I am super excited I just got mine, I am a dancer and I am going to dance with my plants! I'm excited to see how to use this in classes, too, also yoga classes and movement meditation, and performance.
My hubby surprised me with a device for Christmas. I’m so excited. I’m running around trying all my different plants. I’m excited about using the Pro Tools too.
I’m so excited I just got mine yesterday, but it did not come with any instructions. I was very surprised so I don’t know how long the charge lasts or anything. I did reach out to the team, so hopefully they call me tomorrow, I plan on buying a lot of these, as gifts.
@@thestellarcorpse The device converts the chemical energy into electromagnetic resistance so this would vary based on the plant making it always different and all you would need is a Digital Voice Recorder (DVR) to record the result. They are showing a variety of canned converter programs that come with the unit. With an audio mixer program on your PC it would be easy to use this as a background loop. That is what appears to be going on from what I am seeing.
Awesome video!!! I am a biologist and musician from Brazil and I would love to see your complete tutorial, I have searched a lot for different ways to make one, but most tutorials require super equipment and I have nothing logic pro x, korg, and curiosity... Thanks guys
Whats That,,i have never ever seen this before ,and i dont thnk thats working??? Today i see this the first time by my Dj Friend Lowercase tres ,Greetings and Gratulation to this Awesome Plantwave idea!! i cant believe that the Sounds comes out of the Plant??
Is there a setting to listen to the basic frequencies of the plant only? Meaning without the audio sets that come with the Plant Wave device. I'd like to listen to the raw tones which a plant makes minus your human sound sets.
I assume the app has upload music? I would just like more scientific explanation on how this works. How the app or music uploaded on the app knows how or what sound to make.
I just purchase a plant wave...was looking for English Manuel....I do not use cell phone where I live no signal....is there another way..can I do this old school on computer?
is there a vst version of this app? it would be great if you could put the data from the box into a vst and then use the vst as a player to trigger any chosen instrument in a daw
I think this is super cool and I am familiar with plants emitting their own frequency, but I'm curious... how can you have "pre-recorded" sounds in the app, when each plant emits their own unique frequency?
Are we able to sample these sounds to release them on music distribution platforms? Been my plan can't find the answer anywhere to my question joe on the fence about to get one... -Alex @worldwidemedias
Ideally for brain waves one would use a different sensor. Our long term goal is to deploy our software for use with different sensors like brain computer interfaces and heart rate monitors.
PlantWave is not fake-it’s a real device backed by science and technology that allows you to listen to the natural bioelectric rhythms of plants. Here’s a detailed explanation of how it works to clarify any doubts: Plants Produce Bioelectrical Signals: Plants naturally produce bioelectrical signals as part of their biological processes. These signals come from the flow of ions (charged particles) across cell membranes. This is similar to how nerves in humans transmit signals, but in plants, it occurs at a slower pace. Electrodes Detect Plant Activity: PlantWave uses small, non-invasive electrodes that are gently attached to the surface of a plant's leaves. These electrodes detect subtle variations in the plant's electrical conductivity. Factors like water content, temperature, and light exposure can influence these signals. Signal Processing: The electrical signals captured by the electrodes are usually too subtle for humans to perceive. PlantWave amplifies and processes these signals, turning them into measurable data that a computer or smartphone can interpret. Data Translated into MIDI: The processed data is converted into MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) signals. MIDI is a standard protocol that allows musical instruments and software to communicate. Music Generation: PlantWave assigns the MIDI signals to different musical notes and instruments. For example, one part of the plant’s signal might correspond to a piano sound, while another maps to a string instrument. These signals are used to generate soothing, ambient music in real time. Continuous Interaction with the Environment: As the plant responds to its environment-changes in light, touch, or water-the bioelectrical signals shift, resulting in dynamic, evolving music. This real-time interaction showcases the plant’s subtle responses to its surroundings. Why It’s Not Fake PlantWave doesn’t claim plants are "playing music" consciously-it’s a tool for translating natural electrical activity into something we can perceive. The underlying science is based on electrophysiology, a well-studied field that looks at how living organisms use bioelectricity. The music is an artistic interpretation of data, much like how fitness trackers interpret your heartbeat into graphs. If you’re skeptical, you can try the device yourself or read reviews and scientific discussions about it. People worldwide have successfully used PlantWave to connect with nature in a unique and creative way.
I would love to purchase one of these for many reasons but I need to understand more about how it works. Does the plant have a vibrational sound without notes in the background?
there appears to be no evidence that the plant is responding to anything . It is true that plants have emotion and feel pain however you should not have to hook anything up to cell phone and run it thru an app to pick up any real detection . If you could simply run it directly into the speaker box and turn up the volume and listen for any sounds that would be more realistic than running it through a program . There should be a video showing the pads being placed on a pair of table legs or chop sticks or coffee mug and not run thru any cell phone . Not everyone uses the unsmart phones which seems to be the norm for these kind of things . Try a demo video that talks about these issues or concerns . Thank you
Yes. With the Plus and Pro subscriptions you can record MIDI in the app. Also, without the app or any subscription, you can connect the device to a digital audio workstation via MIDI, USB or WiFi and record the MIDI that way.
I’m not specifically familiar with AUM. How do you normally connect a MIDI device to AUM? You can absolutely record MIDI to a DAW without using our app.
@@PlantWave A midi device say a synth is loaded into a audio channel, 3 horizontal stripes at the lefthand side of the selected node allow you to connect to any available midi channel and select an incoming midi device. Why do you insist we are listening to plants? Why don’t you state from the outset that the plant serves as a pulse generator, or a electrical trigger source? The sounds we hear are arbitrarily created within the app.
Sonification is a method of allowing a human to hear data from a system as music. Just like we look at the weather with a weather map, we listen to plants with a PlantWave.
I'm simply surprised that by scrolling down the comment section, most think/assume they are hearing the biodata-but that's not what the biodata/electrical pulses sound like-we're hearing arbitrarily designed sound generation, which is triggered by the bio-data. So like the weather map with different colors chosen to represent levels of precipitation, the arbitrarily designed "musical" sounds (and I take it there's no atonal. distorted overdriven dissonant type choices) are NOT the bio data itself. Its akin to action-reaction; the musical sounds are designed to react to the bio data, correct?
Each note is a representation of a change in the pulse width of the signal we’re getting from the plant. You can learn more about data sonification and how we apply this practice to plants, here. www.plantwave.com/blog/is-plantwave-real-the-science-behind-plantwave

How to buy that device? This device is available in the Philippines?

Now I know what I want from Christmas from myself :D
Could you theoretically put the pads on like your head and hear your own thoughts as music or does it only work for plants
They're just electrodes. They will make sound from anything that runs on electricity. There's nothing special about plants.

Is the sound of the music notes coming out from the device or from the phone?
Does it work on plant based food after being severed from vine?
Do you need a phone for this or can it play directly from the device?
Can you show an example of the best way to charge it? I'm having a hard time getting mine to charge!
do you need to have internet to enable connection to app?....as wanting to use in a remote location where there's no internet

Can you make a video on how to integrate it with VCV Rack?
There is the possibility to have external audio? Tnx
You can route the app to a Bluetooth speaker or connect your phone to an aux

how do you hook these up to a visualiser
