      As of now we have just been told that we will have 3 hours of each. Next week I will find out details and then I plan on creating a video of what my day to day schedule will look like for 100% virtual which is the mode we are beginning in. If you subscribe to my channel and you'll be able to see that video once it comes out next week. :) I hope it will be helpful.

      You can assign multiple skills to any one activity so say the journal covers W.2, W.5 and K.CC.1 you can apply each of those skills to that one assignment.

    Thank again for responding to an earlier question. I love your videos! So much valuable information. I was wondering if it is possible for students to keep a running journal that they add to and that I could respond in the journal. So that it’s not just turned in one time. I’m new to this. Ready to retire but I want to learn as much as possible. TIA

    • @lovinglittlelearners5645
      @lovinglittlelearners5645  3 года назад +1

      Hi Yvette, Once they have their own copy of the journal I do not think you'll be able to go in and add additional activities into it to build upon. However, if you just want to compile the entire journal and then assign specific pages for them to complete, you respond and then they keep working on it, I believe that is an option. :)

    • @lovinglittlelearners5645
      @lovinglittlelearners5645  4 года назад +3

      On seesaw you are able to lock your moving parts but I do not think you are able to do that on Google Slides. What you COULD do is make your worksheet page and take a screenshot of it. Go to a blank page and add it as the background and then they are not able to move anything and will just be able to add on top of the picture template you added. Thats just kind of a way around it.

    Thank you for this detailed video!! If I want to use this for daily journal writing, how would I assign one slide a day? Thank you!!

    • @lovinglittlelearners5645
      @lovinglittlelearners5645  4 года назад

      You're welcome! You would not be able to assign just one slide a day in the journal format, you would probably be better off just breaking up your journal into individual activities if you are just looking for them to complete one slide. Or else you would not see the final piece until the end of the week or whenever you are assigning them their final slide to work on because it can only be turned in once.

    • @lovinglittlelearners5645
      @lovinglittlelearners5645  4 года назад +1

      I'm so glad! If you are using the daily journal in Google Classroom you will be able to use a "student activity link" starting August 14th and you can simply copy and paste that link. However you can also add these links to a Seesaw daily journal as well so everything is in one platform. Once this feature comes out next week, I will make a video explaining how to do so! :)

    Your videos are so informative that I’d thought I’d try asking you for your opinion. ❤️About how much of the day should a typical/successful third grader be encouraged to spend on school when he begins online school from home for the first time this September? Roughly how long for live classes plus independent schoolwork? Thank you so much. I wish I could find videos or blogs from parents and elementary students trying to schedule online schooling routines for this year. Is the average kiddo going to fall in line without having to be sat on to learn good work habits without a teacher physically present? ( with obvious parental encouragement, of course.) Anxious. Would love to see how this is all playing out.

    • @lovinglittlelearners5645
      @lovinglittlelearners5645  4 года назад

      Oh it will be hard forsure. I would just honestly spend the first couple of weeks working on establishing rules and routines to get them used to this crazy environment in which they do have to be a little more self disciplined. My school is doing 3 hours of direct teaching and 3 hours of independent work & office hours a day. I would start out with fun activities and focus on the social emotional aspect of the student and slowly work in more and more academics as they are beginnings since they have been away from school for so long. I would START with a live morning meeting for 1 hour, have them do 1 hour of independent work on a specific subject and go back and forth between direct meetings/lessons/small groups and then independent work so it is broken up and you have contact with them on and off throughout the day to help if they are stuck or discouraged. That is my advice and what I plan on doing but I honestly don't have any concrete answers either! I wish you the absolute best!!! :)

    I don't want my students to be able to move the slides around when they open it to complete the work. I only want the to be able to click on the URL's and type. What do I do?

    • @lovinglittlelearners5645
      @lovinglittlelearners5645  4 года назад +1

      What you can do is design the slide. Screenshot it and then add it as the slides background instead. Add the parts that you want them to manipulate in afterwards. ;)

    • @lovinglittlelearners5645
      @lovinglittlelearners5645  4 года назад

      Yes you can do that! What I would do is to take a screenshot of your journal page and insert that into your seesaw student template. Click on the 3 dots and add in the link to your google slide journal that you want them to complete. When they click on the link in Seesaw this will take them out to your Google Slides journal. :) I hope that helps! • @lovinglittlelearners5645
      @lovinglittlelearners5645  4 года назад +1

      As of now what most people are doing is designing their pages and adding it to the background of the slide as a picture and adding their text boxes to the slide instead which will prevent students from moving anything around.

      @@lovinglittlelearners5645 you might look into creating a master slide (open a new slide, go to view, select master) and create a master of your slide deck. After that you can select that master slide to make lessons for students with links, movable parts etc while the background remains firm
