I like @MysticTroll's prediction. I like the story inversion idea, very cool idea. Execution, not so great so far but I'm trying to reserve my view until it's all over.
Longer term, I see Venestra whipping everyone into shape, cleaning up the mess and implementing the cover up that runs right up to Mundi looking at Windu, saying, "but the Sith have been extinct for a millenia." Unspoken implication: they're extinct Mace, REMEMBER?! (sorry, can't italicise).
Having said that, I've been barking up the wrong tree predictuon-wise for years now. Not that I care. My life is not defined by ny SW head canon.

The switch up doesn’t even make sense…. osha watched Qimir kill everyone in cold blood including her friend from childhood YORD. WHY would she be inticed to the dark side? Even if Sol had a dark past he trained her in the light side ways of the Jedi

  • @kovie9162
    @kovie9162 3 месяца назад +1

Obvious misdirection. Why would a show's writer and producer reveal or even hint at what's really going on? I think she's just trolling fans, especially "toxic" ones. Just because the Jedi aren't perfect and their actions end up hurting others doesn't mean that they're dark side users, just naive, smug and arrogant, convinced that they and they alone have found the proper way to use the force and protect the galaxy.
So if she's hinting at and if this show is about anything, it's that, that the Jedi aren't perfect and infallible and make mistakes, sometimes horrible ones with massive consequences. But we knew that already,? So this just elaborates on it and show how deep the "rot" goes. They fell not because of the Sith, but because of their hubris and blindness. Pride goeth before a fall and the road to hell is paved with good intentions and all that.
I don't think that Sol is evil or deceptive in the sense that Sith are deceptive. I think that he meant well, whatever he did, and realizes that he made a huge mistake and is trying to atone for and reverse it. What I think happened was that the two mysterious robed figures in E3 where Qimir when he was a young apprentice and his master, whoever it was. They came for the twins, and when they saw that the Jedi were about to take one of them, they tried to stop them, there was a massive fight, the witches were killed in the crossfire, the Jedi got away with Osha, Qimir killed his master, and took Mae (which is why she didn't know he had a master).

Its not the best written story maybe but but by no means close to the worst thing out there and to be honest parts of it is brilliant (sol, qimir, THE fight scene), I honestly struggle to remember anything I silike about it aside from the short episodes which honestly bother me... you wait for a week make a moment for youself and you get 30 minutes of show... barely. It's not ire when you simply don't relate to queer-coding (in a family show), laughable witch chanting, bad acting, ignorance of canon, poor storytelling that telegraphs everything, and shiny-shiny distractions like a meh light show and poor choreography masquerading as a light sabre fight, no, the best light sabre fight ever! That's five good minutes out of 150 - not a great ratio. You know it's bad when the creator has to do an interview with the 'Mary Sue' to 'explain' her art (denying that it's all about queerness), simply to woo back those fans who walked away or had no interest in the first place.

I think lesley drops the hints in order to have some redemption for what is an average show. Ive said from the beginning that the story is like a murder mystery movie, and ive always thought sol is key to understanding why he is keen to unit the 2. I don’t think Qimere wouldn’t know the identity of his master, and i believe that is yet to be confirmed or proven although if its Sol id be surprised. Still, I hate to say it, i don’t care really because i think for all the money that was spent im truly disappointed! I’ve recently watched Fallout on prime, everything about it leaves the Acolyte looking more like a Leming. I’ll continue watching because, well, it is watchable. Kennedy should’ve never hired her to take on this show, because she doesn’t understand the Star Wars world. It’s that simple. She was desperate to rescue her career after working for Harvey Weinstein for years, and was willing ton do whatever KK wanted, which was to start some sort of war of the sexes that really didn’t exist in the fandom. It just isn’t;t a thing. I’ve said it before that misogynists and homophobes exits in society and the Star Wars fandom exists as a small part of that same society. So these are societal problems not STar Wars. If Star Wars wasn’t in existence these people in society would still be the same people. Star Wars is about great stories in a fictional galaxy invented by George Lucas, and now being ruined by people who have no idea what rings true in that world and what doesn’t. Hire people who know how to write good stories, not to trigger conflict in the community. All we want are good stories and great shows. They did it with the Mandelorian, and Obi-wan oasis okay to an extent but should’ve been a movie or given the same budget as the Acolyte. I liked Ahsoka as well, and Andor, but this thing we’ve been watching for five weeks or more has been torturous at times, which is a shame as there are some characters in there who could’ve been great for the franchise. They killed Jecki off, of all people. She was the one character that was able to push the case for a second season. I’m not complaining about the acting, which has been good, but the material they have t work with hasn’t;t been great either. Maybe they’ll convince us all in the final three episodes it’s a masterclass in writing Star Wars, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

As a fan I'm absolutely on board with Ki Adi Mundi being placed in this story because of his views in The Phantom Menace. His presence reinforces the fact that Jedi hubris has lead to a fateful ignorance of their impending doom. I believe The Acolyte story is all about how the Sith begin to truly undermine the Jedi Order without them even knowing. It appears that there are two factions emerging in the Jedi Order at this time. The traditionalists who believe that change is dangerous and choose to bury their heads in the sand and perhaps Master Sol is part of a movement that feels the Jedi need to adapt to more radical behaviours to survive. All the while, the Sith pull the strings.

This is what the writers of Kenobi should have also done too for the Reva Character. Kennedy should really have put her money where he mouth is and actually give Reva her own show, a series all about how Reva was taken during Order 66, and brainwashed/trained to be a "Inquisitor" and such a show could have given us some real insight into the life of Inquisitors; how they're always trying to earn Vader's admiration and respect, but he never once cares about any of them, just sees them as a tool to control and use. And Reva starts to see this, or always felt this and secretly plotted, patiently training, learning all she can from Vader her mentor, to one day become skilled and strong enough to defeat him. Hiding her true feelings and intentions from him.
Such a show could have taken us across many parts of the Galaxy, as we follow Vader and his pupils, tracking down various Jedi, slaughtering them in really cool "Highlander" style lightsaber duels, where Vader takes them on, sometimes he rarely even take on whole villages who try to help protect a random Jedi, and fight him and he just kills them all. And we're seeing Reva close by, learning but horrified, badly conflicted too.
And then the finale episode, being about that scene, where she tries to kill him and fails miserably, but DONT do that stupid crap having him literally stab her and she survives. Instead she fights him and he toys with her, then he like badly slashes her, or cuts off her arm or something and she narrowly escapes and has to hide out from him; making her sympathetic.
This is what they actually should have done, because Fans would have absolutely watched such a series as that and would have really liked the Reva character I think.
This would have also freed up the Kenobi series, that was already choc full of too many characters, and allowed more proper insight and screentime dedicated to purely Kenobi and Vader as it should have been.
I just hate Kathy Kennedy, every decision she makes is wrong and just spectacularly bad, because she doesn't understand starwars lore; but then has the utter cheek to attack and blame us fans when we reject this crap she keeps interfering with.
I agree the Sith should have been the main focus of the acolyte, its what all fans who were optimistic for the show at first thought and expected it would be about.

I think, at this point, if you’re correct (and I don’t think you are) it would be just more terrible writing. Sol has not been displayed as having any nefarious tendencies by the show. Sure, ep. 5 did suggest that there is more to Sol than we’ve seen, but I’d guess that has more to do with the events back at the witches coven. Qimir’s statements seem to suggest that he knows something about Sol, and Sol did react to Qimir’s statements rather negatively. It’s obvious there is more to the events with the witch coven than we’ve been shown. Seems more like Sol has a guilty conscience. Who knows, though? Mae sure has changed her motivation out of nowhere several times now. When last we saw her she knocked her sister out, impersonating her and leaving her stranded with a Sith running amuck. Previously, she was going to turn herself into the Jedi and betray her master all because OSHA is alive and THAT’S what she cared about (until she doesn’t). Mae is not even a character. It’s just terrible writing. Who knows? Maybe Sol, Venestra and Ki-Adi-Mundi are all part of a secret Sith ring operating within the Jedi Order. When things can just happen for no actual reason it’s just bad writing. The very fact that the idea of Sol being a Sith or something like that is is even possible at this point shows that the writing is terrible and inconsistent. And if anything like that proves true we can all question why Sol didn’t kill Qimir when he absolutely could have. Honestly, I think this is grasping at straws with the hope that the story is better than it actually is.

I think he slaughtered the witches or had something to do with it, but I would think the Jedi would perceive them as dark side users and justify his actions. From the twins pov that would definitely be evil and I don’t think Qimir really cares, but uses it as a way to manipulate both twins. I could also see that decision causing problems between the Jedi there and bring deep regrets. Remember this show is supposed to be from the Sith/dark side pov so something that we’d expect from Jedi they would definitely see differently.
