  • If you want people to take you seriously, you must be committed to your word.
"Words don't mean anything, actions mean something, and habits mean everything," or something like that.
There's a vast difference between stating our values and demonstrating our values.
We can say we value "x, y, or z" all day, but our actions are the "receipts" to back our word.
When we act incongruent with our word, we are out of integrity, and people notice.
If we want to be inspiring leaders and expect high standards from our team or family, we have to raise the standards we set for ourselves.
We have to start with leading ourselves.
    Leading ourselves is simple.
We say we are going to do something, we do it.
We say something matters to us, we support/nurture it.
We say we will be somewhere at some time, we show up on time.
It's quite simple, but the resistance comes from facing ourselves and deciding to be greater than our circumstances.
This is why it's critical to do the work to be mentally, metabolically, and emotionally fit.
