Nice knife. I'd prefer a better sheath. With a handle retention as well. Let's see you throw it at a grizz, na just jokin . Feather sticks. And light. Thanks.
I have had the knife a week ago and two screws have already come out of the sheath. I think that for that price they should upgrade the sheath to a leather one because a friend who bought the same knife had the same thing happen to me, now I will have to Have a new sheath made to carry my knife.
I use it for an every day carry carries nice My knife didn’t fit very tight in the sheath it was kind of loose what I did was I tightened up the screws on the top and tighten it up real nice
I was able to pick one of these up yesterday and it is a beautiful and well made knife. When I saw it advertised a few months ago from Benchmade I knew I would have to have one. It has already taken up residence in my grab and go bag and Essee went to a secondary bag.
Thanks, Zach, for the share of these two BM fixed blades. The anonymous really looks to be a great overall hunter/camper knife due to all of its features.
Cruwear and the price shows. Equivalent to a full size Adams, so yeah priced right. Like the nylon loop to let the sheath flop (controlled) a bit. "Magic 8 ball, do I need this?" Results are "All signs says Yes!" Can sit in the shelf with the other fixed blades. How many garden knives do I need? Thanks Zach!
Right Napster, this one would do good in the garden too!! I have seen the striker used on a demo model, so I am excited to test this one out. Have a great weekend!!
If tests are still on the table, please test its chopping power! I would have liked the handguard/retention nub to be slightly less prominent, I'm talking mere millimeters smaller, is grinding it down with an edge grinder feasible? Would it get worn down before the damn grinder disc?! Edit: I have changed my mind after having it on-hand, the handguard appears more prominent in pictures, but is totally not excessively large in person! It is a fantastic knife that will outlive any human!
It's a guard. It's tactical. Most people don't fully appreciate it. Even some makers. It's not just to protect your hand from sliding up the blade. It can be used choked up in reverse grip like hammering a nail to generate maximum stabbing, potentially going thru bone.
I like it, but I rarely need anything that big. I keep an Izula 2 in my truck and might get a White River Backpacker Pro for a better slicer that's stainless.
Interesting that they made the sharpening choil the place to strike a ferro rod. Not sure what to think of that. You better beat the hell out of it in your outdoor video. I’m talking baton, tip test, dig with it, the works
Warning be sure to put some Loctite blue to each of the Philips fasteners holding the belt loop before heading out for the first time! Mine came loose from the factory and I lost one fastener 0:45 with the second screw very loose while in the field on the first day out! Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
Classic bm sheaths, knives are good but the sheath on the pukko ruined it for me, hard to get excited for an outdoor knife with a basically unuseable sheath
Design wise not for me with the huge finger stop, still want a bushcrafter, have heard good things, love their pukko but sheath is useless but honestly hard to justify changing out my tops pasyaten with how used to it i am

No, what you described is not what I’m looking for. Price, blade steel. Does it feel good in the hand, does it get hot spots on my hand, does the blade geometry work? All these items reflected against the money.
I like the looks of that knife. Solid Kydex holster which is sweet. Love the G-10 on that. I wonder if there will be any blue G-10 handles. (hint to the scale makers out there) Yikes $290 is a bit steep for me. I would rather get a Claymore for that price. Thanks for sharing Zach. Is the luku the replacement for the Puko? I want to see it cut some meat and see some strikes on the feral rod to see how well it sparks.
Hey Renzo, the Leuku is kind of the bigger sibling to the Puukko. A little longer and just overall bigger. They can do similar things, but I’d say the Puukko is maybe a tiny bit more versatile and something people would be more likely to carry every day. The Leuku is still the one I prefer, but I tend to like bigger knives.
@zachstuff does the fire rod come with this, I just ordered the knife but watching your video made me think that this may possibly come with the knife but I doubt it. Let me know thanks..
Nice looking knife, brother Zach! I love that Benchmade goes the extra mile and has Exotac make them a blue FireRod to go with it. Nice. If you want to have zero worries about losing your ferro rod, regardless of which loop is on the knife, I put shock cord where the paracord is on that one. Then, you can stretch it down, over the bottom to lock it in. I think I still like that Leuku more, though. I want to see you skin an elk with it. Failing that, I would be happy to see you baton some wood down and do some firecrafting (feathersticks and ferro rods).
@@chriskitchen4772 You can buy rolls of it online. I prefer 1/8 or 3/16 inch diameter, depending on the use, personally. Ferro rods are good with 1/8 to secure them well enough. You can get a 25 foot roll of it for around $10 and I usually get it from Paracord Planet or Sgt. Knots. Good luck!
I‘m mean what is the point on a review, when you just take a brand new blade which has seen no use at all and you just repeat what the marketing department of Benchmade has written? How can you tell that this blade is good for camping and bushcraft without using it. Just another random YT knife guy telling stuff.
@@zachstufffair enough, but why you are saying then that this knife is good as a camping knife and bushcraft knife. As you mentioned it, you haven’t tested it so why are you assuming that this knife is good?
@@Robert.Northwoods was able to see the testing done on the knife, in addition to seeing it used for fire starting. Would check the boxes for camping and bushcraft use. My intention is to keep unboxing and reviews separate for that reason.

Always great videos
Mighty fine looking fixed blade Zach! Maybe a fatwood fire, feather sticking....something like that!!
Okay, those are good suggestions! Thanks Big Red!
A little Fatwood Friday action?
@@zachstuff I have plenty of Fatwood to share!!!
I can't figure out why but I just don't like the look of it
For the price, is this a top choice for survival as well camping?
This will definitely handle your needs for those two things!

I like ferro groove. I just picked up a Saddle Mountain Skinner BNIB for $99. Have a great weekend!! #DSKFS
That's a good blade too SharpGuy!! Appreciate it, you too!
You bugger you. You got one before i could get it ordered. Looks great in cruwear. Cant wait to get one. I'm jealous!
I just picked one up. This will be the first BM I've picked up in a while and I'm actually pretty excited about this one. Love the CPM-CruWear on this
It looks great Zach. Thanks so much for sharing my man.
Very nice. Price is high. Great blade steel. Fatwood processing and a Fatwood Fire.
@Nick Spyderco PM2 Crucarta is under 180. This knife jade more material, but less work to make it $200 ish
I have absolutely no use for a fixed blade and yet I'm tempted lol... Thanks for sharing Zach, great knife!

It combines most of what you need for an outdoor fixed blade and will be fun to put to work!!

Should put a Adamas full size up against it. Make sobutterfly sticks and carve tent stakes start a Fire 🔥
