the electrodes and get the synthesized music?
