    The engines will also suction feed from the fuel tanks. I once saw a test pilot try to balance the fuel tanks and even after turning off both fuel pumps in one tank it made no difference because the engine still suction fed. Illegal during landing and not recommended during turbulence.

    can a double engine aircraft have a gravity feed fuel system?

  • @sakshikhorana
    @sakshikhorana 4 года назад

    Nice explanation..Could you please explain suction feed as well! Thanks

    • @JxJAVIATION
      @JxJAVIATION  4 года назад +3

      in case of failure of the pumps, the pressurized fuel feed to the engine is stopped. so the suction feed line allows the fuel to be fed to the engines with the help of gravity.

    • @sakshikhorana
      @sakshikhorana 4 года назад

      @@JxJAVIATION if it's using gravity than we term it gravity feed or suction feed?

    • @JxJAVIATION
      @JxJAVIATION  4 года назад +2

    What happens if there is a imbalance in fuel... Will the aircraft will roll?

    • @JxJAVIATION
      @JxJAVIATION  3 года назад +3

      There is usually an allowable limit for fuel imbalance. Within these limits there will be no operational impact. But if the imbalance goes beyond these limits then some inputs on the ailerons/rudder may be required for level flight.

    Can you please give me an example of an aircraft that used gravity feed fuel system?

    • @JxJAVIATION
      @JxJAVIATION  3 года назад

      Most of the aircraft have a gravity feed system as a safety feature, incase the pumps fail and fuel is available in the tanks.

    Which fuel valves does not allow fuel to flow from the inner tank to the outer tank?

    • @JxJAVIATION

    So why don't they just use pressurised oxygen tanks to fuel them? Surely this is cold fusion?

    • @JxJAVIATION
      @JxJAVIATION  3 года назад +1

      Oxygen has to be mixed with a combustible fluid for the combustion process. It is possible to use hydrogen as a fuel which few companies are working on.

    Show us genuine photos of the fuel tanks in those commercial airline wings. I’m not convinced what you’re saying is true because the quantities stated that are put into the aircraft don’t match the dimensions.
    It’s as if you’re telling people they can fit a fully grown elephant inside a VW Beatle.
    You’re talking nonsense mate.

      After 36 years of installing fuel systems and building the commercial airliners that house them I can tell you that the wing structure itself is the fuel tank. When you look out of the window of an airliner and you see the aluminum skin of the wing that skin is the skin of the tank. dcniner01
