Russian has had a love of aircraft from the earliest days of aviation and like the US, Germany, France and other nations has had its Frankenstein monstrosities and its absolute works of art. Russia seems to place a high value of maintainability, ruggedness and making aircraft that can be deployed into rough conditions. Maybe someone who know more about Russian training. Do Russian pilots practice takeoffs and landing on unimproved fields and or road systems? Other than the A-10, I’m not aware of any US military fighters / or fighter attack with designs to protect intakes from FOD or even tires or suspensions designed to take the greater forces of grass fields or dirt roads. I’m not knocking US aircraft... just noting a difference in designs philosophy. I was finishing my airline training in the 90’s when a lot of Mig -15’s, 17’s, 21’s were being imported and brought back to flight capabilities. Many of these aircraft were being flown in Europe with parts missing, wire (bailing) holding in parts and in conditions that would immediately ground a F-4 or F-15....... maybe I’m wrong in making this assumption. Again, would love to hear anyone’s thoughts on this.

In the first engagement, when you were trying to get the nose on him with the AoA limiter and min speed warnings going off, did you consider bypassing the ACS? This would have brought the nose right around earlier, but potentially left you a sitting duck if he managed to get a 9x off. Curious if you would recommend being more aggressive with the ACS.
@14:45 Strange that the AIM-9X did not track anything. Su-27 fired its flares upwards, that should even have helped to direct the missile closer to the Su-27. For whatever reason it decided to neither track the flares nor the Su-27. It looks like the missile after the initial turn flew in a straight line so it was not pulling any g's. Maybe it was it fired too close so the missile thought it would harm the Hornet, too?
I wonder if a missile could use infra red spectroscopy to distinguish the heat signature of jet engines from that of the flares. It should be possible in theory because the hot gases from the jet will have a very different chemical composition from those produced by flares, so the IR “fingerprints” (frequency spectra) will also be very different. I bet this has already been thought of. Any comment on this?
So can anyone tell me how accurate the flight model on these non-full fidelity aircraft are? Is it realistic to the real life version? Is it built with access to real data or what? I'm not even sure how these modules are made.
My understanding is the FC3 planes have the same level of aerodynamic and physics simulations that go into full-fidelity modules. Some more complicated things like flight augmentation systems may not be as accurate as a full-fidelity module. The consensus seems to be that the MiG seems off, but others like the Sukhoi are better and the F-15 is supposed to be on the money.

@@Stormidze I tried to cut copy and paste the Reply into English... wasn’t able. :(
Could you show a encounter/comparison with the f-15 and/or in combination with their respective f-16 and mig 29?
@@kpsig maybe you are right... the maneuverability of the su must be a huge advantage. Id like to see the differences in more detail, maybe the f15 could compensate with another strength.
11:27 A wild hornet buzzing through the meadows.
That damage model looks sick!
7:15 I'm not the only who thinks this sounds like an old Battlefield theme song.
You arent: he's got some awesome music selections for this channel.
do you ever fly the f22?
Been watching your videos for ages but only recently gotten into DCS, any recommendations for flight controls to get (preferably budget).
hey thanks man ya get something cheap dude don't think u gotta go big to be successful, most of my videos on this channel earlier were filmed with the thrustmaster t16000 at the time it was like a 50$ stick.
Thanks to Microsoft, all HOTAS systems are fucking horrendously expensive :( Give it some time though, and you can get a t1600000000 for around $60, and the complementary throttle (TWCS) for about as much. Don't bother with an Extreme 3d Pro, they break pretty easily.
Please do a Viper vs Flanker fox 2 fight along with guns 🙏
Great vids as always
Id like to see more WW2-Korean war era dog fights
The same fight against a Super Hornet? What do you think?
After doing a little research I'm guess the older Hornet might beat the Super Hornet because the newer plane is heavier? I was imagining that the larger leading edge root extensions of the Super Hornet might give it more nose authority than the original Hornet.
Very interesting Vid. A little bit history, some tech stuff and for what it was designed. The informations are well presented and u can see the described bird in Action. Love this kind of Videos. If not already done... can you do one from the Tomcat? Thanks for your work, Viper out :)
I know it’s Russian but I’ve always loved the su27 and mig29 just imagine if the u.s. and Russia could build a fighter jet together nothing would be able to touch it
True but then their would be no need for such a plane because there would be no direct competition for it.
@@level30boss27 You don't consider China as an emerging airforce? Lots of other countries (like UK, Turkey, Japan and India) have their own fighter programmes, including 5th gen fighters.
I know that coop between the States and Russians is never going to happen, but I wouldn't discard Chinese as major force in the course of 10-15 years.
Even america doesn't build together with Europe than to say Russia
@@d.h.9239 you know china has huge resources on rare earth, metal and cheap capacity for work. they cant go broke because every nation need their rare earth. they can even waste billions for ghost cities like kangbashi, lol.
btw. WWII wasn't just usmurica vs germany you just bombed our cities day in day out.
@@d.h.9239 dude srsly, you can just hope that chinas economic bubble doesn't pop that fast because they still need know how and engineering from the western world. if that happens it will damage the global/us market a lot. it's just a matter of time cuz they have a stupid corrupt government.
great video, really enjoyable
My props to Master Jay.
ACS?
Is off-bore sight relevant modern fighters with HMD and IRIS-T ifor example?
You can launch on almost anything at any position.
Nice plane, I really love it
Master Jay did the Egyptian mig21 move lol
@14:45 Strange that the AIM-9X did not track anything. Su-27 fired its flares upwards, that should even have helped to direct the missile closer to the Su-27.
For whatever reason it decided to neither track the flares nor the Su-27. It looks like the missile after the initial turn flew in a straight line so it was not pulling any g's.
Maybe it was it fired too close so the missile thought it would harm the Hornet, too?
Great videos bro. Can u tell me name of the background music?
1:30 awesome move
Hey guys, I am thinking of getting into DCS, do you think the su 27 or su 33 would be a better plane to buy
What's the name of the song in tacview?
Hit the ground.. hit the ground.. !!
Ow... he made it..
Como será un combate Su27 vs Mig 29 ?
I'm just want to make sure, does the radio intro said: "back down, back down,"? If so then how do you do that with a fighter jet?
“Good kill good kill”
@@GrowlingSidewinder нравится тебе су 27?
nice, do you like to play the warthog and do you dogfight in it ?
Beautiful video ;)
The flight model in your videos seems to have less "bounce" than some other videos I have seen for DCS. Have you done something to help that?
Trim her out man that’s all I did
7:21 music name please
That merge at 8:07 - Yikes!!!
Someone is calling you, pick it up! xD
11:27 Someone got their lawn trimmed
What is the corner speed of Su-27 ?
You said it has two turbojet engines when actually they are turbofan engines
Love your channel man.
I was wondering if you can make a video compiling all the fighter jet Sims you have played over the years.
Really hope you played IAF (israeli airforce ) or USAF.
Ahah ya dude I grew up on janes IAF and ww2 sims those old 90s sims were awesome
11:21 wow!
Thank you o7
Yay more sukois
Fam please make more videos using jeff,i want to see it in ur capable hands
LOVE THE BATTLEFIELD THEME
13:56 aim 9x block II with the datalink can dot an 180 turn and hit the enemy at your six
Not in DCS
Yes yes yes, more russian jets!
Definetly one circular fight plane
Is it just me or the T-10-1 kinda like F/A-18E/F Super Hornet ?
I always wonder what is this victory theme is(from 7:16 〜) Btw good WVR video.
Excellent 👍
you should fly SU27 more
1:34 holyshit that look like out of macross
