Hey give me the specs on your box and what woofers plz. I'm using 2 ct sounds Tropo 18's working on a 4th order blow through as well and having trouble finding the perfect ratios. If I do 6 cubes sealed 12 cubes in the ported chamber at 45hz I seem to get the best gains out of the graph I see on WINISD. BUTT thats 18 cubes total seems too big for 2 18's.
A few years ago i bought 2 10s from Rockville for 36 dollars a piece it was a shame when they stopped selling them because those things where good and im still rocking 2 6.5 and 2 8 midranges from them
These subs will go up in price in the near future for sure! The build seems great for the 100 dollar range!

Yes I would say the only thing holding the sub back is it can only get down to 33Hz.
Breaux wonder if box tuning would make up for that? He did say he built that box to perform better across a wide range so it may not be optimum tuning for low low frequencies.

DA BEARDSMEN I've gone through quite a few subs from that mid-range and down price (up to $200 for one sub) and honestly i think they're basically all the same. Sure, some are made in house with propietary materials and whatnot but there's VERY little difference between low and mid-range price subs. When you get above that 200 mark and compare it with something lower you may notice lower end extensions or more full, powerful bass. Compare that same 200+ sub with another 200+ sub and those differences will likely dissipate.
Box build, tuning, and in car variances make a big difference in how we perceive sounds.
Remember, these people are in the business of selling products, services, and entertainment so it's in their best interest to drum up specs, name brands, and wow factor.
Frozencajun what the hell are you talking about? The SPL test at the end clearly shows only 2db lower at 25hz than at 45hz. That means virtually just as loud at 25.
33 hz resonance or tuning DOES NOT mean a sub won't play lower in a car. It MAY mean you need a highpass filter if you run out of excursion below tuning but you can clearly see heaps of output below 33 in this video.

Well even though I'm paralyzed from the waist down, the sub sounds awesome so it wasn't a total loss!! My girlfriend's happy because she has her boom back and I'm on the road to recovery and I'll be back up an moving again in no time. The doc says I'll be confined to a wheelchair for about 6-8 weeks so get ready guys summer's just around the corner.. New and exciting things are coming up for the new build. In order to finally get Frankenstein stripped down all the way, the local fire department is generously allowing me to use their jaws of life which should make this job a piece of cake (in my best Exo voice)!!! Oh we would love that, we don’t want to spend more we just know a 2 inch coil that only has 15mm of Xmas, that can only handle a few hundred Watts, want handle the abuse we dish out with our giant 10k watt systems. If they would we would gladly pay there price. And also $500 don’t get you a top tier sub but close. Hell I gave $1200 for one 13” and a box but it’s a sound quality sub there always higher. Now my DC audio XL’s where $465 a piece and yes there slightly louder then the JL13w7 but don’t sound no where near as good but they do exactly what I want them to do and that’s be decent sounding but violently loud.

Bought the 200w under seat shaker for a couple hundred, shipping in, from Rockville. Nothing but Impressed. Great looking and sounding product. Rockville is on my watch list for sure now.

I'm building a standard budget build with a 8 AWG "Big 3 Upgrade" and easy access new and used equipment.
I started working with a Pioneer 760 that was given to me blown. Now I am pushing the MTX Terminator™ with a JL Audio 500/1 and need to upgrade my power output to hook up my third amp. Lol. It never stops!
Oh. I fixed that Pioneer amp. That's what got me back into it.
love your vids great job. I also prefer to buy cheap ish audio and tweak it to sound great. I've always say" if you start out with best you'll get bored faster." I don't listen or really like rap in general unless it's more instrumental. saying that you should give a listen to a few of these songs that will really get your subs moving and sounding great.

Yeah man. I'm about to get set up in a 2013 Dodge Dart. Need to sound deaden it first. My only concern is power but I do have a 50fd Capacitor with a volt and amp meter on it. Running 0 gauge cable to both Rockville amps. Highs/mids on one amp and to my subwoofer amp as well.
I always run equipment that cost less but does just as good and sometimes better than the "High-end" equipment such as JL Audio, etc.

I feel this same sentiment. About two years ago I bought my B2 IS12. When I bought it, it was the v2 but because of delays and what not I got the v3 pretty much within the few days it came out. Was $150 at the time if i'm not mistaken and man does that thing pound. I use it in a home audio setup but boy oh boy does that thing just let loose. I shock everyone who goes to listen to it. Like the box in this video, my box wasn't designed to get crazy loud but instead it was designed to be able to dig into the lower frequencies for movies and generally play pretty flat.

Depends on who you ask. To me, hands down ported!
“Better” depends if you want Power or quality. I prefer ported and ported does give a small Db boost over sealed but doesn’t have the same responsiveness and frequency range as a sealed box
Ports give you the "rumble" sealed gives you the "punch". In my opinion.
Also depends what you listen to. If you like the boom of rap then always go ported to get more. If you like rock or country then sealed will give you a tighter kick but you also need more power to push the air with sealed boxes. I always went ported in all my builds.

The terminator 2 12” subs with the planet audio amp is honestly the #1 set up for the price. Only 200$ for everything you need. And they aren’t shitty either, they sound great! Especially for 200$

How many no subwoofers do you have laying around. I’ve always wondered how hard it would be to take the magnets and coils off and turn them into passive subwoofers. A box for 1 10 would need 2 12s but the box should be as big as a ported box.
Just got my Alpine r10 (the new 2018 version) with my kicker 600.1 amp @2ohm. Sounds great and it’s louder than I thought and with good clarity. Nice job going with the ring leads also!

Love it! Been a Rockville fan just over a year now. Got the db55 5 channel amp for my polk mm1 12" 2 polk 6x9 and 2 polk 4x6 and handles it no problem. Im fairly certain I could hook another sub and a few more speakers and the amp still would take it. And I own Marantz for my in home audio, so I don't usually go the cheap end
I have got loud on a budget too. I have 2 12" kickers in a aero ported box(bought for $100) and a old 4 channel 800 watt kenwood amp(bought for $60) and it shakes everything in my car. I know it isn't the best to run on a 4 channel amp for subs, but that's what I could afford.
