      I have oddly strong triceps and i really like back stroke. i think you have to look side ways alittle often to look where the lane rope is, also practice starting a few meters before the flags till get used to where the wall is...

    This slow mo is amazing because it shows more clearly how his leg movements are not biphasic. It's more like a reapeating pattern of 5 or 6 kicks that he uses to build up a little extra force into every other "jump". Thanks.

    I cant swim in a straight line.
    This is a true story and its embarrassing as hell when I think of it.
    I was in a petty little school swim competition, well...long story short. The warning blank shot went off and i panicked and started to swim...realise no one else started so i stopped....swam back then heard the "bang"! GO shot. Turned back around already fucking panicking and confused... started swimming...ended up in the person nexts to me lane...naturally...i came last. Heard my mum laughing her ass off the whole time. She loved that day. I hated it.

    at 7:48 it shows michael doing the side dolphan. during the kick he moves his legs appart from each other while keeping his feet close together. what is the main perpous for this movement in the kicking style

    • @gardenboylee
      @gardenboylee 2 года назад

      personally I do this as I swim fly too, keeping your legs slightly apart and not too tight allows for easier movement and less tension, it also makes focusing on using your whole body movement easier

    • @lajohnson1ly
      @lajohnson1ly 2 года назад

      The slight leg separation enables more power to be generated and transferred to the feet. He does it during all the dolphining drills, and less so while actually swimming the stroke.. The tops of the feet are the primary means of propulsion for the kick, and keeping them close together allows less water to go between them so the feet generate more force against the water.
