I know, I know...Time is always the killer. Between the RUclips Videos and all the various admin around it-- it's like: Here are all the toys, and you can play with them for a bit...But no time for a full project! I'm hoping over the holiday break I'll have some time to get something done!
Thanks Tim. There were definitely a few good insights into using the new-ish Kaiber Murder Board. Unfortunately I've blown like 2000 credits in the past week on half of a 40 second video. It definitely takes some getting used to, figuring out how to use each model and prompt them. Then in the end, with different outputs at different sizes, I've had to do some serious upscaling and cropping. All in all I like where this is going. It's going to force me to plan, script and storyboard my videos before generating tons of content that I end up throwing in the garbage.
Good stuff. Do you have a video with an overall comparison of all the ai apps and what's best to use for which output or result? Such as image, video, camera operations, audio, image styles, etc? Tech evolves so quickly that you may be creating best of the best videos every month...
Excellent tutorial again Mate, I can see the appeal of boards but my brain just doesn't work that way I always end up back to the app directly which felt a lot better. Really like the results you got looking forward to seeing how you handle Lumalabs new Board
It’s a LOT of fun. Just talked to the head honcho over at Kaiber and man, what they’re thinking about next is both awesome and WEIRD. I’ll let you know as soon as they get it running, but it sounds pretty nutty. That’s why I love these guys!
Hi Tim, I've been using Kaiber for a year now and have been tinkering with the new interface for a week or two. Can you explain what the plugin versions of Luma, Kling, Runway et al lack that the stand alone versions have. Cheers mate.
Extend for one. Obviously you can’t do the trained characters in Kling. I think camera controls in Luma aren’t quite as strong when you text prompt vs Luma’s commands, but I have to confirm that. Oh, Motion Brush in Kling isn’t present either.
It's pretty great. Def worth a shot. I know not everyone immediately connects with the Canvas idea, but once you start playing around with it for a few hours, something just kind of clicks. Plus, you get to punch that little happy face in the nose. And that's oddly satisfying.
Make a non sponsored black Friday video! No ones done it yet and the people who have are just promoting products they havent even used themselves but got paid to Youre insightful enough where peope trust you enough to give these things a try I have money to spend!
Didn't Wolfe just do one? I was thinking about it, but...also, I kinda want to eat a bunch of turkey and go into a coma for 4 days. haha. AI is taking a break, and so am I! (We don't get many these days!)
@TheoreticallyMedia bro, how did you change your Kaiber account dashboard to a dark theme? Mine is stuck on this bright white and blue colors. I hate it. It’s torture on the eyes. The old Kaiber website theme was dark.
There should be a little click option on the bottom right? Or the top left. Sorry, not at my computer so I don’t remember off the top of my head, but I just wanted to take a moment to say: we are friends in darkness. Keep clear of those light mode weirdos!
i think for kaiber when they add features from other apis like lip sync that come from sites that are used in a basic form present already on kaiber then i think it would become more interesting when all the features from all the platforms are present =/
While I don't know about lip sync, I can tell you that they're working on integrating in some other APIs as well. I don't think I can say who, but-- yeah-- there's some good stuff on the way. Plus, they're working on some more "home grown" ideas.
Kaiber honestly looks like its lagging significantly far behind minimax kling & runway these days, I would add Luma (yes even with dream machines new update yesterday) still to the lagging behind side of the gen ai video model generators, right nowwe have a bronze silver and gold medal podium and the rest are becoming irrelevant to professionals actually using these platforms for client work or making short films etc.
I think Kaiber is taking an interesting approach. They still have "weird" Kaiber (and are improving that) while still having Minimax/Kling/Runway on the site via APi. So, it's a bit of cake and eating it too.
I dont like the idea of paying credits for every little thing. I feel like these are made for the people who need easy mode. I'm trying to find a way off all of the pay wheels. Wouldnt be bad for 1 sub that does everything in one place but paying some random company to slop it all together and charge me for that feels rip off ish.... for my tastes that is
I actually just had a call with the higher ups at Kaiber and brought up the credits issue. They need more clarity into what costs how much, and what feels like slot machine credit payments for every generation. They seemed to understand, and did jot down notes on that-- so, I mean, hopefully we'll see some changes on that front. To be honest, they were really keen on finding out what you guys like and don't like, and they're making changes and taking steps to get things right.
@@TheoreticallyMedia please man stay solid dont let anyone buy you off cause we need more non yes men fake fluff people like you. You give us solid info if its not legit you tell us the truth. A lot of us respect the no fluff hard work. I appreciate you big dawg.
@TheoreticallyMedia yup, saw it on Matt's channel. I actually think it's a really bad thing and I'm about to check Open AI's stock price to see if there's a noticeable impact which might signal fear from investors in terms of security breaches with the company. That would be bad for creators IMO
It varies. Image Gen is 1 credit-- Video is between 5 and...like, 20? Depending on what model you're using. Yeah-- that part needs some clarity for sure.
I'm not a fan of the murder board approach... anything node based and I'm out (sorry Comfy UI). It's not that I don't understand it, I just don't think it's very practical for end users. Great for tinkerers though. That said, I couldn't follow anything you did in this video. Looked like you threw a bunch of images into random boxes and hoped for the best. Also I found it hard to concentrate once you said 'you just punch Kiko in the face a couple of times'. All I could think about is maybe your murder board was to track down whoever punched kiko to death? 😉
Tim, "i wanted to do a title sequence, but ran out of time" is exactly my problem with murder boards. Everything just takes SO LONG, and fiddling around with elements, trying to organise, slipping, zooming instead of scrolling... This crime does not need solving - it is the murder of my patience! 😠😤🗯 Slow, painful, using toothpics... Would be nice to see you not just making that title sequence, but making it in real time, no cuts. With credits used listed. That would be helpful for those interested. P.S.: just gave ny acc on Kaiber away to my husband, there are 18k credits, and he has 3 albums of AI music made in 2 months. So far, he is a bit infuriated with UI, too. Our jnternal joke for bad interfaces - "programmers did it". Udio also suffers from it to a significant extent.
Totally get it. Funny enough, just talked to the Kaiber team and they’re well aware that onboarding isn’t smooth. They are working on it and have something pretty weird (and awesome) planned for it soon.
Love getting AI tutorials from Tim! Makes it so much interesting and fun to go through it with his wit and art choices.
Okay but for real, that art style you had going and the animation looked really good in concept. Really good.
I'm with you! I need to finish that project! I think as things slow down during the holidays I'll have a chance!
Finally time for a short animated episode of some story from you instead of just clips. I would watch it. Cool as always and very helpful, thx.

That might have to become a recurring feature. You're right, everything changes so much- so often!
Nice competition is good. Every tool is increasing in capabilities.
The "AI Murder Board" looks a lot like my desk.
now, that's two of us!! Between us, I think we've got the case cracked!

Heya Louis!! You see that Sora leak today? Madness!!
@TheoreticallyMedia yup, saw it on Matt's channel.

@TheoreticallyMedia
Oh crap, I thought OpenAI was a publicly traded company....... oooops, my bad.
@TheoreticallyMedia
Regardless, I think it was morally irresponsible to do that aside from it likely being criminal
This would seem to have profound copyright problems.
god ai is becoming the anime community isn't it

Not really impressed, sorry. I can’t wait for Sora to be released. I just watched a video on the OpenAI channel about it and… wow!
It leaked for just a few hours! I'm going to try to put together a quick video on it!
Dont think is a good idea to punch keko in the face he might come back to hunt you 🤣🤣
The new Kaiber sucks...what a mess.
...why?...redundant!

nah, 100% apolitical. Everyone is out to screw you.
Wow - great... so what !?!

Haha, it was a pretty bad mic day. I'm not sure what I did with the placement, but yeah-- my audio was kind of all over the place!
