All of us have read tolkiens works on this panel except for chase Forwardintotheblack. Our question is why does it matter if we have “actually” read tolkiens works?
Just because we like the show doesn’t make us any less of Tolkien fans? You do know that you can always go back and read and consume content that you like right?
@@thepodwans So you're just ignoring the glaring changes to characters, lore, background, intent and ethos from his works then? You haven't noticed any discordance between the prose of a master writer and the cringe-inducing, clunky and dull scripts served up on screen? I'm guessing the "ooh, shiny" CGI has just distracted you from all of this? No feeling of unease with the massive differentials between events in the books that took hundreds or more years and those in the show that take a matter of days at most? What about the lack of believable characters, when people who know who Sauron is and what he's doing (which they did NOT in the books) say "Nah, it'll be fine, we'll keep using these rings anyway, what's the worst that could happen?" Or what about the continuous repurposing of scenes and dialogues from Peter Jackson's films? Honestly, I simply don't believ one of your two premises - that you are enjoying the show, or you are actually Tolkien fans - there is no overlap in that Venn diagram! By the way, my ability to read does not change the premise in any way, and the works have stood the test of time. How many will remember this show in 10 years? Hell, who will remember it by next season?
You must be the only fans of the show...
i cannot believe my ears....
Idk what's happening with your ears, but you should definitely get that checked out! Ear infections are very serious my friend.

@@thepodwans hahaha, ok...so you're not Tolkien fans then...that explains why you're enjoying Bezos' vanity project
