Louis Vuitton Speedy B 25 vs. Pochette Metis - Which one to buy?

Hi,
I've received several requests asking about the differences between Pochette Metis and Speedy Bandouliere 25. The official dimensions of the bags are on the LV website, and clearly, the Speedy 25 is bigger, cheaper (by about $500 USD), and fits more than Pochette Metis. However, the weights are as follows:
Pochette Metis Reverse Monogram: 1 lb 7.3 oz or 660 gm
Speedy B 25 Damier Ebene: 1 ob 1 oz or 484 gm.

I just found your channel- love it! Great comparison. I’m a Speedy B 30 girl because I prefer the wide opening and I don’t usually carry it crossbody (typically shoulder carry for me) Pochette Metis is my favorite crossbody bag- I have that one in Empreinte Noir and just added the Reverse. But if I had to choose, it would be my Speedy B since it’s classic and so versatile. My Mono Speedy strap is very soft but all the vachetta scares me so I don’t carry that as much as I should. And that’s why I never got the Mono PM- I opted for the leather and Reverse. Low maintenance. This is such a helpful video 💗 I subbed and look forward to catching up.
Thank you so much! You're just like me! I had the Speedy B25 in monogram and ended up selling it because I couldn't enjoy using it since I worried about getting stains. That's why I love the PM in reverse monogram since it's so carefree. I also love the Speedy B25 in DE for its versatility! Thanks for watching and subbing!!!
So glad that you did this comparison video as I’ve been debating whether to get the speedy 30 since the metis is unavailable and requires being on a wait list. Though I would love to have both in different canvases. I guess I need to figure out what use I have for either of them and make a decision

I totally agree. Even though speedy B30 didn’t work out for me, I think it’s a fabulous bag. Also, pochette Métis is one of the most functional medium size bag there is! Congratulations on your pochette Métis purchase!!!!

I have the speedy bandoliere 25 and even though is a black hole and it drives me crazy when I need to find something inside I love it 😍 the metis is very pretty but I wouldn’t risk almost $2000 on a bag with so many quality issues ....

Agreed on the black hole. I have to use purse organizer with mine - or i won't use it at all.

Birte Johnsen omg!! Thank you so much for your kind words! Love, love, love Denmark. You might also check out Lv Clapton. It’s a new bag which looks similar to PM without the top handle. It just came out. It’s in Damier ebene print with leather colored flap and strap. :-).

Birte Johnsen yes- but many, many years ago to Copenhagen during summer. So clean, beautiful and everyone was so nice! It was daylight almost 24 hours - so cool! I want to go back....

I think you perhaps get the taks bak ind the airport.You can get the paper ind the LV store.I think it is all over europa, but ask or google.Smile Ps. I'm so sorry for not responding earlier! I just saw your comment! I had to return my Pochette Metis for glazing issues. I decided to not get it again because I also didn't like how the S-lock would randomly come un-done. xoxo
I have the reverse PM, do i need the SpeedyB in my life lol? I live in Hawaii
I had both :-). Speedy B fits a little more, but I loved the outside pocket of the PM.... But my PM was deemed to have quality issues. I found that I used PM more than Speedy B at home. But I found that the S-lock would sometimes be undone without my knowledge. So, I never use PM when I travel. I love the Speedy B for traveling -- much more secure and versatile. Thanks for watching!
@@MyfavoritesWithMaggie can you fit a cardigan inside the speedy25 among other daily things? I'm asking bc my GE Neverfull in DE was deemed defective and I'm wondering if i can turn the Speedyb25 into a workbag or if I should get another Neverfull Gm
@@australialover24 I can fit a light cardigan, but it'll make the bag completely full. I can put a hat or gloves into the Speedy b25, but a cardigan.... it depends on how bulky it is..... If you need a workbag, I'd go with the Neverfull.
Great comparison. I am so lucky to have the same speedy, but I have waiting for 15 month and I am still waiting to buy a Metis in monogram here in Denmark.
I love my Speedy B25 DE, but I noticed that recently, I only use it when I travel abroad because I feel more secure with the zipper and the Ebene print seems more understated than the monogram prints. I looked forever for the Metis. I looked all over Europe and finally put my name on the list (when they used to take people on lists) and got it in 2017 Christmas time. I like to use PM at home more than Speedy. It's really convenient with wide opening and back pocket for easy access to phone. The only thing bothering me is the clasp -- I think it's me though.... sometimes I find the locking fussy and found it open (no big deal since it's a flap) because I accidently hit the knob. I might be the last female standing that has no desire to get the speedy. I need my hands free when I'm out and about, plus the vachetta on the handles looks so dirty after a while. I think its a dated look but youtubers who own it keep it on life support. (Just my opinion)
I get it - I like the bandouliere version of the Speedy so much more -- I needs my hands free :-). I had the Speedy bandouliere in 25 in monogram and also in DE, but I sold the one in monogram and purchased the Pochette Metis in Reverse Monogram (I don't have this one due to quality issues). The canvas 25 size has a small opening but love its versatility to wear it different ways. Thanks for your comment!
