This is very different from the 1st Super Bad in the States. The one in the States was all Soul music. Really cool to see this variation! Thanks for posting.
K-tel "Super Bad" is a soul compilation in other countries, but is obviously just a top hit compilation in Australia. It's just rings funny to have acts like the Osmonds, Lobo, and Loudon Wainwright III on a record called "Super Bad".
Thisxwas the first record i ever bought or got for free with my panasonic cassette player. I played it non stop as a 5 grader back 50 years ago. Dead skunk in tge midfle of the road and destiny were my favourites lol
Yes there was! Check for that particular commercial that featured singer Joe Simon who had also introduced singer Millie Jackson in person singing both their hit songs from the album. Just checked out both album versions together just now on RUclips just a few minutes ago. Check em'out. You wont be dissapointed.
This is a crap-tastic A.O.R. version of the Super Bad LP released in Australia not the U.S. & Canadian version which was Soul, Funk & R&B. The sleeve is identical which is quite funny because it's faux ghetto-style graffiti. Call me a cynic but I can't quite picture Albert Hammond tagging the walls of the inner city.
This is an Australian commercial featuring Aussie DJ David White, at the time he was working at Australia's no 1 Rock station 2SM
Spot David's bones in a curry any day.

Good old days
Have not heard of half of these groups yet I am over 50.

I'd love to see more Australian K-Tel ads get uploaded to RUclips.
These K tel albums should've been made into cds!
Majestic was K-Tel in Australia and this had Albert Hammond's "Never Rains in Southern California" from an American album.
By Majestic Records Australia (TA 246).
This guy's hair is goin' ON !!
Nice!
I still have my copy
Maybe it's me but I never considered Donny and Jimmy Osmond "super bad"...
or Rod Kirkham. Fun to see and hear the ad and those crazy prices again.
Super Bad Down Undah...
0:05 Look at the K-tel logo! Prototypical, right?
Not available on 8-track in 1973? Surprising!
I don't think 8-track was very successful in Australia.
Wasn't there a "Super Bad is BacK" Comp K-Tel put out thereafter?
